Speak for yourself, buddy ;p the hardcore RDR players will be all over red dead online at some point if it's anything like the first one (which I bet it will be but improved) myself and some others have been playing red dead and the online portion of the game for 8 years now.. we didn't abandon ship because of what's popular. And you know what? We don't want the fortnite audience either... Red Dead is a DIFFERENT mature and adult like game. Which people that need action every single second won't like regardless of story or online they try to play. I honestly feel like (sorry if this offends anyone. Not my intention just being super honest) I feel like you need a certain intelligence level\state of mind and how you look at ART to be able to appreciate a game like red dead redemption. It's unfortunate many people will miss out cause it's an "oh so boring western" their loss. I will play RDR2 and online for years to come just like I have with the first one.

The first Redemption had a healthy playerbase till the new consoles. In terms of sales RDR2 is gonna be miles ahead of that game too, and the online is gonna be made to last with all the lessons they've learned from GTAO. Also consider the fact that Rockstar don't release games very often now, this is their new game to focus on for the next few years. It'll likely live long into the lifespan of the next consoles, with a remaster or a port or backwards compatability, however the PS5/Xbox One Two do it.

 

Competitive scene means f*ck all for a game like this.

Pretty sure PS5 and Scarlett will have full backwards compatibility which would make remasters and ports pointless.

Aye, that's what I'm thinking. Xbox will have it 100%, but Sony can be idiotic at times.

Hah. They won over Microsoft in 2013 but have gotten a bit cocky again with the recent stuff about cross-play. They still have the best games though lol. However after Microsoft made BC a thing for One I'm sure Sony wouldn't want to miss the chance to establish the same thing for their next console. It'd be pretty stupid if they didn't.

Nah Sony will do it,the architecture of both consoles(PS4 and PS5) are similar,worst case scenario is Sony requiring a paywall for you to play your old games
