The reporters who saw the demo said NPCs would treat you differently by how you looked. For example, shop owners would give you higher prices if you are groomed and well dressed, and the opposite if you look like a dirty mountain man.

I guess this is a part of an improved honor system.

I can imagine that a dapper looking Morgan can talk his way out of situations where hobo looking Morgan will need to rely on his fists

I'm watching season 5 of Miami Vice right now. It makes me want a HD GTA in Vice City in the 80s.

Yeah I'm not linking the Eurogamer article for easy clicks. The more interesting part of the article is actually in the comments section.

Seems like Rockstar/Take 2 has been showcasing the same demo or section at various retailer conventions and conferences around the world. There was one showing in Australia that went down worse because the game crashed at the bank robbery so there was no shoot out. lol

Game crashing? That’s not good to hear. I know they still have time to optimize the performance, but I just hope and pray that we don’t get a downgrade from the gameplay trailer because the graphics are unbelievable as of right now . I know graphics aren’t everything , but pleeeeeaase have it look like that when it launches.

Im sorry but I can't find any written info.. I'll have to hope that someone else remembers an article that has mentioned it.

I hope that I didn't make a brain fart and I just remember a theory, not a feature.

The Jon Ryan guy (I’m sure that’s his name) from IGN mentioned that as well and I believe it was also mentioned in one of the previews from May.....

Games are always crashing right up until they go gold pretty much. Nothing to worry about.

Game demos are played in a very specific way for a reason - even so much as looking in the wrong direction can crash the game. It's why live demos aren't that common these days.

That Eurogamer article is genuinely embarassing. I didn't realize they were that hard up for views, I thought someone was trying to link a legacy video but shockingly it's an outlet.

The more embarrassing part was heading over to ERA and seeing a 500 page topic on the matter. Thanks to Eurogamer the topic creator was able to skew a narrative that the demo was so boring the game must be bad and quoted "the interesting" parts but obviously left out the last quite that gave context to the whole situation. Oy vey.

Lmao there's the cheap shot.

Congrats? Also there's no reason at all for you to bring my name into this so. Seems like you just want to be rude.

Yeah. Arthur also has his own core stats like stamina that can be improved too.

When was that confirmed?

I think we're gonna be forced to make some hard choices for our steed. I don't believe the game will force us to lose our mount through story or side missions, I think they will probably have an achievement for having the same mount for most of the game just like the first one. One part of hardcore mode that I enjoyed is when your horse died you couldn't whistle it back, of course if you bought deeds you could switch out and have a horse again but for the beginning when it was too expensive if you lost your horse you were screwed and would have to think on your feet and that was the most exciting.

I wonder if we've spent 100+ hours with the same horse and if we're being chased off a cliff what are you gonna do? You gonna pause and reload or take it as it comes?

0TBwXpy

I’m  hoping for some type of stat system similar to GTASA where if we eat too much we put on weight  and visa/versa for our horses and if somehow the stats for our steeds will decrease Over a slow period of time if we neglect our trusty steed,   Whether it’s trust, speed, strength, etc. Don’t get me wrong I’m not asking for a nagging stat system that requires constant attention such as a base or camp but simply a system that makes us care for our horse that in time Makes the players bond even more meaningful.

Not a chance. If it were GTA V physics, he would've tumbled over like a tree rather than being dramatic.

who the hell saw the intro where john got shot, the mysterious government agents, and him talking about going back for williamson somehow thinking it's a farming simulator???

I don't know, ask the people who skipped out lol. It's very shocking how many people I know skipped RDR1 after the first MacFarland mission.

Some people don't have patience these days anymore.

Yeah next month we’ll finally have it but R* keeps doing what they always do. I think they haven’t realized yet that they have only 53 days to show what they have in their hands. They’re not showing anything. They released the gameplay like a month ago. Classic R*.

R* will likely do an intense 6 week marketing campaign (the most effective timeframe to advertise before launch):

Gameplay for missions and robberies, hands-on events, online multiplayer trailer/info, TV spot/final story trailer, ads all around the world.

With the previous information, Images and videos they layed the foundation and now they'll deliver a fast-paced campaign. The 3-2-1 system... 3 weeks after gameplay #2 comes the online trailer, 2 weeks after that comes the Launch trailer and 1 week after that launches the game. In between they'll have press articles and advertisements.

RDR isn't for everyone doods. Being bemused at the idea of someone not liking the herding missions is just being a snob.

Picking up my OneX on Wednesday. Gives me a little over a month to stroll my way through RDR again but this time in high res.

I plan on getting a OneX at the end of the month. They need to reduce the price asap.

On a side note, I noticed people worrying about bugs while reading the previous pages. Let's not forget that RDR had quite a few bugs yet the game is still a masterpiece. Not to mention it won game of the year. Let's not worry until the game is actually out. I'm sure we'd be experiencing a third delay if the game wasn't ready by now. That's not to say it's perfect and bug free but no game is.

Reddit and ERA. So far it's looking like a "at close" release rather than midnight!

John Ryan (or whatever his name is) mentioned it in the very first episode of Red Dead Radio. He had a short conversation with the devs from R so a lot of the unique info he is talking about isn't really covered by articles and whatnot.

I wonder if RDR2 will see the return of The Strange Man? I hope so.

I just want them to keep up the mystery themed side missions and maybe crank it up a notch or two as well. The Mysterious Stranger side mission made me scratch my head really hard and to this day i'm not even sure what that mission meant or who that guy was. The golden retriever side mission with Franklin was ok but not as good as the one in RDR1.
