Yeah definitely gonna do whatever I want in this game. In RDR1 I felt it made more sense to be a good guy, since John left that outlaw life behind and worked for the government basically. 

 

In RDR2 I'm gonna rob, kill, beat up and insult everyone who looks at me weird.

edit: To add to it, "Van Der Linde" roughly translates to "from Linde" or "Linda" which is a common Dutch girls name. It could also refer to a linden tree or lime tree or basswood (depending where you live), so "Van Der Linde" would mean "From the linden tree".

I'm pretty stoked with it, but I honestly wouldn't mind no more game play trailers being released, I'm already on board and don't want anything else spoiled, just want October 26th already!!

Today I visited 3 tech stores in Berlin and RDR2 was everywhere!

Well the "Rob" button is assigned to Triangle/Y and likely drawing your gun will be assigned to Triangle/Y, so likely Arthur just draws his gun and aims it at him and says something baddass.

It was stated in the IGN preview (and a few others, I think) that you will be able to rob people without even needing to draw your gun. Their reaction will vary, of course, depending on their personality and how aggressive you've been in that interaction so far. So, pressing triangle in this scenario would probably prompt Arthur to demand money from the highwayman. Seeing as how the man already has a gun pointed at Arthur, it's probably not the best idea. R2 will most likely draw your weapon. Since the player is already locked on to the NPC with L2 held, drawing the weapon would most likely lead to it automatically being pointed (which is probably why R2's prompt says "Aim Weapon" as opposed to "Draw Weapon"). So, if you wanted to rob the man with a weapon, you'd have to press R2 first and then immediately press triangle. Though, I imagine Arthur would probably get shot a few times at least before he manages to do that depending on the NPC's personality and his own draw speed.

I totally understand what you mean. Hands down. I contemplated even watching the first gameplay video. Was just gonna go completely blind since we are so close but I said eh f*ck it. I've waited too long and it will really make no difference. As I said earlier, it's a gameplay video but still not literal real gameplay where you hear the footsteps, see the menu. Hear the nature etc. That'll all happen for us to see first time on launch day! I don't think you gotta worry, rockstar is literally the best at not spoiling and leaving surprises for launch. They just give ideas on what to expect

With a man with arthurs talents, im sure dead eye will do the trick... One shot to the knee cap *BAM*.. Money taken.

The triangle prompt seems to be the most varied and situation specific of the button presses, and I don't believe there was another "Rob" example in the gameplay trailer.  I wonder if in this case it means to join in and help the bad guy rob whoever he's stealing from.  Doesn't look like he needs help, but this seems like a really odd scenario to attempt to rob the person you're targeting.

We all waited and Shawn Layden said ''we got a surprise announcement at the end of the conference.''. We all waited and they showed Days Gone instead of RDR2. And everyone thought it was because of the Orlando shootout:(

I'm hoping this time around, we'll have the option to initiate deadeye and mark our targets before drawing our weapon. Wouldn't mind if it was unlocked after levelling deadeye a bit.

The Stranger with the gun may be nervous and/or bluffing and not willing to fight someone who is willing to fight back, in this instance I could see being able to rob him a viable option
