I’m getting the physical later on down the line...but I gotta roll with that midnight release!

They haven’t charged my card yet, they will charge once the game has been dispatched. There is not an option to pay in advance...  

 

GAME is miles behind ShopTo, I wouldn’t bother with them. ShopTo has the fastest deliveries hands down. And if we are lucky we will receive the game on the 25th... that would be something!

I would say the odds of ShopTo delivering RDR2 a day early are slim to none. They often get you games early because they ship on the Wednesday so it 100% arrives by Friday, but it's next day delivery so it often arrives earlier. Thing is, publishers know this and it's not uncommon for them to tell stores to hold back copies till the Thursday - and Rockstar are one of those publishers. They did it with GTA V.

 

Hell, publishers are starting to take advantage of it with special editions giving early access. For example, EA switched the Fifa release date in the US from Tuesday to Friday and told all UK publishers to hold their copies back till the Thursday but you can buy a special edition to get 3 days early access. Ubisoft do it too.

Know what detail would be really cool? Frozen lakes that you can cross if it's cold enough in the game but breaking if it's too hot. Problably wishful thinking but man, wouldn't that be fun.

Yea it's not a question of if DPD get the game to you early it's ShopTo literally not having the game sent out till Thursday. They hold them back, there's always been a lot of people upset about it over the years cause it runs the risk of not getting the game till the Monday. No one but a few people who got lucky from Amazon got GTA V early in the UK if memory serves and even that got Rockstar to investigate it. They were more lax on GTA V NG copies (I got that early) but yea, I'd bet they do the same with RDR2 and won't ship it till Thursday.

The new Forizon Horizon is doing seasons and has a lake that freezes over in winter so it's finally becoming possible. Think they'd have mentioned seasons if they're doing it but we'll have to see about smaller things like frozen lakes and the like.

Except that games require continuous, repetitive, optimized grinding for cash flow, which looks a lot like a job, which looks a lot like life.

Aint nothing wrong with repetition in games anyway, one of my favourite genres is loot grinders like Diablo, Warframe, etc. Basically doing the same sh*t over and over and over again for a chance at better loot. The gameplay being good is what makes it fun.

In 1899, Herbert Moon is the most feared and most prodigious bounty hunter in the west.  Arthur's arch enemy.

I can't praise the npc detail in RDR1 enough. Each one is unique with their own names, routines, dialouges and even family members buried at graveyards. They even recognize other npcs if they walk in into a place. A good example would be Eldin Grubb who works at the local undertaker in Armadillo. His wife Lydia Grubb has passed away and is buried in Coot's Chapel. On her tombstone Eldin advertised his own business. Can you imagine just how detailed NPC's in RDR2 will be?

I ordered GTA V from ShopTo, it came on release...most of the time now I just avoid midnight launches since I can play at midnight via digital. But yeah the only place I hear of these days posting games out early are SimplyGames, I can’t see them doing it w/ RDR2 though.

Yea the day early stuff from ShopTo and other retailers seems to be coming to an end especially as I said with publishers offering early access with special editions. Digital is still way too expensive in the UK on PSN but the convenience, preload, midnight launch (I'm assuming for games of this size) is too good to pass up now. Be a nice change to wake up Friday morning and not have to wait for a delivery or the game to install, I'll just boot up my PS4 and continue where I left off the night before lol.

This was even harder in multiplayer because Dead Eye wasn’t really in slow motion like that. Trying to get gold fire bottles (100 Headshots with them) was such a pain in the ass. lol

 

Speaking of fire bottles I wonder if we will have to get actual kerosine and a lighter or match stick to light it? Where will fire bottles even be if Arthur doesn’t have invisible pockets this time?

Good question. Maybe we won't be able to spam so many bottles this time, or carrying them in a bag, just like dynamite.

I’d say maybe two or three bottles in the saddle bag with a lighter or match stick at the ready so Arthur could light em and throw em.

I haven't pre-ordered yet. I'm going digital but I can't decide between the standard and special editions. I mean as much as I'm a R* fanboy I don't think I really need the special edition.
