RDR2's gonna be a juggernaut of a release and a great game, but the gaming world doesn't revolve around it. That'd be GTA.

That's also my impression after seeing some gameplay videos about the game. It looks pretty tedious and repetitive and the swinging animations are far from perfect or satisfying.

And yet it's still received ridiculously high praise from hundreds of people who've played it at events as well as from the worlds gaming press.

 

You can like more than one game, you know, it's allowed, no one is going to shout at you. And if the game isn't up your alley do you know what's great? You don't have to play it, you don't have compare it to other games that are very different and you don't have to go out your way to criticise it.

 

I know it's a gaming forum and people always end up comparing games cause it's such a driving force of discussion but Christ almighty do some of the people here love to put down anything that isn't made by Rockstar, heaven forbid that some poor sod brings up a developer like Ubisoft cause it always results in a public lynching. It gets really tedious to watch people put down games other people are looking forward to, real tedious.

Seriously, for as awful as the gaming industry sometimes is nowadays, seeing people sh*t on a game like Spider-Man reminds me why we can't have nice things.

Totally agree!! Sad for the people that stay limited within a short range of options trying to create pointless rivalry. Good for us that enjoy the gaming diversity.

Absolutely no intention to make a game look bad here or elsewhere but you can't deny that Rockstar Games' games are just on a whole different level and pretty much unreachable for the rest of the worlds' developers. I still think Spider-Man will be a great game, no doubt.

We can deny all we want because it's subjective. For all its merits, I feel like GTA V was a massive letdown and, in my opinion, a very mediocre game. Doesn't mean everyone has to agree with me.

 

But let's be real here, Rockstar aren't holier than thou developers that makes games on an "unreachable" level.

Rockstar games are in a different league compared to the rest if you ask me. Nothing else comes close.

Almost bought a used 360 to replay RDR1...again. I already finished it a month or so ago on PSNow, but the graphics are just ugly.

I respect your opinion, truly. But Naughty Dog and Santa Monica beg to differ. They've made awesome games, much better than the ones like GTAV, for example, even though i still liked it a lot...

Which one is better is different within opinions. All games got perfect reviews but what sets R* apart is their consistency in creating great games and the fact that they offer quality in a far larger scale than linear games.

An interesting thought that came to my mind!

How do you guys think the shopping system would work in RDR2? Like how GTA Online has a very easy to use mobile phone from which you can buy anything and within a minute you know any new vehicle or property that is out by visiting the websites.

How do you think RDR2 is gonna do that?

My guess is that newspapers are gonna play a big role where we can read and hear about "new horse breeds" "new inventions" and "new weapons". Also the Wheeler Rawson catalogue will be a handy book in the game to know about all the shopping items, but I wonder if we gotta update it by buying a new one from the shops everyone time Rockstar releases new content.

Pardon letters are a must in Red Dead Online. They’ll probably be hard to obtain though.
