All this merch stuff is amazing!!! Like I really love it all the different variety of things this time around!! But you know what I find most interesting... GameStop official listing multiple times of "available for download" 10\12\2018. Not to beat a dead horse here but for the ones who jumped down my throat a few weeks ago. I wasn't lying to you, the game my dad and I ordered, was this exact one and now here's your official proof. It still isn't clear whether digital or physical, but GameStop is in fact listing October 12th as a date for game availability. Again. Not even meaning playing it, just being able to download the content. this is for both PS4 and Xbox one btw, I just picked one quickly so people  wouldn't have to scroll down the whole page of all listings lol SOURCE; https://www.gamestop.com/xbox-one/games/red-dead-redemption-2-ultimate-edition/164174

New page, just didn't want this to go missed. Although I knew my intentions and idc what people think of me, I do like the community here and I appreciate being a trusted member, I just wanna show you I really was not lying on what I said for whoever remembers. Click that link in my other quoted post above for proof. Also, for those wondering where I was in mean I just take breaks from here sometimes especially when it gets too negative, but I was in the E.R last week. I've been having really bad chest pains near my heart, luckily wasn't a heart issue but still it really hurts even now while lying down. Just still going through a lot trying to sort it all out and get better but I'm still on the ride with y'all and I'm very hyped for cyberpunk 2077 and more than ever for red dead redemption 2. So close now!!!! And omgggg new Austin being back made me buss a nut tbh

Yeah a part of me thinks it's just mentioned as reference to RDR or something. What gives me hope is the Trusted Reviews leak which had two brand new in-game screenshots, confirmed fishing, hunter senses, moving camps, camps in online and more. It also mentioned you will be able to explore Armadillo or Ridgewood farm.

I said a while back on here that I believe/hope the whole RDR1 map including Mexico will be included in RDR2. If I'm actually right, I might lose my mind playing this game.

If New Austin ended up completely included in the game, in addition to what's believed to be Nuevo Paraíso or new Mexican states, then we'd be looking into a very large map, at least twice the size of Redemption's.

After New Austin being confirmed by R* today I think it's safe to assume the trusted reviews leak was all true. They got literally everything right so far. The one I hope is true though more than anything is the optional first person mode.. thatll make it feel a totally different game! which I think we will get. I think it will be in the next gameplay trailer or left as a surprise for when we launch the game ourselves, I think it's happening though. This game really will be revolutionary and so much work had been put into it for so long don't underestimate any possibilities for what they got planned and could do!!

You're right...it could mean MORE.

 

West Elizabeth seems to have added a new region with Big Valley.  So New Austin could have an expansion as well.

It's in the rockstar collectibles post about one of the trains, it's confirmed to be a place to transport to. Check out this link and look for the train somewhere in the middle of the slideshow , read the description you'll see what I think are states in the game. Hey guys remember me? A few pages back I started a link with an analysis of the RDR2 poster with all of the brands. THE LIST OF BRANDS IS NOW COMPLETE and can be accessed here:  https://goo.gl/yyUAcA    keep in mind that though the list is complete, a bunch of brands were obscured by the edges, piexaltion or the RDR2 logo. You can continue to work on this version as it is open source. If one of the admins wants (@Spidervice), I will transfer ownership to them upon request (need google email address though. Yeah, you theorized about another area or a state to the west of Tumbleweed, probably into California in real life? Sweeping Deserts, as narrated in Gameplay trailer, may very well end up being actual sweeping deserts.

New Austin and Mexico return... Rockstar you never fail to amaze me! 

This is such an awesome surprise, they were my favourite parts of the last game. 

This game is really going to have everything you'd want from a western title.

There are certain risks to the narrative and open world gameplay if New Austin does return in its previous shape and form. Most important to note is how John mentions in RDR that the gang (and John himself) never made it down to New Austin. 

 

My concern mostly stems from the old 2016 leak. (POTENTIAL STORY SPOILER FOR RDR2)

 

While it's entirely possible that things could've changed by now, the confirmation of 5 states as suggested by the leak gives me the impression that much has remained as it once was before this leak. So, if what the leak suggests about endgame content is true, it would probably mean one of two things. It would either mean Rockstar will retcon what John mentioned about New Austin, or it would lock us out of that region entirely post-credits. 

There is one more thing that confuses me. The following quote mentions that Blackwater is a western town.

Assuming that the New Austin map returns as it was, wouldn't that make Blackwater more of a central town on the map? I could be reading too much into it, but I think Rockstar is usually meticulous about what they do or do not include in their descriptions. Granted, they could just be referring to it as a western town in a more general sense, rather than relative to everything else on the game map.

It doesn't have to be post-credits. It can be after Johm leaves the gang/gets shot.
