Probably means little to Rockstar, but the Spider-Man reviews drop on the 4th and the game on the 7th. I believe it's some sort of US holiday over the weekend too? As that's why the Spidey reviews are dropping a little late or something.

Rockstar said merch was coming later this summer.  In typical fashion, they'll announce it on September 21st...the last day of summer.

I'm glad they are releasing the gameplay next week. It's too early and I prefer them showing a few things closer to release instead of showing a bunch of things far away from release (CP2077).

I think next week it is for the next Gameplay Video, right before the Edge magazine comes out to subscribers. Makes sense to show the next gameplay video before the real blow out begins. That might mean we only get two videos, plus the online one later. Or not, I guess, depends on what they wanna show, the previews blowout could include official videos.

 

I think we might have character trailers too. Not just 3 more videos until release lol

It is so weird for Rockstar to not release the artworks officially. I mean its already out in public domain why not just send out high res ones.

They are to be very honest "ill Treating us".

We still dont have any artworks.

IIRC the same thing happened with GTA V, they didn't release the artwork used in the ads instantly, but I could be wrong. They eventually released it all but not sure if it was before or after the ads were put up. They're probably going for that exclusive feeling now

Well, I sure hope the artbook has loads of new artwork inside ... not just the ones that we have seen so far or will see from now till release.

 

Also yeah, next week makes the most sense for gameplay video 2 ... right in time before the first hands-on previews will drop.

GTAV didn't get a fully expanded update on the official site until there was like 4 weeks or less before release. Same might happen here so maybe late Sept after the preview mags?

...and the exclusive character portraits in the CE guide. The art book though shouldn't be a factor as it's concept art, studies, environments and final screenshots for comparison.

Can't take any chances...I pre-ordered the collectors guide and the artbook...LOL.  Missed out on the collectors box though

This is the first game I've gone all out for with regards to physical items.  I fully plan on buying a t-shirt and other stuff depending on what the merchandise selection is like too.

I politely disagree.

Up to this point they showed less for RDR2 than for GTAV. The only point that speaks against this is that RDR2 gets two Gameplay Videos for SP. And I think they will continue with that strategy. 2nd Gameplay Video and Previews in September, an Online Video and the Launch Trailer in October. I don't think there is room for a couple of story/character trailers next to gameplay, previews, online and launch trailer.

 

Like you said R* is going with that exclusive feel and they don't want to show too much with too short breaks in between.

I agree with you ... I also think it's gameplay video 2, online video and a launch trailer as for 'footage in motion' from now till release.

I don't feel like we need a character clip for the gangs' members ... the less they show, the better!

We are just a few weeks away from release, I'm at a point where I just don't care anymore.

I don't demand anything anymore after going through all these droughts over the last two years.

I'm just happy the game is literally around the corner.

I'll shut down internet come October 1 ... these last few weeks I'll wait patiently without watching ANYTHING!!!

Out of nowhere with everyone waiting for info does this hate suddenly start. Lol its absurd.

When the next gameplay trailer comes out everyone will be in awe again.

Its tight and frustrating but we have come through from 2 years of wait to just 2 months. Lets not spoil our mood now!

Is it possible the launch trailer will have some story elements, and also give a little info on the main 7 members featured in the early artwork ?  This is the reason I think we'll eventually see artwork for Micah, Javier, and Bill too.
