I'll get over it if the rest of the game looks great, but I would find it a shame. A fisherman is mentioned in the preview demo. Hope it's not the same case as GTA V where we can see NPCs fishing (or it's supposed to be fishing, they just hold a lineless rod out), but can't do it ourselves.

I actually recently had a dream about RDR2 as well(Monday night?). In the dream, I somehow got the game early like on September or October 18th, I can't remember exactly. This one was legit though, my mind somehow actually came up with a new inventory screen/menu sound effects, and I was running around the Bayou area just listening to Arthur's random phrases and greetings to NPCs. I remember there were some collectibles that had pictures(descriptions as well I think?), reminding me of the database in the AC games.

 

Edit: Oh, and the gore was very similar to Max Payne 3/RDR, with the bullet entry/exit wounds for headshots.

 

Edit 2: Yay now I'm remembering more stuff lol. Ok so the map was very reminiscent of Skyrim/The Crew, where if you zoomed in enough, the map became 3d in a way(from RDR/GTA to Skyrim's style).

Just know that this is a rumor, there's a chance rockstar never had fishing to begin with. So if it doesn't show up in the game then you shouldn't assume it got cut.

A game set in the wild west that's been in development for 8 years. 

 

If they don't have fishing or if they never had fishing, then I have serious doubts about the game lol.

 

That said, I believe some sort of fishing is in the game based on the screenshots of fish hanging at the camps.
