GTA Online Schoolboy Errors

My biggest errors are always the same.

Like, calling a mugger on a player who is in a firefight, knowing he's going to get killed. 
I get the phone call, "Looks like your target went into hiding!" or "Your target went AWOL!"

Also, forgetting to go into Passive when I enter an LSC, clothing shop, hair stylist, tattoo parlor, etc.
It's annoying to come out and find someone waiting for you or has dropped a proximity mine at the door

Thinking that NPC's will fight fairly with believable AI and accuracy.

Believing that R* "wont go back and change stuff from previous updates" only to find the Valkyrie added to Warehouse sales.

Trying to lob a grenade over a wall only for it to hit said wall, bounce back and explode in your face is usually a good one.

My biggest blunder is those late appearing pole or buildings when i fly a plane or a chopper, i knew it's right there but i always caught it, and eventually die in the process

Since I only shoot a rocket between my feet when other tryhards do im honestly not 100% used to that yet, I don't know how many times I aimed an empty rpg between my feet or accidently shot the grenade launcher between my feet in a hurry only for the grenade to bounce away.

Finished a mission at Sandy Shores airstrip, ready to call it a night, when Simeon wants a high-priority vehicle from Del Perro Pier area. 

 

No problem. Grab the Mammatus that's right there, land on the beach, enter the car, get wanted level, get back into the plane to lose the wanted level. 

 

All good. 

 

Back in the car, get a $780 respray at LSC under the overpass...and fall asleep in LSC. 

 

Wake up not yet booted from session, but Simeon no longer wants the vehicle. 

 

Not a big deal, but truly amateurish. 

 

 

I've failed many races (that I hosted) by falling asleep while players joined as well. 

 

 

Lesson learned: None, apparently.

Boosting past my target on the Mk2 instead of firing, although this is at least partially R*'s fault for having a different button for every vehicle. Ditto standing up and sitting down a million times when you're trying to watch tv/access a computer.

 

Also: trying to shoot down a helicopter with the firework launcher.

I recently did this on the DDH with a friend, lol. One of the small corridors at the very end when you’re heading for the Thrusters, the grenade bounced on the ceiling and came back, luckily we were on mic so I was quick to let him now and we could run back from it, but we panicked pretty good there for a second lol

I don't know if this counts, but I'm prone to playing free mode battles too long, eventually wearing myself out - but not heading off. Then I'll find myself in some other big battle, but my mind won't be sharp enough to think things out properly, I'll just be tired out from hours of free mode.

Needed a car for racing and got something of the street. Drove to the garage I wanted it in and completely skipped over the fact that when it is full doesn't transfer the car you replace to another garage and thus I lost my Monroe. That was still competitive at the time.

Me: „oh it looks like shortcut“, lets try it“....

I did something similar. I forgot we had to ditch the plane at the end and had gone to make a sandwich after getting in. I come back and have exactly three seconds of watching my character fall at terminal velocity before hitting the water.

A version of that one is when you clear the misison. Warn the other team mates to watch the rotors, only to see how one of them walk directly in the rear rotor or simply land on top of the main one.

Done that, too, right in the middle of desperately trying to salvage a bunker sale when I needed to hop over the LSIA terminal to fetch a Cargobob...got the limo instead of the Buzzard, and two streets away at that.

I was doing CMM 2 with a member on here. Very last part where we have to run through the narrow hallways and killl the enemies, we've had a mishap before where we shot the explosives in the hall somehow, and died. So i made a point to shoot a grenade down the hall, and it bounced back and kilt me.

i remember two titan of a job blunders i had during gta online earliest days on last gen 360, the 1st one when i was flying the titan to sandy shores airfield and i almost missed it and turned hard right and clipped a tree and ripped off my right wing and exploded.

the 2nd happened when i was again flying the titan to sandy shores airfield and i forgot to lower the landing gear and when i remembered them and lowered them was when i was coming in for a landing and i collapsed them and belly landed the titan (causing me and the randoms who joined to fail the mission).

I remember my first time doing Humane Raid - Valkyrie, I was co-piloting the Valkyrie with no idea a front cannon existed (No, I didn’t see the prompt either). I didn’t think much about what the Valkyrie was equipped with and only thought about how fast I could “get to the chopper”. *Arnold voice

 

Anyway, I cheered on my crew while they were taking out enemy Buzzards. No one said a word to me about not shooting the cannon. Also, I had the highest rank, so I guessed they assumed I knew what I was doing. I swore I had the easiest job by not doing anything. LOL A day or two later, I found out co-pilots could fire a front cannon. I laughed out of embarrassment. LOL

i did a similar thing one time in about 2014 in a mission with a random, part of the mission involved us having to blow up cop cars, i got out of the car lester provided us with and i threw some sticky bombs on the cop cars and accidently threw one on our car leaving me no choice but to detonate them.

The amount of times I have f*cked up a mission that requires you to drive something big, heavy and slow. “Oh look! a short cut down a hill” Only to get smashed in between two trees or rocks and the truck can no longer move, eventually catching fire. Truck destroyed

Or when you're firing behind you while driving during a sale job, and then you look forward again just in time to see the truck sail off the roadway into the water.

There's a perfect spot for this heading on to Elysian Island. If you just miss the open grating bridge you end up in the drink and all your product is gone.

You could've shot the stickies on the cars you were supposed to blow up and leave Lester's car untouched lol

Regarding other player’s, I remember seeing a player run to my car at the beginning of A Titan of a Job, get hit and killed by an oncoming player’s car, spawn, run to my car again, and get hit and killed by another player. I laughed my butt off and at the same time felt bad for them. Their game ended as quickly as it started.

 

I don’t care what the situation may be, I look both ways when crossing. 

 

Another instance, the Prison Break finale. While waiting on the beach for Demolition to pick up the rest of the crew, one my teammates jumped out the plane not knowing how to deploy their parachute. They hit the sand so fast and hard their body bounced halfway across the beach. I jumped out of my chair laughing. Not once did they ask how to use the parachute. I know they were embarrassed after that. I felt embarrassed for them.
