Vehicles to buy but holding out for discounts

I have a list of oldish vehicles I've always wanted to have in my collection, but never got around to buying them, either because they weren't vital for me, or couldn't afford them.  Thanks to After Hours, I now have plenty of cash to start completing my collection.  However, I always try to hold out for discounts, but recently (unless I've missed them) none of these have come up!  Would appreciate advice for when you think a discount may be due for any of these, or if discounts are unlikely etc.  I know it's going to be a guessing game, but I'm willing to try and hold out so I don't spend top dollar on vehicles I probably won't use much!   Here's the list:

 

• Anti-Air Trailer (mainly for Insurgent bunker deliveries) Purchased 16th Oct 2018
• Savage (because it's Russian and powerful) Purchased 16th Oct 2018
• Jetsam Cargobob (would use for I/E)
• Half-Track (always wanted one) Purchased 2nd Oct 2018
• Chernobog (the Russian factor again and looks fun) Purchased 2nd Oct 2018
• Dune FAV (always wanted one)
• Tula (unique plane) Purchased 25th Sept 2018

 

Also, on top of this list, I would like the Orbital Cannon just to finish the look of my Facility, but I can't recall the last time Facility renovations were ever discounted, besides the Facilities themselves!

 

So in your opinion, any sign that any of these are due a discount anytime soon?  Have there been any recent discounts for any of these I may have missed?  Thanks as always!

Discounts are random dude, no one knows. You can look on Social Club for all past discounts.

I can relate to that, I have a list myself. My general rule is if I really like it or its very useful & under $2 Millions, I'll pick it up outright.

 

If you do I/E often, you can pick up the J Bob outright at full price & it'll pay for itself ... Unless you already own an M Bob.

 

The AA trailer is discounted every few months, usually 25%. So you'd save just around $300k. Its up to you decide whether its worth the wait or not. Same with the FAV ($215kish).

 

I'd hold off the Tula, as much as I love mine, $3.8M is a lot of money. We have a Black Friday & a 5th anniversary coming up, who knows

 

The Half-Track & Chernobog are more like novelty vehicles & its up to you to decide.

I even created a spreadsheet with prices, category, priority and planned garages.

 

But it's a bit outdated, stole a futo a few days ago and nothing from AH, DDH or SR is in it.

 

Currently, i mainly wait for a Terrorbyte sale and select my other purchases by personal demand. Most supercars don't really interest me and most a them are a moneysink even on sale because i have still some renovations on my bucket list or vehicles that can do more than driving 2 km/h faster than the ones i already own. This week's been hard on wallet with the MOC, Avenger and the Insurgent. But the norious Zentorno and Tempesta are tempting as well for these prices. 

 

There was recent post on reddit stating that the faciliyt renovations were never on sale so far iirc.

Cool thanks!  Yeah, definitely gonna hold off on the Tula.  Real tempted to get the AA Trailer and Cargobob sooner though.  But as you say, got that Black Friday and 5th anniversary happening!  Argh lol!

Cool, thanks for the facility comment.  I'd buy the Terrorbyte as soon as you can though!  Mine has paid for itself multiple times over already.  Running those client missions, along with VIP missions back to back generates me hundreds of thousands of dollars with little effort in a short amount of time.  Making a 100k doing it feels like nothing at all!  Nothing at all!  NOTHING AT ALL!!!

 

It's partly due to the Terrorbyte why I have the most money in game than I've ever had before.

Haha neat.  Do we know when Black Friday and the Anniversary drops will happen?

 

Solo public or full session, doesn't matter too much with VIP and Client missions as you can do them fairly quick with little interference.  I do this on top of my 210k bunker sales, and nightclub warehouse sales.

Black Friday and/or Christmas have had juicy discounts on all kinds of stuff the last year or two, and they're coming up soon-ish, so if you can hold out til then I wouldn't be surprised if you could check most of your list off on the cheap.

Yea, what's up with that. They discontinued the Facility's Security room, Styles & Graphics, but not the Cannon, Lounge or Sleeping Quarters ... Wtf?!

 

Quick trivia: as much as they love to discount the Hangars & their Renovations, they never discounted the Hangars' sleeping quarters.

The Anniversary discounts usually happen in the last week of October.

 

The Black Friday discounts in the last week of November.

Yessir! I picked a Pyro & a 'Bushka half off at last year's BF, Alongside the Luxor Deluxe which was 75% off! Seventy-frickin-Five!!!! I still can't believe it lol.

 

A few years ago, the BF sale had everything on Warstock & Elitås half off!

I usually buy the newer items on my main character and wait for a discount or sale to buy them on my second. After trying them for myself I save money by only buying the things I like and that I know will work well.

Oh boy, here i go grinding again.

 

I though Pyro would be a useful addition to my collection. And honestly, i'd never buy the Luxor deluxe for the full price, but 75% off for an interior fitting to a CEO might be worth it.

 

I'm so running behind content i don't know where to start. Right now i'm happy that i was able to afford 2 of the 3 special vehicles this week, altough they're not tuned at all yet.

I second this, Bob and Savage are the most useful things to own and the AA trailer is a nice little thing to have. I'd say if want one of these don't brother waiting for a sale.

I wouldn't even bother waiting for a discount on the Savage. I did wait for the discount on my guy character but after I stopped playing him I bought it for my girl at full price even without the discount for finishing the heist and it was worth every cent I paid for it.

You could get the Halftrack on full price and it’d still be extremely worth it, but you’ll want to upgrade it too so the price is still higher than full price lol.

 

That said, I love it. A while ago me and a friend took on an Oppressor Mk2. He was chasing us, mind you, and we all know how easy it usually is to kill people while chasing them with the Oppressor Mk2. I was driving, my friend did the shooting. I don’t know how many rockets we tanked, but it was a LOT. We survived for several minutes while the enemy was chasing us, and my buddy ultimately shot him down.

I’m using the quad cannon. The sound of it is so mean, plus the sound of the truck itself. The gunner will survive rockets hitting him. The front windows are 100% bulletproof (the side windows are not).

Granted, you’ll want a friend to get the most out of it - but you WILL find use for it and it’s hella fun.

Isn't the quad .50 unlocked via bunker research? I know the proximity mines are. That makes the halftrack potentially one of the most expensive vehicles in the game. The bunker research is exhausting and demoralizing to complete but the juice is worth the squeeze in the long run. It's value has decreased now that the oppressor mk2 comes with the missiles unlocked.

Yes, of course, I think you’re right about that! Was a while ago that I unlocked all research so I kind of take it for granted these days... Then the Half-track might not be as good a purchase after all.. but if one has unlocked the research, I say go for it.

Done all my research within a couple months of Gun Running wanted that grind well out of the way lol. The worst thing about research is the camos. Why the f*ck are technicians working on paint jobs?! Get back to making my weaponry you slackers!!

Savage, half track ,and chernobog. I have seen some people do some interesting stuff with the chernobog in a bad sport lobby, one guy was in a parking garage his friend was in a tank on a lower floor you should of seen it bodies flying off the parking garage left and right that thing can do some damage. I have no idea about the discounts honestly but those would be my choices.

I never thought in a million years I'd buy the LD online, but I just couldn't resist that discount.

 

 

I still prefer my Nimbus though, same high end interior without the restricted cheesy gold paint.

So, of the items on your list, the Savage, Chernobog, and Dune FAV are mostly garbage and, unless you just want them for pure fun/vanity, should be avoided. The Savage isn't too strong, has a huge cross section, and can't be insta-summoned in the way the Buzzard can while you're a CEO. The Chernobog's deploy time means you basically need someone to fly into you after you're setup, and the Dune FAV requires a fair bit of aftermarket mods (read: more cash) to make it worthwhile.

 

I'm sitting on 70m myself and there's nothing I desperately want, but I'd certainly pick up a B-11, Terrorbyte/OpMk2, and maybe a Deluxo if they were at 35%+ discounts.

The Chernobog is the last Facility vehicle I don't own, I'd never use it so I can't bring myself to pay full price. But I'll buy it if I see a 30%+ sale.

 

Same for the Strikeforce, I really want it but not for 3.8 mill.

 

It would take a 50% off sale to sell me the Lazer, but I might actually buy it for that.
