Ambarino confirmed to be in the Grizzlies. How big is the map, and how big do you want/need it to be?

The jury is still out on whether we will see Mexico, but Ambarino is in the Grizzlies if you go down on that page to where it talks about them. Do you guys think there will still be another section or two of map, to ultimately make this bigger in size than GTA V? Or perhaps what they mean by it being bigger is vertically through building and mountains that you can go into. I for one am hoping there is a possibility that the map really is bigger than GTA V.....that would be amazing, to explore such a large map only on horseback, it will feel like you had an entire real life country to explore to our perceptions. Also for those who want to say no it would be to big, remember there will be many fast travel options for you to use. You don't have to travel for a second on that dirt path and get your clothes dirty, you can venture forth through carriage like the ritzy futz you are, and appear there seconds later. I for one will manually travel, and the larger the map the better for this.

 

Though if it isn't bigger than GTA V or maybe it's almost as big or the same, then if we are able to go into all of the buildings for realism I feel that would even it out. Thoughts? I understand that all of the games cities and towns will be immensely detailed and bustling with life, but can you imagine on top of this a map larger than GTA V. I would be lost in the world, they'd find me dead with a smile on my face on my couch, at a ripe old age don't worry haha. I never quite understood the complaints about the map size. Not that you are complaining OP, you are clearly not. But I've seen too many people say the map is "tiny" and it's just not true. 

I mean, this is Little Creek on the map

It's actually a large open area with probably a hundred trees, then there are cabins, landmarks and a gang hideout. And that is just the tip of the iceberg when you look at the map as a whole and consider that New Austin is likely returning.  I feel like the map is actually pretty damn big.

I feel that no matter how they go about it whether it truly is bigger (which would be incredible) or roughly the same size as GTA V, it will still feel bigger than ever before. Immersion helps a lot to add to that. I hope it's bigger either way but there will be so much to see and do that it won't feel small by any stretch.

For me, it is not about the size of the map. For example,  I enjoyed Yakuza 0 yet map is only couple of streets. It is more about immersion, detailed settlements,  things to do, wildlife etc..

Also, we shouldn't forget that there won't be any sports cars or fighter jets, hopefully lol. That means map will seem to be larger than GTA V anyway, even if it isn't.  Personally,  I think map will be at least 1.5x size of GTA V map. If not twice.

Personally I want the map to be large BUT immersive too. In GTA V, there is too much dead areas that are barely used. In RDR, some parts were not that great (Torquemada for example) while other parts were great (Tall trees, Blackwater, El Presidio.....). Fast travel should be in the game for those who don't want to roam all the time.

Honestly I'm happy with whatever we get. We know that there will be Forests, Snowy Mountains, Deserts, Cities, Plains, Swamps and maybe even a jungle. That's everything I've wanted since the game was announced. There's no way the map can be that small with all those biomes
