Who created the Ratman myth in GTA IV?

hey so I know the ratman in gta iv is fake and it just a legend that a player created. but I still want to know who created this myth, so do you know him?

I almost wonder if it was someone from Rockstar who decided it'd be a good idea to make up a "myth" to spread about the game. Seeing what happened with the craze about bigfoot and UFOs in SA, maybe they figured a new myth would help sell some more copies to crazed people looking for things that don't exist in the games.

good point! but I wondering why would Rockstar make a myth about a weird rat creature XD there is also alot of references in the game about Ratman, but I still don't understand that weird photo, it looks like a white guy with a lab coat

Just to add some extra hype to the game. When you look at the kinds of viral marketing they've done in the past (including the "deepthroatgta4" posts that ended up being by a Rockstar employee promoting the first trailer for the game, and even as far back as GTA2 having baggies of plastic "pills" with the logo on them dropped around E3 1999 and at one point attempting to spread a false story that an employee of theirs was murdered), it makes sense that they'd also probably start up false rumors about ratmen and bigfoot in their games to hype them up.

I guess the only true myth of Rockstar Games is the Aliens in GTA 5
