Especially on youtube and reddit where the whole thing is made fun of now (Praise Geraldo!).  Edited July 8, 2019 by Journey_95

Their E3 showing this year (CP2077) was pretty lacklustre to say the least. Red Dead Redemption 2's singleplayer is amazing and a huge step up from GTA V and I can only imagine that with GTA 6, R* will blow everything and everyone out of the water. There literally was no new entry in the series over an entire console life-cycle, so expect big things from GTA 6. really? people said CP77 was lacklustre? And you think RDR2 has good gameplay? Algonquin Assassin 49,642
I don't know, but I just don't get the Cyberpunk 2077 hype. Even when I watched some of the E3 footage it didn't do much to inspire. The only reason I think I would buy it is because of the setting, but then again I've bought many games based on their setting and been left disappointed so I'll reserve judgment until some reviews start floating around and make up my mind if it's worth buying. Â I fell for the same trap with The Witcher 3 and got bored of it and then traded it in. Lesson learned. Â Â
Jason 28,018
Different strokes for different folks, innit. Witcher 3 is one of the best games of all time for many, many people, so the next game from CDPR was always going to be mega-hyped and the setting which hasn't really been explored before in games outside of a few exceptions has just added more fuel to the hype train for many.  Personally the E3 2018 demo just looked like a really f*cking good game to me. I wasn't completely blown away by anything it was doing mechanically or systematically but a proper RPG done in futuristic urban open-world is something I've wanted for a looooooooong time.
6fangedcutthroatTV 323
Rockstar and T2 are on record saying they do not compete with other companies and do their own thing. If they see others doing something they like, they do it, too. They are out to make the best entertainment products for their audience. Simply put, their audience is not really that interested in the other games. Everyone likes another open world game or another, however, Rockstar's audience is not the masses who play their games. Most people who buy and play GTA do not even finish the story. Edited July 9, 2019 by HelloMyNameIsHuman

Grotti Vigilante 1,278
I mean the devs said last year not to expect it to be like GTA, and all we have are trailers and a demo. Even if Cyerpunk is anything like it there will be serious further works needed before it dethrones GTA, by which point Rockstar will already be one step ahead with more ambitious open-world titles in which they have become masters of making. All they have to do is not mess things up in terms of open world development and they're probably going to be fine. So far Cyberpunk 2077 isn't much of a threat. Edited July 14, 2019 by Grotti Vigilante

Zello 18,744
I wish the next GTA would come out in 2020 so it could go head to head with Cyberpunk 2077 for the GOTY awards. It'd be like watching two undefeated boxers go up against each other. Edited July 17, 2019 by Zello

Mr Zedd 164
Cyberpunk is a lot more complex than a casual game like gta, and seems much more mature, meaningful and rewarding experience. Interesting to note: cdpr likes rockstar developers and are inspired by them, so don't think they intend to compete against them, or getting cyberpunk compared with gta. Its different than a gta game. Simply going by the details revealed so far, i am already excited. gta games end up being boring too soon, while cyberpunk feels like a game with more replay value to me, which definitely gives the game a greater advantage over gta already.

Gta did the same with 4, in my experience. I see Cyberpunk more inspired by Deux Ex and Detroit, since they all deal with androids unlike Gta. No pun intended, but both games feel in a different ball game in which Gta will survive the tournament.

What fascinates me about cyberpunk is cdpr's history of offering value for money single player campaigns, plus the open world backdrop feels much more vibrant, alive and fun (based on info)

I known San Andreas better than my hometown. I've been playing this game since it's release and I've completed it countless times. And I can say the same thing about III, VC, IV and V too. Cyberpunk 2077 hasn't even been released yet. I fail to see how it can compete with GTA regarding replay value

I fail to see how it can compete with GTA regarding replay value you're right here, i stand corrected. I didn't want to imply all gta games. Yes, we have 3d era gtas with high replay value, which I failed to take into consideration. By replay value, I was mainly comparing cyberpunk with replay values of gtas like iv and v, and yes, too early to speak about an unreleased game but going by cdpr track record, especially witcher 3, i don't think cyberpunk will disappoint fans when it comes to a longer, satisfying single player campaign

Guest Billy Russo
Meh.  I doubt it. They are very different games. I have no doubts Cyberpunk will be good, but I don't think it will appeal to the same type of people that GTA appeals to on a large scale.
Lotte 874
As much as i'd love for other developers to challenge rockstar at what they do with GTA, I don't think cyberpunk is going to really do that just because it's so different from GTA (unless they spring a lot of surprise similarities on us post launch)

If you're on PC, you can easily mod the bad UI and textures. The Witcher 2 was better than The Witcher 3, imo. I get people praising CDPR themselves for being the good guys, but the praise for The Witcher 3 is undeserved. I think it's a very good game, but nothing game-changing.
XXVIII 1,179
Cyberpunk: 2077 will indeed be breathtaking, bringing with it depth in its lore, character customization, its futuristic environments clutched by trails of synthwave wafting out of vehicle windows, among other genres that will render the player trancelike, whilst his/her peripheral vision is attacked by a vibrant spectrum of neon placards and respectable architecture. 🙂  Having said that, to the regard of the next Grand Theft Auto installment, my postulation continues to ride its own momentum on the firm grounds that this experience is going to feel the rage. It will be a caliber of rage that is boundless and far-reaching, soaring ambitiously and unabashedly above the threshold of what its predecessor sought to accomplish, but respecting its milestones and legacy all the same.  This new installment’s presence will be felt with one, succinct glimpse of its presentation as a still frame or action in motion. The notion is that it takes two, but in the context of Rockstar Games’ next feat, it will only take one, to be one of the many to succumb to whiplash; the Next Generation of whiplash. A wave of ‘unreal!’ One look at the prelude to a dream. A preliminary taste of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett via the introductory screen and this game going all in.... 😱  Cyberpunk: 2077 and the new installment are poised to be showstoppers within their own class. CD PROJEKT RED and Rockstar Games will undoubtedly exude and exceed pride along side their finished gems. It will be amazing to see when these two new benchmarks of perseverance are unleashed on the public and video game industry. It will be... very fun times. 🙂 Edited July 24, 2019 by XXVIII There was spacing between two words that I had to correct.

GinsengElixir 461
Commercialy or creatively? Jakub1904 317
I don't think so.
