Did a more intrusive mod get released?

I play on PC and read the chat screen and they were openly chatting about mods. This occurred in 3 of the sessions I played in.  

 

It it looks like they can change the weather.  I went into a lobby with snow and got out of there after a tree spawned on my characters’a head.  

 

They can can also change my view of the game.  They changed the filter, can’t think of the name, so I would be playing the game in a different filter.  Filter, as in the filters in the editor.  

 

That at is pretty intrusive since they can manipulate those two settings.  Weather and filter.  

 

Still not as intrusive as manipulating your cash and RP.

Eh, they can pretty much change anything. 

 

While in other games you have cheaters with aimbots who are invulnerable, here you have players with literal godmode, since they can spawn and change anything in the game.

Probably. Something new I've seen is the modders getting rid of all npcs and all traffic. Seems the weather would be in a similar setting. I'm getting pretty tired of it all. No, I'm super tired of it all. I haven't wanted to play all week. All this crap has me feeling like it's time to move on. Hopefully rdr isn't 30 frames/s on console. I'll skip it if it is.

PC is a fair/legit gamer's nightmare. It's nigh impossible to go back to console and play at <30fps and 16:9 ratio after your eyes have been treated to the promised land. I much prefer the player base on console too. The catch 22 is all too real for those of us that are forced to choose tween the two.

Yeah I'm not surprised. You can even be banned by another player apparently according to some reputable sources.

Aye they are but there's either a server setting for it or people are manipulating client data. And that's not a first anyway (remote stat setting like people being ranked up or unlocks happening without doing anything).

You can, and it will reduce things a little bit, but you can't turn it off outright. 

 

Besides the AI spawning seems to have an association with the player - if player X disables traffic and NPCs through an option in their mod menu, when they get nearer to player Y, they'll start seeing traffic and NPCs spawning naturally again despite what that option to disable it, being on in the mod menu. 

They may have found out a way to bypass that and also manipulate vehicle and NPC values for other players.

HOW are you people not afraid to play in freeroam on PC lmao only thinking about it creeps me out.. One of those snow lobbies might leave a mark on your account that might get picked by the anti-cheat and we all heard what happens next to unsuspecting players..

I wouldn't mind if one of these changed my contrast to 100 tho, it makes the game look way closer to real life and its a damn shame there's no option to apply it to gameplay...

I just played in a lobby... THAT HAD EVERYONE OFF THE RADAR! And what was cool about it is that as soon as you registered as a CEO, unlimited Ghost Organization was enabled. LOVED IT! I don't usually back modder/S.K but I can get used to this.

The frequency and diversity only works for the story mode, in online it can't work due to the synchronization with the rest of the players..

The only slider that works in online is the distance scaling which doesn't affect the other players.

I expect my account to be banned every time I log in. Its just as likely to get banned because some scriptkid left a mark on your account, as getting steam rolled by R* anti-cheat running amok.

Its like a perverse version of russian roulette.

Thing is, there is nothing we can do about it, so we just keep playing as long as we can.

Was MrBossFTW in there? His cronies usually do that to keep him safe. 

Btw I agree those glitched OTR sessions are great. I really wish there was sessions like that in GTAO, chases are much better imo and it makes PvP so much more tense ...and spawn killing much harder.

I haven't entered a public lobby for over a year, for exactly this reason.

I have accustomed myself to missing out some major gameplay options (business), but found out anyway I can have much fun using those options remaining for closed lobbies. Business would be nice for the bigger money, sure, but for me it's simply not worth the risk of losing my account.

Would R* just script mission gameplay related to business operations (fetch stuff from interesting interiors, some delivery missions etc.) into a selection of new contact missions or client jobs, I would even stop pestering them about making available business operations for closed lobbies, although the latter would indeed be the decent solution for R* to address the fact that public freemode on PC has failed, as simple as that.

Couldn't see anything related to the weather setting for other players in the menu on the link you posted - it most likely would've been for the client only. The weather can be changed like that via memory but to get it to work for the entire session something else must be getting done.
