silly_nate
Something that’s always bugged me is that Tumbleweed, a town that was possibly just as powerful as Armadillo, died out because the railroad tracks skipped the town, but relatively close (not the point of this thread but still some food for thought), is a Benedict Point, a train station with one tiny shack for the person who looks after the area. Why? How? No train stop for the big ol’ town but let’s place one in the middle of nowhere! *New Austin politician logic* Non Funkable Token, Liberty-TG and USAPatriot
VikingCat32
I believe Benedict Points makes sense on the map. The oil fields are just to the east and it's the last stop before Mexico. So it's a a great spot for loading/unloading workers, and freight. silly_nate and Non Funkable Token

Tumbleweed's big downfall was the lack of fresh water nearby or food, but it did have a steady stream for job with the mining, oil, etc nearby. Even a "Safe" location atop a bluff. But it was also common practice for railroads to make small depots as supply drops or shift changing locations. Very common in agriculture country for farmers to quickly load supplies.... except Benedict Point had no reason.... or point of being there. It was sort of a middle finger to Tumbleweed. Maybe would have been worth moving some of Tumbleweed down there then.... Tumbleweed I think would have been a much more substantial town then Armadillo, and I don't see Armadillo being a successful town in the future. It will probably die out as well as it has no redeemable value being located in a prime location for flash floods, in an arid scrubland desert. Same can be said for Rathskeller Fork... SherifWayne
I really hope Tumbleweed is thriving in RDR2, it doesn't have to be bustling with life but if there's people and shops I'll be happy. I know the camp is a major element of the story but I must say I will be disappointing if we can't buy property. I love Dutch and the gang as much as anybody but I really hate the hippie communes that games seem to think we like calling home. Sorry but I want to buy a shack in the woods and go off for weeks at a time Jeremiah Johnson style, then return to my little home by the bar in Tumbleweed and relax. Your post is from before RDR2 was released. How did you know that Tumbleweed was in the game?
