It's October 2013 Again...

When my Asea was the rarest car in the game and people would come to my stickerbomb car cause they never seen it before. Also trying to get into rooftop rumble. Back when it was good and paid 25k for 3 mins of work. The good ol' days.

For me (PC) it was April 2014...Just running around like a headless chicken, wondering if those white dots were actual players or what?

One thing I do remember, is me (finally after a few hours of roaming around) snatching up a Sandking XL in Grand Señora, then driving it off to my 6 car garage in LS, praying no other player would destroy me and my newfound streetcar.

To this day it's still in my first garage, ehhe.. In fact on my (now secondary) male character, I emulated that first six car garage, with all my original cars (Banshee, T20, Osiris, ELegy, Carbon RS and Sandking XL). It's a damn trip down memory lane whenever I walk in there… Nostalgia… 🙂

Also remember playing funmw's job at the o'neil farm.

Good times.

Holy crap, I was trying to remember the name of that job! I think that job alone was responsible for about 200 levels on my character. And it was a f*cking g blast.

For me it was June 2017. (Yeah, I'm late to the party so I have some catching up to do.)

My goto was passive mode or someplace to hide from you guys that got bored of robbing stores and doing contact missions. The thought of actually making money was far away, hidden behind the fear of everything unknown. Once I started getting going it was 2x racing and contact missions. Steal a baller, go fight contractors at the contstruction site for 10 minutes, deliver baller.

Yeah, the one where you had to steal a tractor, if remember that right.

It payed good $ and was basically one big co-op mission, for more than  just 4 players.

Making $9000 playing violent duct each time for a mission that took less than 30 seconds to beat. Rooftop rumble paying out $25,000 for destroying the document which took less than 20 seconds to do. Having competent teammates in survivals. Racing down the drain in stock cars before upgrades were unlocked. Getting my custom Futo as my first car. Good times :)

Step aside noobs I'm a veteran.

Sniping players from roofs and other PvP stuff. Driving around in my Obey 9F. Shortly after I bought an Entity which was my fav car for months. Also I bought an Adder and made it evolve into a Chradder (no dollar rims though). Ah I remember when I was able to store a Rhino and Lazer in my garage, good times. Took me freaking 6 hours to glitch the darn Lazer in. But then Johnny on the spot was able to deliver me a Lazer which was awesome.

during the modding wave, when the nice modder gave me free money, i should have bought a 10 car garage, fill it up with fully upgraded adders, and then once rockstar takes everyone's money, i would sell all of the adders.

Black Terminator

My go to do stuff back in 2013 was to do Rooftop Rumble, trying to find a place to live which was cheap and not expensive. Also doing a bunch of land races plus trade wins to unlock the colors with my ex crew and current friends. As well as doing the ballas to walls missions. Yes, I was addicted to that mission besides Rooftop Rumble. Scouting the map for the shorts to take during a huge jam if I was to get double to triple teamed by a group of people. Robbing stores just get some rp on. I know it's sad but a few times I was not with my friends. Try to find which radio station would be my favorite.

Cackling Jack

For me it was 2014. Hitting stores, contact missions and surivals. Just before heists it was the only money method ppl taught me. Times have changed.

Heists were the go-to for me in 2015 when the game first launched for PC. Can't believe I had it in pre-order for 2 years.

That was definitely the one. Once word got out about the massive RP, it was almost impossible to join. Still, some of the best 2013 fun ever.

I played survivals on repeat with friends for fun as I did not need money as was lucky enough (XB 360) to have loads of money dropped for me back in the day that set me up with all vehicles and everything I needed. I remember claiming a bounty once that got me $50m LOL

A friend show us a way to farm sandking XLs when we started playing. Had a garage full of these (they sell for 20k) and still have 2 of them left as a memorial from simpler times. We felt so rich back then.

Doing land races to unlock new vehicle mods and colors for my Übermacht Oracle and my Bravado Buffalo (oh, that sense of achievement).

Doing survivals to afford new vehicles, vehicle mods and an apartment+garage.

Grinding missions for team-based fun while making a buck (looking at you, RR).

Saving up for my first very own Carbonizzare. Still got it, still love it, but rarely drive it.

I actually recently got the Vigero and Gauntlet and upgraded both. Really fun and cool cars even though it's a shame they're so common... I don't think I've owned the Gauntlet ever before. I've sold the Vigero once... but this time around I won't sell them!

Oh, yeah. Early days of car jacking is what inspired my all-muscle Office Garage. Still working on that collection though

Lonely-Martin

Low level stuff that's often overlooked or not needed etc. Robbing stores, and cars to sell, street races, adventuring with friends and meeting new gamers (Good and bad folk too, but even the 'bad' we're often entertaining or decent humans, you know, lol).

Good times. Unlocking things was always something I'd enjoy, and with DDH and this last DLC, they added to that with awards and items to collect too. Still some 'old game' left. Those business battles are a good alternative to old gen freemode fun, but I did like those too. :)

Zee Gate Keepa

Contact missions, selling Ballers to LS Customs, robbing liquor and convenient stores, along with armored cars.

I remember questioning what the hell an armored car (the Kuruma) was doing in the game. That wasn't 2013 though, but still, was a while ago. I thought only n00bs used it. Took me maybe 1-2 years before I got one myself, solely to use it for the Pac Standard garage exploit. Still rarely drive armored cars in free-roam, tbh. Still think if you need an armored car to survive in this game, you're playing the wrong game. Or playing the game wrong.

What has this place become? Noobs talking to veterans like this? Is this acceptable nowadays?

I served this game for 5 years. I lived through legendary eras you can only dream of. I lost GTAO friends in the PS4 vs. Xbox One battle. Show some respect. Kneel before me and the other veterans here and kiss our veteran rings. Acknowledge our unreachable superiority.

FuturePastNow

My first month was June 2015. I robbed a lot of 24/7s. Did a lot of driving around exploring the city and marveling at its odd weather, what with money bags raining from the sky and explosions killing everyone.

I also played a lot of deathmatches, survivals, races etc which I never do now. So I think I actually played a greater variety of activities when I was new.

Please, the moment I realized I could jump over stuff on a Bati 801, it was game over for me.

I mean, the Processed Survival was all I did for about a month, until I discovered Rooftop Rumble, Potshot, and Coveted.
And racing the Commute became an obsession.

But, again, it was the simple stunt jumping on a motorcycle that got me going and to create this old, pre-Oppressor thread.
And honestly, it's still – STILL – how I spend the majority of my time in this game. Except when I'm hanging with the ladies, of course. ;)

Respect is earned. Demanding it will only get you contempt.

And a sustained volley of rockets to Uranus.

Oh, and be careful putting that finger out there to have the ring kissed... you could lose the finger and find the ring with those rockets.

Oh, I remember that day very well.

I remember saying: "What do you mean, I have to work?"

Anyway, Racing it was. Yes.

Then switching to Invite Only and seeing what kiind of trouble I could get into.

Was pleased to find the answer being: All the trouble.
