Icanhandlerejection
8 Track race at the arena as your driving skill should be high enough. Pimp missions to level 10, as the required car is always available. I thought there were seven total safe house? 1. Grove Street 2. House south of Clucking Bell but north of the Truck Depot 3. Beach House by the pier 4. Apartment near the Mall 5. Small House in Balla territory near the Hospital 6. House in Cesar's hood south of Unity Station and north of the Airport 7. House in the hills near Mad Dog's Crib and extremely overpriced with a tiny garage Curious on Jump 35 didn't you get a 3 star wanted level and have to make a harrowing swim back to shore? Do not remember if you get credit per Oyster (although I think you do) which would be 11 Oyster in Los Santos, 2 in Palimino, 2 in the river to the south of Blueberry, 3 under the bridges near the trucking company, 1 under the railroad bridge to Las Venturas, and 1 just off the beach near the Panopticon. 20 in total of which I recall all the Los Santos oyster being safe to collect, the 2 in Palimino being safe, the 2 near Blueberry being safe, and the 1 just off the beach being safe. The 3 oysters near the trucking company can earn you a wanted level and I amfairly certain trying to get the one under the railroad bridge will earn a wanted level. OrionSR
13.37% is max progress on a starter save, usually. Some newer versions have the gyms unlocked earlier allowing for a bit more progress. In LS, it looks like you are still missing 8-Track at the LS stadium. Then make a backup save because things will start to get really fun. You'll need to learn how to survive with a constant 4-star wanted level as you complete missions in restricted territory. Snapshots, Oysters, Horseshoes, 3 more stadium events, 2 more couriers, Chilliad Challenge, NRG Challenge, and... I'm probably forgetting something. The key missions, IMO, are the courier asset. Once you learn how to control the cops by driving slowly and turning a lot it's a lot easier to navigate the map and complete collections and other activities. Check out the 4-star guide for strategies. Icanhandlerejection

My experience in San Andreas is limited to the ps2 version, and I recall being allowed to wander north into the Carlotta badlands but not west toward Mount Chiliad without getting a wanted level. I do remember all bridges to the Las Venturas area being closed to vehicles with the exception of the two railroad bridges (no clear memory of the condition of the railroad bridge by Palimino Creek and never bothered trying to cross the railroad bridge from San Fierro). OrionSR
Pimping, I knew I forgot something. What else? The older PS2 games have the same mission availability as PC. It's the newer mobile and remastered versions that have the gyms unlocked early. You are correct, all bridges to SF and LV are blocked by barriers at this stage of the game, but there are ways around the barriers. CJ can swim the channels, steal planes from the LS airport, find boats, jump rivers in cars and motorcycles and super-jump the barriers on some bridges with a BMX. But as you mentioned, once in restricted territory CJ will have a constant 4-star wanted level. This can be quite overwhelming at first; it takes a while to learn the safe routes and how to snag vehicles or find food and armor, but with practice it becomes second nature. And, it's a great deal of fun. Edited August 26, 2018 by OrionSR Icanhandlerejection
Icanhandlerejection
Curious if you found the Rhino.from the restricted area was available as you were wandering about the forbidden zones. My recollection is that when the bridge restrictions are lifted it was a 50 - 50 chance that a Rhino would be available. I typically used the vigilante missions to max out my cash total before proceeding with the second half of the storyline. ChasingCoyote
also something not mentioned yet by the most venerable players above, is that 3 of Carls girlfriends are available to meet from the start of the game. and CAN be dated early, Katie, meet in Avispa Country Club (just south of Burger shot, in San Fierro), Michelle meet at driving school (not yet unlocked, but enterable)and Barbara at the El Quebrados Sherrifs office. (I usually do NOT meet Barbara until desert is opened because she can become active and call you up while in Red County) Girlfriends progress, like Unique Stunt Jumps, is not required for 100%, but they ARE fun to complete early! Curious do the authorities allow you to finish your coffee if you are invited in for one? Also, sad to hear that Ms Lawyer is not available...her blasting away at the shooting range is almost as annoying as the Magnum Force police officers trailing me while driving around in the Rhino. On a serious note, I assume the date locations are open in all the various cities, or it would be one failed date after another. Lastly a driving date would be an extreme hazard as the most foolproof method of success for a driving date was driving in reverse to acieve the optimal speed. OrionSR
If you can get the invite for coffee the police will not interfere, but it can be difficult to complete a date successfully in restricted territory. The general rule is that the date fails immediate with the 4-star wanted level. The exception to this is to exploit the oyster bonus to bring any of the 4 non-storyline girlfriends below 0% up to 45% progress when the last oyster is collected. This will enable Michelle's special She-Drives date which doesn't fail despite the wanted level. There are always new strategies being developed, but I think the off-mission no-wanted level exploit is still restricted to after Green Sabre when the airliner flight unlock. This would allow Barbara to be dated before entering the desert but I don't think it helps with the other girlfriends.
