It seems like ramming the runner's vehicle from behind is a tactic?

More and more I see the defenders ramming the running vehicle in that new adversary mode (totally forgot the name). At first I thought it was just some crappy noobs who didn't realize they're supposed to make sure I make it to the end safely? So there are a few players out there on PSN that if you ever happen to see this and remember my name, I am sorry for ruining the 2nd round for us in retaliation, it seems I was the noob who didn't realize you were trying to help me gain speed? But in my defense one of you kept trying to PIT me... But still.

Now I wonder which tracks this technique works in? I know for sure it doesn't seem to be effective in track I...

am i even correct in assuming it's a technique?? I've only been the runner 3 times total and haven't been able to see how it affects me personally

sorry if this should've gone in a specific forum...

Thank you, that is very helpful. Just what I was hoping for.

It’s easier to be negative around here.

But yeah, we’ve been pushing the delivery driver especially with the remix involving boost vehicles.

Of course it makes sense to push the runner to gain a little bit of extra speed. It's a common tactic and quite effective if everybody knows what they are doing.

Most of the time if somebody's up my ass it'd send me into a spin so I'd be worried about trying this tactic.

I saw this too. Seemed to work. First I thought "oh great we got a troll on our team trying to sabotage us". But then I realized he's trying to help and while he kept pushing the truck I was staying behind fending off the 2 attackers.

With the Dune runner and Vigilantes the attacker have ahard time catching up at all.

Heck, if someone pushes well those Scramjets won't be able to catch up until about 70% of the track.

This.

If you're the runner all you need are some decent driving skills and they won't be able to catch up or pit you. All my racing would come in quite handy in this mode if I didn't hate it with a passion.

I dunno, though. some of the heavier runners, Festival Bus and Pounder Custom seem harder to push. Ramming them from behind makes the defender spin out or come to a stop really quickly.

And besides, the Dune already has a high top speed even though its weakness is that it can easily flip. I remember a fellow attacker managed to drive under it and cause it to go airborne and boost jumped into it punching it hard off the  track.
