Are Modders Able to Ban Players on PC?

Recently, in multiple different scenarios I’ve been threatened to be banned by modders. After talking sh*t and killing players, things in chat would come up like “should I ban this guy” or in another instance “you know I can ban you lmao”. I just immediately switch sessions after that because I don’t want to risk anything.

 

Is this really possible though? Can modders actually ban other players?

Yeah they can do it. They just need to be able to set certain stats on you and you're done for. 

 

Fortunately it seems that knowledge has been contained but who knows, it might be widespread later.
