Xbox One X - Worth the upgrade?

Recommended Posts

Owedem Wingy

Soooo....

I currently own an Xbox one S. I do have a 4k HDR TV. I never touch my xbox currently as I have a top spec PC that runs games at 144fps, so to play on my xbox, I DO notice the 30fps lol.

I will ofc have to wait until the PC drop of RDR2, Is it worth me upgrading to the One X so that I can have 60fps and 4K too, for the sake of a few months to a year or so.

Probably not 60fps, but 4K yes?

I read that the Gameplay was recorded on the PS4 on 4K.

No! I said you dont get 60FPS AND 4K.

I think we can play RDR2 with 30FPS and 4K.

Well the xbox one X is capable of 60fps so it is a possibility.

xBox One can too do 60FPS, or a nintendo switch or PS4...

I think you cant play RDR2 with 60FPS, this is my last post here :) Better wait for the release .

Yes it is worth it!! We don't know if RDR2 will be 60 FPS or not but honestly since you have a 4k especially, the Xbox one x is a damn good console. Very fast loading times, smooth interface, smoother gameplay, more options like PC, etc. RDR2 will be a monster on that system man... Already confirmed for 4k, HDR, and Xbox one x enhanced. Which even if it isn't 60 FPS, it does mean the frame rates and everything have been adjusted accordingly, it will play best on X

To me, the upgrade to the X was definitely worth every dime. It is a great console and I haven't had fps drops below 25 in ages. Most games run at 40-45 fps, if not clocked max at 30 fps.

Cod runs 60 fps, but yeah... it keeps being Cod xD not my game.

Forza Horizon looks absolutely dropdead gorgeous in 4K 60 FPS

I’ve had the base Xbox One since launch, and even though I’m a PC player i have a fairly decent rig, the jump to the X for me is astonishing compared to how my old base one ran & looked...so yeah haha it was worth it!

I’m in the same situation, normal xbox one and a normal tv but a really powerful pc. I would say no, I think the game will be amazing on the original xbox one as well, maybe not quite as sharp textures and slightly lower draw distances, lower peak fps and all that, but the difference isnt huge imo. I’m probably going to buy this game twice, and it will look amazing on pc (its almost certain it will come to pc) so i dont think its worth it if thats your plan, but if you wont bother buying it for pc then yeah its probably worth upgrading your xbox system to get the most out of the game. Honestly, I think you will be glad with either choice.

No doubt about it that it will look great on the Base Xbox/PS4 console...I had spare cash to throw so I got an X. For me I can really see the difference in quality even on a 1080p monitor, for example games like BF1 the game almost looked “blurry” you could say on the base Xbox. I’m a PC player to so I’ll be getting it when it releases later on down the line, either way I’m glad I made the jump. Oh and the 4K update for RDR is incredible!

It’s worthwhile! I’ve had my original Xbox One since the midnight launch I had no issues with it for the 4 years I owned for (better than my old original base model PS4) I upgraded to a 4K TV from a 720p one 2 weeks before the One X launch (I pre-ordered it) it’s smaller and looks sleeker than it’s older counterparts. The 4K enhanced games like Battlefield 1 and even RDR looks amazing with it’s original textures on this console I’ll recommend buying a Xbox One X since your 4K TV is probably screaming for one.

It is only worth it if you don't have a Pro or a high end PC and if you mainly play on console.

For me personally the X is my only gaming system, so it makes sense. Obviously I'm happy to get the "definitive" RDR2 experience (if you want to say so), but the X in general brought me back into gaming and I'm more interested in games than before. Recently bought Worms WMD and Bioshock Collection, also looking forward to buy Battlefield 1 and Dead Cells.

I'm also saving up for an Xbone X! I cant wait to get it since i already have a 4ktv. I wonder if a splitter will work for both an X and my PS4 Pro tho...

I just got an X and the fact that it's backwards compatible, True 4K and has a 4K Ultra HD player is the selling point for me as I'm a collector. It also got me back into gaming.

Have you tried RDR in all it's 4K glory?

Good stuff man, RDR looks so sharp! It’s like a totally different game!
