Beside the fact that Rockstar put a lore more effort into RAGE on PC since GTA IV's rocky start and that GTA V sold like

hot cakes (and still has a healthy playerbase), no.

GTA V PC port was announced 9 months after console release. if we follow the same logic, RDR 2 will be announced end of july

I don't think there is a kind of like that logic behind the scenes in the Rockstar studios. They simply follow basic rules such as:

 

1- Is the code clean enough to port to the PC?

- Yes. RDR2 is based on x86 architecture unlike RDR1. So, porting to the PC can be done.

 

2- Will it sell on the PC?

- Yes, also there is an oppurtunity for the Take-Two to make much much more money on the Epic Store. (There can be profitable deals for the upcoming DLCs if permanent exclusive deal happens.)

 

3- Decision by Take-Two managers.

- Money, money and money. So, yes.

Also have a 5 years old work on SINGLE project, with all studios working on, plus also fact that there is still a RDR ONLINE

RDR is not GTA V, there is no old generation and enhaced better version for new platforms, it's not popular like V, it's nowhere near good as GTA V, even if you believe in fact that RDR 2 could be released with new consoles as before V, then you will wait more than year for playing it, also rdr will be completly dead in that time, and fact there is no different code core for consoles and PC, and what exactly would enhaced RDR 2 version bring?? Whales and sharks and First first pov ?? RDR 2 will be released soon, just stay calm and play some other games, it's not like RDR2 is masterpiece or best R* game, just read metacritics on ps4 version most actually paying players give this game 7 or 6 out of 10, and saying it's pretty boring, so like Varcetti said Shut up, sit down and relax.

Nothing wrong with this logic but I would add/remind the relevance of Online.

 

GTA V arrived on PC after Heists. That was a critical update for Online. Anyone who played them on last gen will remember the surge in people playing when they launched. Whilst online continued to evolve Heists felt like they brought the game up a level where it was at a much higher standard.

 

I reckon they won’t announce on PC until they’re confident RDR Online has been improved to whatever aspirations they have (which unfortunately is very much an unknown quantity outside of their offices).

So according to your logic, if RDRO won't be successful , RDR2 will never come to PC.

 

Well i don't agree that much, i still believe PC will help RDRO in some way.

No that’s not my logic.

 

My gut reaction is they have various big updates planned for RDRO and they will come first before a PC release, regardless of how popular they turn out to be.

 

In short I’m expecting a Heist-grade update to be on the news wire before a PC announcement. Not the beach bum grade updates they’ve had so far.

 

No idea what the timing will be for any of it. But if I see a big substantial update for RDRO then I’ll be more confident on a PC announcement a few months after.

They could use a DLC like this as an incentive to buy the PC version. IIRC GTAO's Heists were used in this way.

The "leak" itself is really generic and it's just repeating what most people are already saying is gonna happen. I have no idea who the twitter guy is though.

The whole exclusivity thing really pisses me off. I'd love to be able to purchase it on Steam as I like to have my games in one place. Steam also has several features which the Epic Launcher doesn't have. If it is exclusive, I'll either wait or purhcase on the Rockstar Warehouse.

Verified on Twitter doesn't actually mean much these days, you'd be surprised how many people have that tick. It's also absolutely no indication of having inside sources or anything.

 

But again, yea, Derek Smart is basically a known sh*t stirrer at this point. Probably fishing for attention again.

Even though we didn't get anything on the 22th April but If June/July release date is true then we may see an announcement in the coming weeks.
