We shall see on 22nd I guess but it is just really suspicious to me. His reasons for the supposed switch sound like complete BS. He mentioned DLC as supposed reason for Epic switch and not the main game sales.... I mean, you need the main game for the DLC, so why would they care so much about DLC sales? Maybe he ment MTs, but then again, those are not sold as a DLC as far as I know, they are mostly ingame purchases and Steam takes no revenue there from what I understanding.....And while we are on revenue issue, he keeps talking about 30% and we know that Steam does not take 30 % but around 20 % for games that have huge sales (which RDR2 would definetly have). I am not sure if that 8% difference and whatever money Epic will give them is enough to risk potential sales issues....I really don't know, but I think his supposed "reasons" for the switch are extremely weird.

yes, if you buy it on Warehouse or on any key reseller you are playing it only with the Social club launcher. I am not sure if there are any region specific key, but I bought my GTA V on GMG and i played it in Serbia without any problems.

Was browsing Reddit and found this. Tons of upvotes. It is clearly evident that lots of people are expecting R* to go for the triple dip. PC version in 2021 for sure now.

It's confirmed the 4chan thing was indeed a fake one. The same dude now claims that Mario Odyssey is coming to PC ( https://boards.4channel.org/v/thread/457521150 ), so he was just making a joke.

Im kinda happy that 4chan leak was fake. I have no love for Epic game store so i dont want to see a exclusive deal with RDR2 on pc but i dont think they are going to wait till 2020 to release the pc version. I think it would be something like this:

 

2018: Xbone, PS4

2019: PC, (Steam?)

2020: Next box, PS5

This new "leaker" is parodying the RDR2 leak, it's 99% not the same person. The original is still fake though.

0.01% of leaks on there are true, the other 0.99% that make up the 1% of what is believable, is made up of lucky speculation.

There were actual true leaks in the past. Particularly for games like Assassin's Creed. But those are so rare you could honestly attribute them to the 1%.

I'm not sure how i would feel if RDR2 would be time exclusive on the epic games sh*t store.

On one hand i would be annoyed and be part of the backlash...but on the other hand it would give me like 6 months more time to upgrade my PC...

My reasoning to sorta believing the Epic Store thing isn't the 4chan "leak" but rather what Take-Two are doing with their other games. No chance it's not coming on RGSC too though.

we know R* is "a bit" greedy, but releasing a very buggy game intentionally?

i would expect that from EA, Activision or Ubisoft, but R* releases games when they are ready.

0/10 bait for sure. In fact, at this point RDR2 probably has the same bugs as the console version, looking at how PC dev works nowadays. I'm almost certain RDR2 PC has been in development for years alongside consoles. Bad bait.

Does the fact that they'd push out a buggier, less complete PC version to one storefront, while publishing the "real" complete version to another not stick out as asinine to anyone else? What's the end goal here? Release a buggy version on Epic and keep it that way even after the patched Warehouse version is out? 

 

It's such a poorly thought out leak. We honestly deserve better, even when it comes to fakes.

Ubisoft's PC games lately have better optimisation and support from day one. Can you say the same for R* games? I would not put them on the same league as EA or Scummivision. It's definitely T2 that should be put alongside EA or Scummivision.
