i bought GTA V in april 2016

i think i would be able to wait.

R* games don't have anything officially to do with mods anyway, you have to source them and mod the game yourself manually.  GTA V never had Workshop support, even though it launched after the Workshop did.

Games like Factorio have their own mod engine built into them, removing the need for Workshop (partly because the Workshop limits mod sizes in most cases, Promods for Euro Truck Sim 2 is about 1.7 gig currently and even though ETS2 has full workshop integration, Promods will never appear on it due to size.)
 

Satisfactory has recently launched into Early Access on EGS Exclusive and Coffee Stain are looking into mods later in development.  They aim to have their own mod manager and database built into the game, eventually.

Mod support is an irrelevant argument.

i don´t mean it that way.

i meant that with steam you can download older versions of the .exe very easy, and you can downgrade very easy, without the need for a launcher bypass like with V, and that is better for mods imo

If the game came only on Epic and Warehouse, I really doubt that EGS version will be standalone, without the need to launch Social Club....So it is kinda pointless to buy it on EGS, and if you do you are supporting this terrible practice. Just buy it on Warehouse. Especially since even greedy R* is allowing third party keys to be sold elsewhere....it might be a bit cheaper on some stores.

Given the choice between EGS and Warehouse, the latter is a no brainer. Between Warehouse and Steam though... I'd pick Steam just based on personal preference. I still know a lot of people that bought GTA V on the Warehouse because it was more convenient for them. I like having options, and I think a lot of other people do too. Sucks that Epic is going against all of that.

Besides, we know for a fact that the PC version of RDR2 has been a thing way before Winter 2018. And Rockstar doing open tests? In what dimension?

RDR2 Companion app datamine showing various references to the PC version. It should be somewhere in this thread, near the beginning I think.

It's still down to a dev to issue rollbacks and such....  Steam does make it easier, but rollbacks will always be possible if a dev is happy to allow them.  The platform involved will not be an issue as Launchers and in game menus can both be utilized to control rollbacks, let alone a tab option in Steam Settings.

If R*/T2 make RDR2 a permanent Epic Store Exclusive, they'll be earning exactly 90% of nothing from me, because I'll go the way of Jack Sparrow, especially for modding, if they release it on RGSC they'll earn 100% of the sale price, and I might play some Online, and I'll go Jack Sparrow for modding, it's not rocket science.

Would be an extremely dumb move not to have it on RGSC as Standard, who needs Steam, Uplay, Origin, Gog, Epic launchers getting in the way of the game anyway ?

Like i said, for now it's 50% true and 50% fake. Just wait for the 22nd of April (the date mentionned by the guy) to see if it's 100% true or 100% fake but i also said that if the leak is real and Rockstar and Take-Two saw it , they might delay the announcement just to give a bad reputation to the leaker even tho he was right.

What a dumb rumor. Why would R* not use their own store like they did with GTAV? Why share the loot with anyone? If there's any game that can sell without a third party store it's a R* game.

He's saying it will be an Epic Store exclusive and not a Steam exclusive but he doesn't mention the Warehouse version which is completly logic because they have their own store. All of the other games sold only on Epic don't have a official store.
