Funny pedantic observation, RAGE was built for PC and then it was frankensteined to work better on consoles. Most of Angel Studios' games were PC, because fun fact, RAGE isn't a Rockstar original engine. They improved it, added to it, etc, but they didn't create it.

 

RAGE/AGE has been around since 1998's Midtown Madness.   ...for PC.

Is there even a mentionable number of games that were published for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, but not for PC? When I google for "console exclusive games" I get results about ones that are either on Playstation or Xbox.

Mostly older gen games at this point. Pretty much every game hitting PS4 and XB1 these days is on PC. Back in PS2/Xbox and (to a lesser extent) PS3/360 times, it was more common to see console-only titles.

I'm nitpicking here but the PC version of GTA V was announced alongside the PS4/X1 version. PC, PS4, X1 were all announced to come out for Fall 2014. PC version got delayed to January 2015, then March, and then finally April 2015.

 

However, we all knew the PC version was going to come even before the last gen version was released. The PC version was probably in development long before the PS4/X1 versions were.

It's going to be the same story with RDR2, except this time there won't a 'next gen' version of the game (At least not for the forseeable future) and it will come to PC later on.

Shortly after the last gen GTA V release a build logs file was found in the ps3 (or x360, i don't remember) version that basically confirmed this.

And that's why I'm positive the wait for RDR2 PC will be significantly shorter than the GTA V one.

Yup, I think R* Toronto mentioned in an article the existing PC version was then used as a base for next-gen consoles so they dedicated all their resources to that and that caused an even bigger delay for the PC version. GTA V PC was a thing since 2012 at least according to that log.

What are Take-Two's fiscal years looking like? Don't they usually try to stretch these releases across several of them?

The way I see it, they will have RD Online, much like GTAO which generated lots of money for them.

 

I don't see a reason why they won't release RDR 2 in PC.

This fiscal year should end April 2019 if I'm not mistaken, imo we could see the PC announcement not long after that.

Yes, the combat looks more brutal in first person.

I will do like GTA V. One playtrough entirely in third person and the other on first person.

I personally prefer gaming while sitting on a couch. I don't want to sit at my desk. Thats where I sit when I work!
Besides of that I don't want to purchase a pc which I have to upgrade frequently to stay up to date.
I rather buy myself a console and I know, I don't have to make another purchase the next 5 to 7 years. Maybe games look better on pc, yeah. But thats not everything that counts. I think anyone should decide for himself, whether he'd like to stay with a console or go with a pc.

If you wouldn't be that arrogant for playing games on pc, most of the console gamers would appreciate you much more.

You're right here. But most of the time console people tend to be more of the cozy guys, whilst pc gamers seem to be more of the professional gamers or graphic fanatics. I know a whole bunch of people who are not willing to pay 1200 € to have a good gaming pc which they have to upgrade a short time after purchase.

Personally I do use a MacBook Pro for working/college purposes and a PS4 for gaming. Of course I could've invested in a gaming pc instead of a laptop, but I needed one for college, and as I have the chance to play basically any title I want, I see no reason to upgrade to a tower pc.
Of course there will be games, which won't be available to me and thats sad, but no reason to spend those extra 1200 Euros, as students in Germany don't tend to have that much money.

So no hate here. Only for toxic people.

Why does every anti PC gaming comment come with "not everyone can spend $1k+ on a PC that they have to upgrade after a short time" lol

 

You can build good gaming PC's for affordable prices and game requirements don't advance that fast. A $1k PC would probably last you 3-4 years without needing to upgrade.

Then again, a good gaming PS4 comes at 299 €? And lasts you even longer than those 3-4 years without upgrading.
I don't know the situation in UK, but I don't know one single person in Germany that got a gaming pc for less than 1000 €.
Even the ones who built their own model because !quote! "they don't have that much money" spent over 1000 €.

Having a pc is expensive in the first place. Of course you can get discounted games on steam summer sale and safe up to a quadrillion euros afterwards. But thats just the long run. I don't even know why so many pc gamers are offended by that statement, that a gaming pc is expensive. I mean you can't compare those prices to console prices. I hated to spend those 2000 € for my MacBook Pro, too. I don't know how and why the industry justifies those prices, but thats another topic anyhow.

Well, like what happens with consoles, if you gradually adjust the settings to maintain good fps a gaming PC can last longer than 3-4 years too, it all depends on what you find acceptable in terms of graphic settings/frame rate.

Plenty of people get gaming PC's for under 1000 Euro mate, just cause you don't know of anyone doesn't mean it doesn't happen. 1080p gaming builds are relatively cheap. Also ya'know PC's have that thing where they do a whole lot more than a console too.

 

PC gamers are "offended" (not the right word but I'll roll with it) over comments like that because they are complete and utter nonsense.

All my life I had a console,till the PS3 generation,only this year I decided to build a PC with my brother.If I had the opportunity,of course I would buy a PS4 just to play this game,but unfortunately I have to wait till I get money for this or RDR2 comes to PC.I still don't urderstand why we have this "fanboy war" going on anymore,is so stupid,everyone should just enjoy the game like real fans and not just fight about it each one is the best.

So in the end its all about fps and graphics again. To be fair I do understand this, one of my mates has an amazing machine of a gaming pc.
Games look absolutely stunning. I never denied that. But from my point of view it still is a pretty high price for a few benefits. 

Nevertheless I don't want to relinquish sitting on my couch or lying in my bed. I love this cozy comfy kind of gaming and for me - personally - it would be a total dealbreaker to sit at a desk all the time. Besides of that this would kill my back, which is a huge problem in Germany anyhow. Lots of people got bad backs over here.

Yeah, I totally get what you're saying. Might even be that theres chances to get some cheaper machines. But as I said above, I think its a matter of personal taste.
Some folks prefer this, other folks prefer that.
Of course a PC can do more than running video games alone. So can a TV.
But here again, for me there's no reason to buy a PC, as I need a laptop for college. And having a PC when having a Laptop is redundant. Portable devices are the future. Even in the office we use laptops as they are portable and thus better to carry on to a meeting i.e.
