I rly wonder if my currency PC can even handle RDR2. I would love to see some requirements soon.

Oh yeah ofc it was. Just look at the first trailer for gta v, it was clearly made on PC. It even had unreleased vehicles like Hydra.  

I think they usually start with PC version, they make it look rly pretty for trailers and later they downgrade it for consoles. It makes more sense then doing it the other way around after all.

It's accepted that the RDR2 PC version exists as the base game was built on it in the first place and ported to consoles directly.  It's easier and cheaper to work that way today because both consoles share a basic Windows 10 kernal at their core.  Pretty much every game starts out in this way today, even console exclusives, there's no indication the next gen consoles coming in the next few years will differ either.

 

The days of dual teams making differing console versions are long gone.

I think it makes sense to release the pc version as soon as online is out of beta, that way they can sell micro transactions to more people.

I don't know, the pc version of gta v was with the first dlc (heist). if rockstar is rock$tar, they should release before sp dlc, because they would sell the game first. But who knows... they can release with the xbox two and ps5 version

My bet's on it coming out soon after RDRO is out of beta. The MTs are already in effect throughout the beta period, so that really doesn't make a difference. They'll probably publish some more radical improvements to the Online portion, then tie it all neatly into the PC release. Just like with Heists. 

 

I would say we're on track for a potential mid-late Summer release, tbh. If the RDRO improvements become slightly more rapid after February then it's even better for everyone.

If the PC version cant be modded I wont buy a copy. Whether in Fallout 4 and or Skyrim, mods create longevity and interesting possibilities.

It's a RAGE engine game.  Even though mods will not be officially supported, they'll be there and adding to the experience.

Rockstar already mentioned that RDR2 online will take months to come out of beta..

It's already been about 3 months since RDRO's  release. Can't be much longer now.

They said on the 11 of Januari that RDO will stay in beta for a few more months. So im thinking maybe in March or April it will leave the beta.

Maybe we will get a trailer around E3 2019. GTA 5 for next-gen was announced around E3 in 2014. So I'm guessing an announcement of June 2019 and release of Fall 2019.

This looks really possible. Announcement during E3 and release at Fall 2019. No way this game would come out by Summer as we would've got an announcement by now if that was the case.

I wouldn't rule out a summer release yet, but at this point if I had to bet I would say fall 2019 too.

Correct me if im wrong but Rockstar doesnt usually go to E3? Its a speculation that may actually work if the next gen consoles wear going to release this fall also.

It is a good trailer, too bad the end product was lifeless and plastic imo. It probably has the weakest gun sounds in the whole GTA series. Rockstar lost a bit of magic when they released GTA V, especially after the masterpiece that was the GTA IV.

 

But thankfully Rockstar have made up for it and gave us the game of the decade RDR2.

But thankfully Rockstar have made up for it and gave us the game of the decade RDR2. 

GTA 4 was anything but a masterpiece. The only good thing on it was the story, technically-wise it was the worst game I have ever played right after Saints Row 2.

Yeah I don't think we'll see another E3 announcement this time considering the new consoles are still relatively far away, the next gen version of GTA V was announced at the E3 Sony conference only because Rockstar had a marketing deal with them.

I agree it wasn't a masterpiece but it's still superior to GTA V in a lot of aspects.

I dont understand why Rockstar doesn't want to (At Least) announce Red Dead 2 on PC, because Ps4, Xone and PC share the same architectures.

But, when current gen consoles were launched back in 2013, they somehow ported the game from PC( Which was almost ready for release) to consoles in a short period of time. But now, why aren't they doing the same thing by releasing it on PC?

As we already mentioned, it is a marketing thing. They won't announce it so people would buy it on consoles, thinking they would have to wait a long time for the PC version (or not have PC version at all). And when they do finally announce, a lot of people would double-dip (buy again), full price just for the PC goodies (better framerate, resolution, mods etc). Has nothing to do with the game being ready or with the architecture of the consoles. It is marketing 101 for R* and Take Two.

But Rockstar double(triple) dipped on GTA V only because new generation consoles were announced. But in this case, the next gen consoles seem pretty far away.

Damn. Rockstar keeping mum is like controlling my urgency to do my most liked thing. Atleast they can tell us that if ( and only if) any PC version is in the works or not.

Is a real scum bag move and Rockstar seems to be the only developer that does this. That is one reasons im loosing respect for them, its real sh*tty move against their fans.

I am not sure if you know, but R* almost always did this with the PC. They always delayed their PC versions by a couple of months. It wasn't just GTA V.

 

It is scummy for sure, I hate it. But can't say I can blame them for it. Look at their profits, they are off the roof. One of the reasons is double/tripple dip.
