If it makes anyone feel better, none of this will matter in about a year's time. RDR2 PC will be announced/released and we'll all be looking back on this thread with the same fondness/horror as the GTA V PC threads.

If you're reading this a year later and RDR2 PC still isn't announced, then I am well and truly sorry. You are in the darkest timeline.

The PC version will only be released to applause from everyone in 1 out of 14 000 605 different universes. All you guys can do is hope it is this one, I know what will happen in this timeline but if I told you guys what will happen then it would not happen! 😉

This looks more likely day by day. Triple dip. Announcement by 2021, release by 2022. If Rockstar pulls a triple dip, I'll buy the PS5 version for sure but I'll also sail the high seas.

You guys are complaining about Rockstar being the worst, did y'all forget about Valve? 😂

RDR2 not even a year old, HL2:E2 almost 12 years old.

Jokes aside, I don't think Spider-Vice was saying Rockstar's methods are good just that acting like spoiled brats and flaming people who don't agree with you while spamming the devs is anything but helpful.. and very embarrassing. I get the frustration is at a high here but maybe try to step back from the emotions and think a bit more critically at your actions.

I strongly disagree, companies like CD Projekt Red has shown us corporations can be much more informative and closer to it's fans than the trainwreck that Take Two / Rockstar is.

So, this means some people should act like a bunch of kids lost in a mall?

As much as Rockstar and Take-Two don't owe us sh*t. (They really don't, unless we had paid before hand. A kick-starter or something).

They could indeed be more communicative with us. However, they're not. So, what can we do? Act stupid?

That's definitely not helping and has never done.

Unfortunately, they prefer the silent way, it's up to us to be patient and wait for them to drop the bomb.

Which they will do eventually. To scare them away will just make matters worse.

You can ask, and ask, and ask. They very likely won't say a word.

I've been through this bullsh*t with Grand Theft Auto V and seriously...

The less I cared the faster time passed, the less stressed I was with the whole situation and the whole wait was less painful.

By the time I had my hands on the game, I enjoyed it, It was fun. (Except the part where my computer sucked ass).

However, I also noticed I had burned myself out by the time spent trolling on their comment sections, sending tweets and even posting and refreshing the threads on GTAForums.

To this day, I still open this website because it just became muscle memory. It was super unhealthy too...

It's getting late for an announcement for this year and I still think spring release is unlikely. So next fall maybe.

For all we all know they could announce it in November and release it in mid-December. There is not necessarily a standard.

Heck, release it the same day you announce it.

I mean that wont happen but it would be pretty funny

I think the lack of them mentioning a PC version is what's causing the uproar at the moment. At this point, we're assuming we'll be getting a PC version but we don't actually know that for sure. I think it'd be great for them to announce their console & PC versions simultaneously even if they plan to release the PC version at a later date. I understand that they're not obligated to do anything but I think it's only fair to let people know if they should be waiting for a PC version or not. I know it's a business strategy cause they basically force people to buy a console or wait for at least a year and risk having the game spoiled but that's the messed up thing about it. I guess it's just the life we have to live as Rockstar fans.

While my initial reaction is to agree, I feel people would still act the same for a release date next. They would be like "can we get a rough time frame, this year or next year?"

True, but I think at least they know they have something to look forward to. Kinda like when they tell us we'll receive news "in a few weeks or so" lmao. It's still frustrating nonetheless but we know we're getting something.

Where are the leakers? Yan doesn't have to give details. It is enough to say yes or no. It's safe for me not to buy RDR2. After 10 months I have no more interest.

I love R* games. But I won't die if I don't play them.

The irony is, r* silence marketing only works because the community hypes and likes it. It always like this and people here like the wait and the speculation.

Look at the number of pages this thread has for an unannounced release. The marketing works just fine.

not really. this thread has being around for almost a year. and if you check the amount of people posting we are not even 50.  i would say wayyy less now.  so in general there is not a GREAT  amount of  hype for the pc release. And with cyberpunk marketing in full swing... even worse.

This is what I keep saying, but some people here act like they simply have to wait like a year after the announcement or something...

"Oh it wasn't announced this year, jeez louise 2030 it is" :D

All jokes aside, I think that no one can claim with such certainty that this won't come out this year or the beginning of the next just because it wasn't announced now.........Doubt and scepticism is there, but claims like "oh this is definitely not happening" ? We just cannot know....We can only guess, and nothing is that certain either way.

IMO chances are kinda the same for both. You never know what R* is planning. And as we mentioned before, their "pattern" is very unpredictable in a lot of cases.

We shall see, but I think we need to chill with the accusasions and calling out others here....It is turning into a mess and do we really want the topic to be locked again? The wait without this thread would be even more difficult, that is for sure....No need to ruin this.....everybody calm down.

Cyberpunk marketing is at about 5% at best. Marketing being in full swing happens in the run up to launch day, starting maybe 3-4 weeks before launch at best for the biggest titles out there.

This idea that RDR2 PC is gonna be hurt by Cyberpunk will only be true if RDR2 PC releases on the 16th of April 2020, which it won't.

When was the last time R* announced something and launched a month or 2 later?  Not even the updates. expect a release date of 6 months minimum when they drop the announcement. Oh and lets not forget the usual Delay.

Like @Pentraksil said we can't make any assumptions. We never had to wait that much for a PC version announcement so who knows how they gonna handle the post-announcement marketing.

They might drop the game two months after it's announcement or drop it in April 2020 with delays which BTW would still be one month before GTA V since RDR2 was released end of October and not middle of September. The announcement is definitely late compared to GTA V tho.

Then again, I'm just a random guy who doesn't know sh*t about marketing strategies, maybe I'm typing this just to ease up my mind and reassure myself.

The fact that it's taking longer than GTAV, relatively longer, makes me think that they're trying to avoid to delay it and tighten the time between the announcement and the release.

BTW more tariffs just announced by 15% so run to buy your pc upgrades before they are active on september 1.

president Trump announced a new round of tariffs on China, set to start Oct. 1.

The President tweeted that “the 250 BILLION DOLLARS of goods and products from China, currently being taxed at 25%, will be taxed at 30%.”

“Additionally, the remaining 300 BILLION DOLLARS of goods and products from China, that was being taxed from September 1st at 10%, will now be taxed at 15%,” Trump wrote.

no but companies usually up the prices around the world to subsidise part of the increase cost to sell in USA... so at the end..we all get f*cked.

I can't see any news regarding that in Italy/EU. Hope the prices will be ok until the end of the year.

As someone pointed out before, Rockstar is not following any pattern or has tradition, they could easily announce the PC version in November and release it in December or similar. They can afford luxury like that in the marketing world. So don't loose hope, fellas.
