We're getting desperate we don't even talk about the topic but how other devs are better at listening to their community than a multi billion company.

That’s because there’s nothing to talk about... no new rumours, no announcement, no release date. No expectations. In fact mods might as well as lock this thread for a couple of months or until the actual announcement.

Hmm...

RIP GTA V SP DLC

RIP RDR2 PC

I'm going to be brutally honest here...

First off, we're all eager for a PC version of RDR2 but neither Take-Two, nor Rockstar, nor anyone else are ENTITLED to give us anything and we're not entitled to their respect because they're not our mums or our dads. They're big corporate, and we're not entitled to anything they do, so saying we're being disrespected is childish and actually incorrect. They don't owe us any respect. No one has to listen to us. And much less the DEVELOPERS who don't make the decisions - more on that below.

At this point, the only people acting entitled here is everyone who insists in getting involved in arguments either here or on Reddit just because people don't agree with their cause. Worse even, the way this is being done will just add yet another black mark to what Rockstar probably thinks of its community. Yeah let's tag every single Rockstar developer in existence on Twitter so they block us and Rockstar interactions with fans cease to exist even more because we're being annoying entitled pricks, as if those innocent people have anything to do with what's happening and as if they can change something.

Petitions of this sort have never worked and will never work. At best you get some Rockstar or T2 higher ups browsing and laughing at us because at this point they probably already have a plan. And it works, it just does. We're not getting RDR2 PC when we want to, but when we do, we're all going to run to it like hungry wolves.

John Marston's hair petition and the hubbub it caused on social media and here was already bad enough, so to me this is just adding yet another red flag towards the Rockstar community. Then don't blame them for not interacting with us anymore like "the old days". Because maybe they're right.

2 cents, etc.

TL:DR

It's OUR fault if they don't speak with THEIR community. Doesn't make much sense

I stronly dissagree, companies like CD Projekt Red has shown us corporations can be much more informative and closer to it's fans than the trainwreck that Take Two / Rockstar is.

It's not 2009 anymore ffs, cut that crap.

Exactly! And because of this good relationship and communication skills with the fan, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most waited and hyped game of next year! Plus, we already know for a fact that it gonna be released on Xbox/PS4 & PC without creating the dilemma of RDR2 right now; it's gonna be released, people have high hopes about it and I'm optimistic it will deliver. Would they have not played this weird "game" (perhaps to artificially boost console sales for a while. We are in 2019, consoles are architecturally working like PC now, so it's a lot easier to make a PC port in different on the Xbox 360 and PS3 era) we would not be in this case and we wouldn't have forum discussion still going on strong after 184 pages.

This is so wrong in so many ways that I do not know where to start... Sure, R* has no legal obligation to communicate with their fans and customers/potential customers but they do have a somewhat moral obligation to not shut out their most hardcore fans. And in the end it will hurt R* way more than the fans and/or customers as the way R* is behaving definitely leaves a very bitter taste in ones mouth.

Look at Bioware and how they rose to become one of the huge fan favorites among companies within the gaming industry and how fast their star faded into oblivion. I am not saying R* is exactly like Bioware was/is but the customers make the money for any company and if enough customers feels like they are treated like ass(in this case the PC-gamers), the fall from grace may happen sooner and faster than anticipated.

So sure, R* does not need to do or say anything to their fans, but sure as hell expect that the once so loyal fans will not stay so loyal forever. So from a business perspective R* is really not handling this with the grace and experience one has come to expect from such an experienced company. I can only speak for myself but I have a long memory and I use my only power I have as a customer, I vote with my wallet. After Bioware and EA released the disaster that is/was ME3, I stopped to buy anything from Bioware or EA. I know most is not like me but gamers nowadays have many games to choose from so it has become easier to just stop purchasing from a certain company if one feels the company behaves in a way not fitting for an entity of that magnitude.

I do not endorse boycotting R* if they continue walking this path, but I do say that people do not have unlimited patience and they will vote with their wallets. And even if R* seems like the money mountain of doom today, that can quickly turn around and R* may find themself a way smaller actor on the market in a not so distant future. All depends upon how they handle their most valuable commodity, their customers. And just ignoring the customers as you seem to suggest is not the best or even one of the ten best ways of handling the situation as it is now.

Guys let's be silent for a month or two, the mods clearly don't want us to talk here. Let's wait, that's all we can do 'cause Rockstar doesn't owe anything to their customers, right?
Let's wait and do other things :)

No one contested this, and this is the only true way to protest, really. With your wallets. Not with any of the rest.

My opinion is not the rules, however obviously any overly off-topic discussions or arguments will have to be moderated. You can talk all you want...

He said numerous times, Holiday this year or early next year unless something will change. I think, that Rockstar could reschedule their projects and PC version of RDR 2 is now even further from being their top priority project.

I always gotta laugh when people say they will boycott a game because they didn't get their way. You can go ahead and boycott game, nobody cares. The only person who loses in that situation is you, everyone else is playing the game while your being salty because it wasn't released when you wanted it to be. It would be great if rockstar communicated more with their community but they don't owe any of us sh*t. Rockstar have nothing to gain being told when and how to release a game by a bunch of pseudo interlectual PC gamers.

Maybe they dont owe us anything, but they know that there are a lot of gamers waiting for PC version and they still dosent give us any info. Now im seriously thinking if i even should spend my hard earned money on this game or i should set sail :)

Be patient and eventually you will get what you want. Honestly, i don't care if they release PC version 4 months from now or 2 years from now. I will still buy it, not because Rockstar or anything, i will buy it because myself, because i love the game, i liked the first one, and second one looks and sounds even better.

All other Devs nowadays, since the current gen era release their game both on PC and Console at the same time, or in worse case like Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy XV just a few months lather. Rockstar is the ONLY company still doing things that way and are cornering themselves because of this.

No, Rockstar are not *obligated* to do anything, we are not entitled to anything, but if there's something I understood is that normally a good communication and to keep your costumers in a positive opinion of your company will always be the best thing in terms of longevity for a said company, but right now...they are doing the complete opposite. They won't talk about a PC port when all other devs releases them day one, they won't tell us if they are working on it or not at all, and it's the same thing with the console fan base who can actually play; people have waited a while now for the summer update, which they haven't talked about for a few weeks even though we are entering September, summer is ending soon and people are going back to work or school. Take a look at the last Rockstar Twitter post about the summer update; people are pissed for the lack of communication, no ETA, no release date, no nothing, that a lot are just giving up and are stopping playing and putting focus on other games instead.

Yes sure, I have heard ME-Andromeda is enjoyed by way too many people to count. I also heard that those that played it really loved it and the bitter taste left by ME3 absolutely had no negative effect on Andromeda.

No one has talked about a boycott of R* in this discussion, I just said that I personally have a long memory and vote with my wallet.

Ah yes... how dare we demand info about PC version 10 months after console release.

Rockstar should just cancel PC version to punish us horrible horrible pc gamers and show us who's the daddy!

Just... wow. This thread has taken a turn since last week hasn't it?

Y'all have to remember that Rockstar has a reason for doing what they are doing in regards to the PC release. It doesn't take a scientist to realize that they have planners who are able to predict the most appropriate time to drop a PC release.

Remember that interview about GTA V when it came out and how they always said they had planned for the game to come to PC? Yeah. Just wait and be patient. Go and play the console version in the time being (if you have it), otherwise, there's a multitude of other games and things to do in order to pass the time. I really don't think we're gonna have to wait much longer.

Indeed! And how dare we ask the almighty R* to actually communicate something else to us than just info about RDO!?

Asking for communication for RDO/GTAO is very different than asking for a game to be announced. We have evidence of RDR2 PC being a thing, but we also have evidence that Bully 2 and Agent were things at one point, are we demanding that they announce them too?

Game announcements should come when they're good and ready so the time between announcement and release is as low as possible, drawn out periods during the announcement and release (which Rockstar do often) are frustrating for fans especially if there are delays.

I repeat, since the current gen of console, which are architecturally very close to an actual PC, it's a lot easier to do both version. Back in pre 2014 era back with the PS3, the PS2 and such, I understand how PC port often came later as it was easier to work on ONE hardware and afterward put all of your staff to finish to PC version. Nowadays, tanks to the proximity of the hardware it's very easy to do and almost all the other Dev now release their PC version the same day or at least a few months afterwards and all the other dev remain vocal and communicate with us about it. If there's a timed console exclusive deal we usually tend to know with other devs (like with Detroit Become Human which will be released on Pc next year). Rockstar is the only remaining company still doing things that way which isn't good in terms of client relation which shows that they truly intended to either never release it or (most probably) to artificially delay it for artificial reason. It IS not a good way to act, business wise.

COMMUNICATION MAN! That's the key to any good business relation and to make sure the costumers comes back again and again, but Rockstar really have been failing on that one for the past few year's.

Couldn't agree more, even back then Ubisoft only needed few weeks more for PC versions, but since AC Origins they had PC version day one, same goes for their other games, EA, Activision and even majority of Japanese publishers. Rockstar think they are mighthier than God himself when it comes to PC, which is super annoying.

10 months is a really really long time..
