Try saying that to the hardcore Rockstar fans. I'm one of them, I hardly play any other games from other developers, the games that I have played in the last 5 years are RDR2, GTA V, GTA IV, RDR and Lego City Undercover(non Rockstar title, I play it with my son, its like GTA for kids)

+ this year its being full of horrible uninteresting games. there is nothing good untill next year.

Dicey Dungeons, Streets Of Rogue, even My Summer Car is leaving Early Access this year.....

You're looking in the wrong places, AAA titles are not having a swell time, but the Indie scene is bouncing at the moment.

Yeah to bad i never cared or liked the indie games.  only indie game i liked in all this years was   A PLAGUE TALE  INNOCENCE.

Besides that indies are just not my thing.

Then you're missing out.  There's a lot more to games than just AAA.

Streets Of Rogue is basically a classic four player GTA with multiple classes, procedual level generation and more carnage.

take two will want to maximize the sales of borderlands 3 that comes out in september I don't think they announce the pc version before that so I think it will come out next year maybe

You're right about that. However I don't think RDR2PC will hurt it's sales any. Borderlands is an incredibly popular series and the games are very different. Also, like @MrQuiche said about CP2077, some people may have no interest in BL3 or even RDR2.

Not toxic, but realistic.

I mean the most toxic comment in that thread was by the person who posted the letter and was exactly the sort of thing that I was worried would happen when I heard this was happening.

I want RDR2 PC but if this petition is gonna essentially say "f*ck you" to anyone who says anything that's not supportive, even if said unsupportive person says it in a reasonable and well mannered way, then GTAF isn't going to be the staging ground for it.

As much as we hate it, i still believe from a business perspective the silence is the best R* can do.  why? because every day we see companies get sh*t left and right from *offended* gamers . While i dont necesseraly like it i very much believe that their policy of 0 comunication is the best for the current trends of the industry. And i dont see that changing anytime soon. All thanks to us, the gaming community.

I don't think we'll hear anything till RDO is in a better place personally. So at the very least it'll be after the summer update.

Announcing it now while RDO's in a bad spot is gonna get "SP's worth it, online is poo" reactions, if they get RDO into a good place with the next update the PC announcement will land a lot better.

Not so sure RDO has anything to do with it ..considering if Online sux...people will buy it on pc because *the mods will fix it*

ehhh... I'm pretty sure RDO has a pretty big part in the announcement of the PC version. With a stable online, players will have another incentive to buy the game. Not to mention that mods wont make Take Two money.

I don't know... if they wait for RDO to be "perfect" before a PC release, they might as well never release it. If they would have gone by the same logic, with all the problematic that people hate and whine about GTAO (like the pesting modders problem that was never fixed 4 year's later) we would never have got GTA V on PC.

It could take year's to get to the point where they get the online to become good enough for PC (and at what level would it actually be good enough? how to we quantify it? Impossible to know), but by that point for how much would they be able to sell a game on PC that's already 2 or 3 or 4 year's old and still justify a high enough price? 30$ maybe? People would had moved on by then. People with other hyped release (that we KNOW will come to PC) like Watch Dogs 3, Cyberpunk 2077 & etc next year, people are already starting to move on. So, would it be wise profit-wise? I don't know, but I don't think so.

Like I said, between now and early 2020 there's a big gap in big AAA popular games and, in my opinion, would be the best moment to make the most of a buck by releasing it on PC or else next year's could be a bit risky, and 2021 and further would be downright suicidal.

Yup, exactly.

If RDO is in a good place RDR2 PC will sell more copies than if RDO sucked.

Jesus Christ! The desperation is real. Thank God I'm not obsessed with this game. I mean there are so many other games to play.

Sorry to burst your bubble but PC gamers are the most hated gaming community on Reddit and you're gonna get a lot of salt. Only way to get attention is to post random Nintendo Switch pics or PS4 pics.

I disagree, there are companies that handle their communication better than Rockstar.

I do understand your reasons and why you see it as a good thing but that's not the only way to stop those offending gamers from talking sh*t about them.

Take a look at Apex Legends, from the very beginning, the devs were more open to the community than any other dev, but what they didn't count for is that their community grew so big in just a couple of days or weeks, it reached a point where if the devs do one bad thing, half of the community go crazy.

The problem is how you handle yourself with such a big community.

Well, I'm a fan of the Division and have been following them since the beginning and when it comes to how the devs address the important issues from the community, they have youtubers and content creators assembled into teams and they communicate directly with the devs and address the issues.

Instead of having a developer deal with the toxic sh*t, you get a content creator or a youtuber who try to get the community feedback and send it to the developers.

Of course their communication isn't limited to those youtubers/content creators, they also listen to the community but when the community start getting toxic, they can go back to the content creators.

When it comes to GTA/RDR youtubers/content creators, that's difficult topic but if we find the right people, then each content creator takes care of each community like the stunting community, racing community ..etc

I have seen a youtuber who became a Lead Designer at the company that made his favorite game.

It's also common to see cases like SCS Software.

There they constantly watch the Modding scene for ETS2 and ATS, experiment with them themselves and take the most promising modders in house, employing them to develop the games full time.

Kutchek and Mandelsoft are probably the most obvious examples of this.  They both worked on Promods, (Kut worked on the original Promods France and Mandel was a general dev), they have both been taken on by SCS to work as map developers, Kut, it's believed, works within the ATS teams now, Mandel is one of their senior map dev team leaders and was recently working on the Germany Rebuild, and still does some work out of hours with Promods.

(It's also common to see Mandel appearing on Twitch streams like Squirrel's Sunday Night Trucking as a feedback in the stream chat.  He appears when Promods are allowing testing phases for him on stream and he's there taking notes and making bug reports as and when they find them.)

This game looks wicked. I loved the original Destruction Derby game and by the looks of it this might be worth checking out...

I just hate this, not even that it hasn't come out yet, but the absolute and utter lack of respect for paying customers on PC.

Not even an announcement to calm people down, what a horrible horrible company when it comes to PC.

They don't respect us paying customers one bit, even after huge success of GTA V on PC, all the crazy mods and thriving Role-playing scene.

This wiki pretty much explain everything.

I've been following the dude since 2013/2014 when I was playing the game he was making videos about, next thing you know, he became a game dev.

Quote

When something is said to have gone wrong in PlanetSide 2, whether it be a bug, poor performance, or a terrible game update, a common joke in the community is to blame Wrel.

Even though this is a joke, it goes along with what I was saying in my post.

We're getting desperate we don't even talk about the topic but how other devs are better at listening to their community than a multi billion company.
