Because they will do the same as with GTA V.

Again...because...reasons?

As @Yoona already explained it, the situation with these releases are much more complicated than "oh it worked once it will work again"

Am i the only one wondering about the performance of the game and especially when going through grass? Grass is a frame killer on GTA V so i really hope they've fixed this otherwise the game will be unplayable because there's even more grass than GTA V.

They definitely seem to have changed the grass solution in RDR2 as GTA V's grass hits the consoles' framerate too but in RDR2 it really doesn't (or not as much).

I remember max settings grass being pretty intense in GTA V, yeah. The foliage in RDR2 looks gorgeous to me so I hope I don't have to sacrifice too many frames to get it to be at least as nice looking as the console version.

Well, if you are struggling with GTA V then you got no hope of RDR2 running on your pc.

Not necissarily. Sure there is a lot of eye candy present in RDR2, but if it's well implemented into RAGE the performance load is even decreased compared to GTA 5. We'll see how it performs on PC systems, but it seems they made the game well optimized.

My computer is not struggling, i play this game at 1080p with FXAA+MSAA 4x, VSYNC, Population density and variety maxed out, rendering distance maxed out, textures are Very High, lighting quality is Very High, shadows quality is very high, reflection quality is at Ultra, MSAA reflections is at 8x, Water Quality is Very High, Particles Quality is Very High, Grass quality is High, smooth shadows is Very High, VFX quality is on Ultra, Anisotropic Filtering is on 16x, Tesselation is Very High and Ambiant Occlusion is High.

In advanced graphics option, i have long shadows enable with high resolution shadows too and higher details when flying too and everything else is desactivated because it's too heavy on performance and not really noticeable.

Pretty safe to say, i can run this and keeping up more than 70 FPS in the countryside and more than 50 FPS in the city.

Grass settings above High/Very High kill even a powerful GPU, it's just not very well optimised, and a dumb idea because each strand of grass is emitting shadows which is overkill, especially for a game whose systems are still optimised for last gen. Maybe things have changed with the RTX series but I remember seeing tests done with a 1080 Ti and the frame rate still tanked.

My CPU is bottlecnecking my 1070 at 1080p because he's too "old" to push more than 80+FPS without getting at 100% use so i use DSR technology from Nvidia to get to 3840*2160(4K) and the stutter dissapears because of the resolution boost which increase the GPU usage instead of the CPU (I like multitasking lol). One funny thing is that my 1070 has a blower cooler so it can get really hot (like 75 degrees) but i just noticed it's now running a bit colder even tho i pushed the resolution to "4K". Very strange graphics card sometimes...

Get a Ryzen 3000-series CPU. I'd go for the 3600.

Calm calm, money doesn't grow on trees especially when you're a student. My platform is so old that if i want to change the CPU, i'll need to change the motherboard and the RAM too because i have DDR3.

I wonder if the engine still supports MSAA...

While TAA can work marvelously by using the Z Buffer as a hint to where smooth the edges + sharpen it's just not... that good. I still prefer the good old Multi-Sampling method.

Was it there on the companion app leak?

MSAA was in the menu files still too iirc. They might not drop it for PC, but they also might because let's face it, it's effective but extremely outdated.

I really like SMAA. I don't notice too much if a performance impact in most cases, and it's not as blurry as FXAA. Hope it's available in RDR2.

I really like this technology called "Announcement" but it seems like Rockstar has yet to use it in their marketing strategy🤣

Yeah, SMAA is cool too. As long as they give us as many choices as possible, I'm fine.

I'm hoping they release "Announcement" in the next couple of weeks, with a full release later this year.

The announcement is coming. Don't worry.

Don't. We never know what's happening behind the scenes.

I doubt it, I personally can’t see it being released this year. Otherwise they would have already announced it ages ago, simple as that.

I feel the same too. Since it hasn't been announced in June, I don't see it happening before 2022 at the very least. BUT this will backfire Rockstar and they will have poor sales.

2022? Don't strech it man, 4 years after it's initial release, everybody will have forgotten about it at this point

2022 is more likely to be the GTA VI marketing year, tbh. At the rate we're going, it could line up.

I absolutely agree with ya'll. But if Rockstar is going for the triple dip then they have to wait for the next gen release, which looks like will come out by 2021. And then 2022 for RDR 2 PC. I am just taking the worst case scenario into account. I just don't want to disappoint myself if it doesn't come out by 2020 since 2019 is already out of the window.
