I can confirm the existence of the PC Version. (I've changed this statement dozens of times because now I see the evidence.) I have some interesting information taken from the RDR2 Companion App.

Because by pushing people to buy directly from them they don't have to give a cut to Valve or Epic.

Well, I'm giving R* till the end of this month. If nothing new happens I'll gladly just continue on with my life, and finally watch the game's plot on Youtube after avoiding it for so long. ( Although I did got one major spoiler still by entering this very forum. )

Hell I'd even be happy if an announcement tomorrow was about GTA V SP DLC. Just give the customers something they've been pining for, that's all!

 

Only quibble about myself and a PC release for RDR 2 is that I'm still hip-deep in the SP for the console version of RDR 2, and don't think I could see myself mustering the strength for enduring the long haul of either starting over now or doing it all over again anyway if/when it re-releases.

They had a button on the website to add it to your calendar. There's a webcast so maybe we can watch it live, who knows? Or maybe it's for participants.

Interesting. Rockstar have a record of announcing something on a conference call day. This paired with the Score releasing on Friday is a good sign. 🧐

It could easily just be a blanket statement since GTAV is listed in the same sentence. Also stopped working at Rockstar Nov 2017.

 So what exactly is an earnings call? I assumed that it was where they have to project earnings to investors and such. This means that they would have to reveal enough about their next project (that could potentially be leaked) that they would want to go ahead and get it out into the open so that it wouldn't be leaked first. Does that make sense or am I way off?

An earnings call is where TakeTwo (Rockstars parent company) talk about whats doing well for them. (A buisness call) They don't announce anything as that's up to Rockstar. The earnings call will be tomorrow 5th August.

One of the most likely signs, if no direct announcements are given, are the projected earnings. If there is a big spike, you know a new release (of something) is coming.

 

They might announce straight away after because of leak fears, but they might also just not care. That being said, since we got the leak of RDR2 on PC being a slamdunk, they could be more wary of what happens.

We got quotes of them talking to investors in June about a PC release, its very possible we will hear more. I don't think they will intentionally make it public though, I assume it was leaks we got in June.

No it's not. It should be like: Grand Theft Auto V on PS4, Xbox One and PC and Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4, Xbox One.

If you've been around for long enough you will know how unpredictable the marketing for RDR2 has been.

 

I would like to think we'd get an announcement similar to the Trailers where Rockstar will drop out of nowhere "PC Trailer coming Thursday, August 8th" for example.

Not sure what's the argument there for the LinkedIn listing being only for GTA V PC. We already know RDR2 PC exists. And it's not shocking that it was being developed in Nov 2017, no. GTA V had a PC version internally in 2012.

 

For the uninitiated, btw, the earnings calls are where T2 talks about their financial status for this quarter and the future. Sometimes you can infer that something big may be released if their expectations for the future are big moneywise. We used to eat those earnings calls alive during the GTA V days...
