Which is a shame... surely Rockstar has the menpower to handle a PC port? PC port of GTA V was pretty nice...

It's not about having the manpower, it's just that they want to "optimize" (Read: milk the money) out of their releases, so they usually double or even triple dip them.

My personal prediction is somewhere around Summer of 2020, since that would be in line with their release schedule, but maybe it could be even later depending on when next gen is launched.

My wallet is waiting for Rockstar to hurry the hell up.

It's gonna be weird, GTA V on PS3, Xbox 360 and even PS4 and Xbox One was still $60 when PC version came out and RDR2 has been 40€ / $40 for months now, and PC version which is  gonna be a year late is gonna be full price - $60?

Not nice, not only PC players skip release day HYPE, also get spoiled all over internet and pay more in 2019, unfair AF.

I know they did the triple-dip with GTA V, but as stated in this thread they timed it perfectly and it made sense with the Heist delay and then extra months to optimize PC version.

RDR2 sales have completely stopped according to news, with them selling only 1 million copies in 3 months or something? The game froze with 25 million physical sales, they need PC version ASAP to bring back some HYPE and push the sales.

Clearly RDR Online isn't driving the sales as much as GTA ONLINE is, 6 years later even with the Casino update.

I mean, they could hype it just as much with a next gen release first and later PC release as well, and they are probably gonna make more money as well since impatient people will buy all of their releases if that order is followed (But I doubt that someone that already owns the game on PC is gonna buy it on PS5 if it's released later).

Also there isn't that much hype about RDR 2 potentially coming to PC anyway, the change.org petition kinda shows that already when you compare it to the GTA V one

The difference is GTA 5 was only year old when it released on PS4 and Xbox One, RDR2 would be 2 years old, I don't think there's a remaster coming out, as PS5 and Xbox Scarlett are going to be fully backwards compatible on day one, a patch could be released for free. I think RDR2 if it's even coming out on PC is gonna release in October/November or early next year, say February or March.

Seems like the next RDO online is coming soon if we dont get an confirmation about a PC release on September looks theyre gonna go for the double dip I'm thinking theyre gonna confirm it for PC after this update just like heists back in 2014.

Most likely you'll see a PC announcement in the weeks following that update, if it comes out this year. I dunno if they will do it at the same exact time though, might lessen the hype on their big summer patch with a big shiny PC announcement.

Soon™ ^^

The earnings report for Q1 2020 will be interesting. The estimations are way higher for that quarter by analysts. So that would be a new release. We'll see what they show on Monday.

"Later this summer" is again being put in front by Rockstar for the newest Roleplaying update for RDO. Are they planning to release this in September alongside a PC version because it must be really annoying for people playing RDO to be told since 4 months that it is coming "later this summer". For me summer is almost gone, it finishes at the end of August and i don't consider September because school kicks off again so no more vacations.

It's planned for this month, I think they were 95% or 90% done with this update before the release of GTAO Casino update.

That's the main reason why R* didn't delay the casino update further to August because there was the scheduled RDO update.

Planned date for RDR2 PC hasn't changed, still holiday season or early 2020 if there's a delay.

What would be the announcement window if it is planned for holiday season?

Why would there be a delay though, I can imagine the game must be pretty much finished? I mean it's been developed on PC to begin with.

They don't just delay their games for no reason though.

GTA V PC was the same way. But it was presumably being held back to work on the PS4 and Xbox One versions. As far as we know, there are no magical PS5/Xbox Scarlett versions of RDR2 holding back a PC release at the moment. So I can't imagine why they'd delay it more than once.

There are only two possible reasons:

1. Technical difficulties
2. Marketing strategy

Or game was never planned on PC and will never be released for Windows.

It's nothing I didn't really think for myself, by pieceing together the evidence of other release windows and the activity of R* with it's other developments and updates....

Once the roles update is out of the way, the only other hold up is the possibility of map expansions around the Mexico region that is currently closed.  It's easy to assume the PC version is being held back, because modders would have a field day opening the roles and map regions themselves, especially since the framework is similar to GTA Online and Five M (RDM) would theoretically work in a similar way to open it's own dedicated servers for roleplay, etc.

If a map expansion is coming, it's reasonable to assume it will launch with a PC version day one and be an update for consoles at the same time, because there will not nothing much more to hide and R* can let modders do their stuff knowing their work is done.

It was developed for the console version.

I doubt that, a map expansion won't be happening with a PC version release.

I would assume the PC version will release with a new RDO update that will add more roles, I can only see a map expansion happening with RDR2 SP DLC.

Not really, I somehow came up with that from my ass.

That's not because a game is made on PC that the game is for the PC. Last time i checked you can make android apps on a PC but that doesn't mean that you can use it via a PC. Of course you'll create a game on PC because it's easier to type with a keyboard and simply the fact of having multi-tasking abilities makes it the best platform to work with.

You're not wrong there! I noticed some user or users above saying: "Fun said this", Fun said that", so I asked who this guy is and what knowledge he has. In return, I got a sarcastic response.

Yes, mostly from Russia-backed hackers but it's getting tougher in the US now. Damn, even in Europe too: ask @REXX about it, I've got his ass parked in ex-KGB safehouse because R* wanted him for some leaks. I know it because I'm ex-GRU myself.

Spoiler

I'm not actually and that was intended as a joke. I do not have any affiliation with any of the intelligence services and Fun is a legit informed guy.

Potentially only one more month to last before "the not so long to come" announcement.

I wonder, will this wait for the announcement be harder or the wait for release once it is announced.

where's the RDR1 pc thread?

The chance of RDR1 coming to PC is almost none existant, hence the lack of RDR1 PC thread (or an active one at least)

I kinda have the feeling of where this is going, but OK, I'll bite.....

For me, the wait of the announcement is completly harder than the wait for the release. It's just the fact of not knowing that makes it harder. Once it'll be announced, I'll actually be much more relaxed and I'll forget anything about it. I'm checking this thread every f*cking time and every time there's no new messages, I'm like "Post something you bitches" especially when I'm losing in Six Siege.

Agreed. While people say its basically confirmed, having that official statement will be very relieving.
