How can that be fake? Settings-Graphics settings are same as latest PC version of GTA V?

the GTA 5 "leak" was really fake.

you can find the unedited video on youtube.

and the mouse movement is horrible too.

but the RDR2 one looks legit

Because there are two identical videos and the original was console footage. PC Settings and Graphics were just edited over the footage.

You have the real PC version in front of you, you're gonna leak it, what do you take footage of? The visual settings? I know I wouldn't.

Also, watch that video and notice how he only makes mouse movements in the real RDU2 menus that can only be done with controller, up an down, left to right, almost as if that footage was recorded on a pad... cause it was.

Of course you would exactly show the settings, because thats the best indicator to show that it's different to the console versions.

The console versions do not have display settings with resolution, etc.

Also the RDR2 leak looks quite real since the mouse movement when he pauses the game is quite fluent and not just up/down left/right. Notice that at first the "Map" option is highlighted in white and when he moves the mouse to "Settings" it gets highlighted instantly.

There is no delay, so he is not using a controller.

Honestly, if it's real why not simply show the game files and launching the game instead of showing an in-game menu that can be faked. For the me, the mouse movement is way too smooth, the speed of the cursor is so slow.

I get what your saying but even that's easy to fake. Anyone could make a bunch of fake files filled with gibberish that look like gta5's file structure (common.rpf, x64a.rpf..... Etc Etc) and even a novice programmer could make an exe that launches a premade video or even just a green screen to overlay it in Windowed mode.

The only thing that would make me believe a leak of that nature is in game footage with mouse and keyboard or a video of the game being hex edited with cheat engine.

Best way to prove it was on PC would've been to just show us some good ol' mouse aim. The dude could've easily performed some fairly erratic mouse movements that are impossible to replicate with thumbsticks.

Probably guy who uploaded it deleted the channel or similar to make it more believeable or maybe it is legit.

Imagine the hype if they announced it today...

The speculation days were some of the best times on the RDR2 forums. I also can't wait for the hype to return. I'm hoping we get some new artworks with the PC Trailer. I don't think we'll be waiting long now for an announcement!

For Rockstar, "Soon" can go from the next day to the next months. We've been saying this since March of this year and we even have gone past the point where GTAV on PC was already announced, already more than one month

Didn't you guys realize that video has been uploaded to the Youtube in Jan 14, 2014 ? That was actually 16 months before GTA V released on PC. In January 2014, there wasn't anything about PC version but the settings section which has been shown in this video is actually real. That's why I don't understand how this can be fake.

I know this another video proves that gameplay is highly seems fake but what about settings section? So, that means the person who made this fake video also anticipated and made exactly original settings section of the PC version and put it to the video? This is impossible.

that guy just used the existing graphics settings names of Max Payne 3 and GTA IV.

it is fake

and the settings section exists on console too

This talk about the creation of the volumetrics effect and the atmospheric effects for RDR2 has some pretty nice insights. There is even one slides that kinda confirms a PC version (don't get too excited, it's only speculation and my point of view) 8ZMSDhW.png

Why would it be "Scalable for low and high end platforms" if they only plan to release this game on low-end platforms (consoles). It's basically saying that those effects have been created with scalability in-mind but you can't change graphical options on a consoles, the only platform with graphical options that can be modified in a menu by the user is the PC.

Or i'm completly wrong and they've only made it scalable for future-proofing reasons.

And he goes directly from MAP to PROGRESS, skipping the help option which wasn't highlighted at all...You can't skip options with a D-pad as far as I know.

There are some suspicious things about that video, but I don't think we can say it is fake with 100% certainty. I don't think claims like "if he wanted to show the PC version he should have done X Y Z" is proof that this is certanly a fake.

Probably a fake (a great one), but I don't think we can be completely sure.

Maybe they mean low end platforms are consoles that would support 900p and the like, while the high-end platforms are PS4 Pro and Xbone X?

But actually no, they didn't change the quality of those effects on the enhanced versions of the PS4 Pro and the One X. They only pushed the resolution and some of the filtering but they didn't touch anything else like the particles quality or other vfx effects. That's why i'm actually thinking, why make it scalable if it's only to make it future proof because adjusting parameters for the next game can work but remake or adjust directly the lightning via the engine code can provide better results than an scaling bar directly on the menu.

Ah, Rockstar. I hate them so much for waiting us PC gamers wait like this, what makes me more mad is that we even had GTA V confirmed for PC by now...

I remember getting anxiety back in 2008 when GTA IV was out for consoles and me being 16 back then seeing footage where people messed around with the physics and the general looks of the game were so awesome I couldn't wait for the PC annoucement, I daily checked release date tables at Eurogamer IIRC. And once it was announced I literally crossed out days to it's release.

With GTA V I was also hyped a lot when that trailer dropped right before E3, but I wasn't that anxious while waiting.

But now with RDR2 I feel that anxiety again strangely... but tbf it's a darn good game and we all know it's coming, but the silence is painful.

I think the scalable thing is certainly very telling. As already mentioned, I doubt they touch those effects at all between PS4 and PS4 Pro. So the low-end/high-end must refer to the PC in this case. Or maybe future, next-gen releases.

Well, comparing a PS4 slim to a PS4 Pro thats "lower" vs "higher"-end though :D

I believe the Slim has the same specs as a regular PS4, right? So it'd be just a PS4 vs a Pro. Still, the scalable effects mentioned on that page don't really change between the two versions, as far as I know.

Those slides are really interesting. I have the same opinion as @Xerukal, why make it scalable if you don't plan to increase them for the enhanced version (and they did not, like i said only the resolution and some of the filtering has been touched). I mean, when going from the PS3 to the PS4 for GTA V, they clearly told us that they have improved particles quality and increase effects like godrays and that they also added more NPC on foot and more cars on the road. They didn't even start the marketing of RDR2 with an PS4 pro or One X (don't even know if those existed back in 2016) but simply with "a PS4" but when you look at it now, you can clearly see it's a PC version, everything looks so crisp (bye that old blur that exist on the PS4/PS4Pro/One/One S versions), there's more grass.

Everything looks like it was captured on PC on that trailer

You're right with that.

The slim version is actually the same, just with a smaller architecture, so power consumption and size was reduced. :O

Yup. I play RDR2 on the first PS4 Pro and that c*nt sounds like a damn hairdryer... and it produces a similar amount of heat in the same time, useful in winter.

Maybe I should have waited for the 3rd revision of the Pro from Nov 2018 and should've bought it with RDR2 in bundle...

On-topic:

Apart from that, I'm actually hyped a lot for the modding community when stuff like LSPD:FR or server projects like FiveM hit RDR 2 giving us all the freedom for creativity :D

You might want to look for dust build up because that can increase the temperature and so increase the speed of the fans which transforms it into a reactor plane

You could also show mouse driven gameplay, which looks very different to controller gameplay. That's the best indicator (even then that can be faked with XIM's). Graphic menus are far from the best way, as they've been faked a million times before, including for GTA. That said, didn't notice the very start where it looks to jump from map to progress I didn't notice at first, that is interesting but at the same time, the slowish move to settings and then once he's in the settings page the "Control" section is highlighted automatically despite his cursor not being on it and he then goes all the up and around to display, to potentially hide the controller usage. Display is also one big "catch all" page for all the graphics settings and HUD stuff in one giant section rather than gfx settings having it's own page / section.

There's a lot of reason to doubt that video.

The scalable thing is likely talking about RAGE as a whole too, that SIGGRAPH presentation outlines advances made in the latest versions of RAGE, and we do know RAGE is also a PC engine so...  That said, it's IMPRESSIVE what they've done graphics-wise for RDR2 and the newest version of RAGE.
