Irrational Annoyances

Mission cutscenes when the target hapily runs away while the protagonists just sits around like an asshole letting them get a headstart.

Take "Love Juice" for example. The dealer runs up to Tommy and says "I got what you need!" and then says "Thanks for the money sucka!" and Tommy just sits put letting the asshole casually jog up to his bike and drive off and WHY AM I STILL SITTING STILL?

Then there's mission where we're told to "stop target" and we're chasing their car. But you're not supposed to stop them, but follow them as if you get closer, they accelerate away because you MUST let them get to a destination. Missions that say follow get a pass from this idiotic fake design. Reminds me of Driv3r. You never stop the targets you're supposed to catch. The cutscenes do.

The explosions don't always behead or maim the enemies and I'm always disappointed and frustrated when the corpse remains entire even if none comes to resurrect the victim.

I don't care about it much anymore, but I used to get annoyed that GTA V's Grove St didn't have the bridge passing over it like in the San Andreas version. Its funny cause the whole 'Grove occupied by the Ballas now' thing didn't bother me but the absence of the Ganton bridge(which would be the Davis bridge in V i think) used to feel quite off putting.

Los Santos is obviously Los Angeles and Sandy Shores is one of many small desert communities excepting Palm Springs.  Neither of these locales in known for rainfall.  So will someone explain to me why in GTA both places have more rain than Seattle???

Property Management missions, absolutely useless and boring.  Case in point in my current game I had saved as Michael down the street from the Kortz Center as the next mission was the Wrap Up.  It's Monday morning, as I start to drive to the mission, I get a stupid alert that my movie theater has been robbed.  I turn around and chase down the thief, now I am miles away by the airport.  I switch to Franklin, it's now Monday afternoon, and I get an alert that the weed van has been stolen.  Now I'm stuck driving around the dam to track it down, retrieve it and driving it to Vespucci Beach.  As I am heading North after dropping off the van another alert.  The cab compsny needs me to pickup a fare.  Off to the Observatory to pick up snobby customer who wants to go to the best clothes store.  It's now Tuesday morning before sunrise as I drop her at Ponsonboys.  Since I am there I buy another $3G golf outfit, and at sunrise call Michael to hang out and play golf.  After golf and visits to two bars, I drop Michael off and again start driving (luckily I've saved).  Not really heading anywhere specific but thinking maybe I'll pass the stunt plane trials again this time as Franklin.  Of course another stupid alert this time from the Hen House.  No I don't want to drive all the way over to the Vineyard to pick up the liquor truck and then off to the Hen House.  I reload, switch to Michael, and guess what another alert can I fly the stunt plane and do a promotion (it is a little shy of Midnight so technically still Tuesday).  Off to the airport, flying around in the plane, land and now on Wednesday morning I actually get to start and finish the Wrap Up mission.  Wednesday afternoon I call Jimmy to hang out, he's over at the Mall, as I drive to get him am stuck with the mandatory follow up Dave call.  After he shuts up, I pick up Jimmy and start driving, another alert my other movie theater has been robbed.  This is just too annoying and a waste of time.  Reload the game, Jimmy is now waiting at Suburban in Vespucci, at least this time I can pick him up and hang out without an alert while driving to the destination (it was Tennis btw).  Drop him off and just to see how ridiculous GTA V and the property mission alets can be drive toward the Vinewood movie theater, sure enough another alert.

So that is 3 days of in game time, and 4 property management missions which could have been 6 easily.  So much for allowing players to free roam the world.  Ridiculous!!!

The fact that the way you press the button to get in a taxi or helicopter for a ride vs jack a taxi or helicopter (hold vs tap) is one way round in IV but the opposite way round in V

I am annoyed in SA when I see for 9999999... times same ped models in Los Santos,San Fierro and Las Venturas.I mean they should made more peds,no realism here;maybe like IV.In specially after you kill one and seconds later you see 'someone' like the one you killed before.

To be fair I prefer the way GTA V does it. I don't know how many times in GTA IV I've tried to get into a taxi as a passenger only to steal it instead lol.

I do prefer the V way as well but I can't deal with switching between them 😛

When I burn my enemies in GTA San Andreas they are always resurrectable, whereas in 3 and Vice City my charred victims are dead as mutton. Fortunately the charred body mod partially fixes it.

This also happens in LCS and the reasons are so completely stupid. It's in that one mission where you meet the guy behind the church, at the cemetary and then you're forced into a stupid chase. It's really annoying, and hell I don't even think it's an irrational annoyance, it just is plain annoying!

I've seen people say before that it's annoying when Niko or whoever makes a phonecall after the end of most missions, but to be honest I find it annoying when they don't. Like if you're being paid to do a hit on someone the employer would expect to be informed that the job's been done.

Doing it and not even confirming just seems silly to me.

It's not so much the fact that he makes a phone call as the way it's implemented. The way it's sprung on you when you're getting your bearings after a mission and the way it's so easy for phone calls to get interrupted (by being bumped or shot or by pressing the hang up button to do something else just as it rings) means it's easy to accidentally skip it, with no second chance for it to ring again or call back. You even get them after missions where you don't lose your wanted level at the end making it almost impossible to take the call. It's more an issue with the way phone calls work than anything, hang up/reject call button shouldn't have been the same button that's frequently used for other things and the phone shouldn't have automatically hung up so easily.

The fact you always have to visit your businesses to harvest your income can be boring at times especially in San Andreas where you need to wait close to the dollar symbol so the income increases fastly. The GTA's would be more entertaining if you could take all your income in a safechest inside your safehouses like in Saints row 2.

I agree that it's impractical, but in the only two games I play where you do that (Vice City and San Andreas) there's ways to max out your money at many millions of dollars so by the end of the game I don't need to collect it anyway (and while playing through the game I'm near them by chance often enough to keep topped up with plenty of money). I actively avoid collecting it so that each one is always at the full amount just in case I blow a lot of money on random things and want to top it back up to $999,999,999.

VCS fixed it up and you get your income paid into your account every week.

HD era cops are the most annoying cops ever I was at Vespucci beach and accidentally punched a ped and then another ped called the police next thing I know cops are swarming the beach like I just called and left a bomb threat now I’m ducking cops and hiding in alleys over a simple punch

3D era was the slightest bump on a motorcycle you fly off this irritated me mainly in missions because if I’m chasing someone on a motorcycle they have a flawless drive they don’t even have to worry about crashing because they destroy what ever is in their way

CJ opens car doors in the most ridiculous way possible.

This made me laugh just thinking about it. It's so exaggerated and theatrical.

In IV, when I get ran over by some random NPC and they manage to park on top of me until I slowly die... every time I try to make a note of which ped model it was so I can run them over later.

Also in SA, when CJ is past a certain level of muscle he does this weird lopsided run where one of his arms swings high and the other one barely swings at all. It's f*cking weird and always irked me.

I really don't like seeing all these destroyed cars on bridges in Grand Theft Auto IV. Learn how to drive, dudes!

The muscle run always bothered me too. It always looked really weird, and I thought the normal run was fine. I keep my muscle to a minimum when I play the game nowadays.
