Homemade Dynamite
There have been cases where games changed genres, either as a spin-off or permanent transition. In any case, do you have a franchise you like that you would want to see done in a different genre? What features would you expect in this case? I'll see what you guys come up with. For me, I have one of my own: Open world Halo game. The idea is take the first-person gameplay of Halo and apply it to a sandbox setting. You would have multiple worlds, all of them are open which you can traverse with vehicles. You can upgrade weapons and your armor, do sidequests, and missions would involve areas of the map. There's a vertical element as some places like mountains would only be accessible by aircraft or by going underground. There would be secrets to find, and each world would have a unique layout and backstory. Then of course, you have combat which can be tackled in multiple ways depending on when and how you approach it. My idea for worlds includes Earth (a city space like New Mombasa with a surrounding desert), an alien world that humans have colonized (with a colder feel to contrast the desert), and a Halo ring (self explanatory). It's something I wanted to see for a while, and the idea of "open world Halo" was vaguely done in ODST but it was basically a linear hub map and never has the idea of a Halo sandbox ever been done again. Unfortunately, this would require 343 to actually make a true to form Halo style gameplay to be done right, and none of the stupid "modernizations" they've tried to tag on like spiriting and aiming down sights. They've proven they don't get what makes Halo good, so fat chance they could make an open world Halo done right. luisniko
Metal Slug to turn into 3D, but unlike the one in PS2. Wishlist: - What I want is a 3D version that comes with a different art style. Anime style is alright, but I want the body proportion to be more realistic. - Maybe no need open world, just go with linear stage is fine for a first step. - Then after the story is done, a new game mode with randomly generated stages will be unlock as the end game material. - A custom character mode as post ending unlock would be a cool addition as well, - alongside the existing operators from the previous games like Marco, Tarma, Eri, Fio, Trevor, Nadia with their own costume customisation options - I imagine the game to keep the same gore tonality with run-n-gun shooter style with slightly less exaggerated gun fire and artillery - Ducking and taking cover are obviously still available and needed to do as players are required to not only pay attention vertically, but also horizontally - Overall the tone would still be fun, up-beat, fast paced, but also dark. - Free aim only Co-op up to 2 players for couch and 4 players online. Strictly PvE. No PvP bullsh*t, especially turning into battle royal or Overwatch. Edited August 14, 2018 by luisniko
Edward Nashton
Ooo! I got one! A first person survival horror series that runs parallel to the Batman Arkham games. After all, most of Batman's villains are absolutely terrifying to the average person when encountered. - The first one would be set during Arkham Asylum. You'd play as an orderly trying to survive the night, weapons would be sparse and mainly consisting of improvised melee instruments. Health doesn't regenerate so you'll have to collect med-kits throughout the facilities, and stealth and evasion would be your main tools when encountering the freed inmates of the asylum, direct combat being a last resort - taking on multiple enemies would be suicide, after all, you're not Batman. The main big bads like the Joker, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow etc. would serve as recurring boss encounters where you'd have to avoid becoming their next victim by escaping the particular area they're currently in. All of their gimmicks will be in play as well, Joker gas, Ivy's man eating plants and mind control pheromones, fear toxin, the works. -The second one would take place during Arkham City. You'll be a political prisoner thrown in at the same time as Bruce Wayne. The same rules and gameplay as above will apply but it would have a slightly more action oriented feel, think Condemned: Criminal Origins. So, more melee weapons would be readily available and you could come across the occasional pistol with a hand full of rounds. You'll have to explore the derelict buildings for supplies and improvised armor like football helmets and hockey pads and hope they're not the homes of gang members or psychos. - Finally, the third would be set during Arkham Knight. You'd be a survivor from the diner shooting who was left behind while recovering at the hospital. It would basically play identically to the second one just on a much larger map. But since you were exposed to Scarecrow's fear toxin and you don't have the iron will of the Dark Knight, you'd frequently hallucinate and the world would shift into a Silent Hill-like otherworld, where you perceive enemies as horrifically disfigured monstrosities. Mister Pink
Deux Ex. Although it's great as it is, sectioned, explorable environments, with multiple ways to access new areas via ventilation ducts, sewers access, wall-breaking (if you got the perks), hacking and entering, climbing through windows, stealth etc etc, I would love to see a Deus Ex-style explorable city. Maybe the size of Arkham City when you can enter a lot of buildings, in the multiple ways as I suggested. It's a cyberpunk world with a more open-world feel but not too open-world or too big but just enough to warrant the introduction of working cars and vehicles. I realize Cyberpunk is coming out but..can't beat Deus Ex's atmosphere, sneaking around hacking computers, sneaking in to people's apartments, climbing down in the sewers and hiding in the air ducts. That on bigger scale where there's less of the sense of things being closed off would be nice. Edward Nashton
@Mister Pink Believe it or not, I was actually going to suggest something very similar to what you said before I went with the Arkham survival horror idea . I didn't go with it because I figured it would just sound like I was describing Cyberpunk 2077. I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates Deus Ex's distinct take on the cyberpunk genre and would like to see it step a bit towards open-world. Fingers crossed, Cyberpunk delivers something close. Edward Nashton 1 🆆🅰🅽🅽🅰 🅶🅴🆃 🅱🅰🅲🅺 🆈🅾🆄🆁 🅻🅾🆅🅴

chronic lumbago
I'd love to play an open world singleplayer Battlefield with destructive enviroments that get rebuild by enemies once enough time passes. They wouldn't replace buildings 1:1 but create sort of DIY buildings or even new outposts. Also I'd love if open world games copypasted the Nemesis sytem from the middle earth games.
