Children in RDR 2?

Considering that the combat in this game is so brutal (so much that it is uncomfortable as seen in that Spanish review), I'm guessing we'll be able to kill kids, but they will die instantly, and we won't be able to torture them or anything. Our honor will also probably go down.

Honor would definitely go down regardless if it's a kid or not. You killed an innocent person

It'll be nice if the mask still works on shielding honor this game

I created an account just to respond to this thread.

I completely agree with the person that said if you're unable to kill kids, then there's no point of adding them.

I find it very odd and bizarre that you people would have a problem with killing kids in a video game. Are you unable to separate fantasy from reality?

I don't know about other people, but when I'm playing a video game, I don't have any remorse or guilty feelings after killing someone. It's a video game in the end. Nothing to do with reality.

It's also very hypocritical to say killing children is unacceptable because they're "innocent" but don't have an issue with killing animals.

If you're unable to play a game and leave your sense of morality and feelings in the world of reality, then perhaps you shouldn't be playing video games.

Hello mate.

I cant agree with you on the points you make.

Its about immersion and the breaking of immersion.

Children imo add a great deal to the immersion because they are usually a part of families (duh).

I also made the point, that not being able to kill children, cant take as much of immersion away as they added in the first place with their existence.

And if you dont have any remorse or guilty feelings after killing someone in the game, did the game immerse you in the first place?

I have the same stance on animals but usually you dont use the leather of a killed child to make a new hat. (So its not hypocritical at all)

If a game achieves to immerse you in a way that you cant leave your morality and senses cut off from it, then it did a f*cking great job.

If not its probably from Ubisoft.

Same goes for movies, no?

Also whats your take on the guy in the UK who got arrested because he made cp from Skyrim-Mods?

Kinda familiar problem i think.

If Rockstar allowed it they would go from being in hot water (as they're accustomed to with most of their releases) to boiling lava which they couldn't handle.

There's one very simple reason 99% of games with kids don't allow you to kill them, age ratings.

It's a very simple way to get an Adults only rating for your game and nobody wants that because it hurts sales.

I don't mind immortal kids so long as they don't make them antagonising little sh*ts like they are in skyrim.

I don’t think the discussion about how players feel like is worth it because most of us know that it’s only a game.

The issue is what people outside of the gaming community may think, and what legal actions they could take.

The only 'legal' actions they can take is ban the game in Australia

In Russia for example every game with a Mature 17+ rating gets 18+ anyway.

If this thread is just gonna continue to devolve into an argument over what type of people want to or don't want to harm children in video games the thread will be locked.

There's more to discuss about them in RDR2 than whether or not they can be harmed.

People in general should stop using sarcasm and everything that comes with it. But I'm afraid it's never gonna happen.

I remember in the Witcher 3 there were some great quests with kids. They can add alot to the game, killable or not.

Or maybe they can stop being a bunch of pansies and let us kill the kids if we want

this is a video game and at the end of the day these "kids" are nothing more than lines of code

I think you should not take everything so seriously, it's just the children in the game, and in general , the games take a lot of time, I love learning, by clicking on this website you will find examples of my work, there I write dissertations and essays, thank you for your attention.
