Doubt it's been in fully fledged development for 8 years, but surely more than 2 or 3? GTA IV and GTA V took longer than 3 years to make did they not? 

 

Edit: Apparently preliminary work for GTA V began immediately after GTA IV's release, but full development didn't really start until after the release of Red Dead Redemption (so a little over 3 years before release). And given that even more people are working on RDR 2 than GTA V, it seems totally feasible they could make the game in 3 years.

You’re right. Has to be bigger. Even the gameplay trailer talks about the gang moving camp throughout the game, in various locations. Can’t imagine that happening without a huge , dense map to work with for that feature in the game.

I got this message after pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition on Microsoft: "All downloads you have purchased (except pre-orders) are now available. If you have pre-ordered downloadable items, we charge you up to 10 days before the release date of items you download." I still got the same amount of money in my bank as I did before I bought it. Still can't believe that after the dumpster fire that was V. Ill believe it when I see it. Not sh*tting  on you, just that we've heard these things before but in reality it was just a little shy if the mark.

If you call V a "dumpster fire," I sure as hell can't take seriously any of your negative opinions about RDR2.

Lol V had problems (so did IV, SA and every other GTA) but it was hardly a dumpster fire. Those rose tinted glasses will get you every time.  Even if RDR II is amazing, people will nitpick it into oblivion and find some reason to hate it. Some people won’t be satisfied unless they get exactly what they want, even if their expectations are way over the top

Especially the dudes here. The complaints will definitely be on the same scale as V mark my words. People will have issues with no finger nail growth, the beard doesn't grow long enough etc [petty sh*t] people will find any and everything to complain about nowdays.

Remember when people wanted realistic bullet wounds that could get infected and you’d have to go to a doctor to get them removed? That would just ruin the game for me. Too much realism is not a good thing. You need to balance it with having fun

ffs R* could give us Westworld and people would still be complaining about stuff like the hookers not giving you STDs or that we couldn't die from tuberculosis

I hope games in like 5-10 years have like a realism setting or something. You could choose an unrealistic yet fun and wacky option. The right balance between realism and fun and ultra realistic when you want something more challenging like gas for cars or realistic health etc. I'd love to play with all three options depending on what i feel to do. Obviously it would be a lot to do but i think something like that is manageble. RDR2 looks like a game i expected around 2025.

Sh*t hard to tell. Sometimes I'd like to go very realistic but other times, realism in V can annoy me. I guess using the toilet and running out of stamina can get annoying. I think it would be fun to have a very realistic GTA Online though blood loss, cars run out of gas and all that. I wouldn't find it that annoying there as I would in singleplayer if that makes any sense

And the gameplay trailer said sweeping deserts right ?deserts? Plural?  even if the leaked map was updated I don’t believe it can hold more then one desert but then again I don’t know sh*t

Nah,they released the leak in the beginning of 2018,but they said they received the leak back in 2017.They leaked the AI interaction system way before the Journalist previews,they also leaked fishing and other stuff.
