[GTAO] You're Stuck In One Area of the Map with Four Random Players

The scenario is right out of the Twilight Zone.

You log onto GTAO, and find yourself stuck in one area of the map – like, the "construction buidling," the Wind Farm, the pier's Fairgrounds, or even by the river at Raton Canyon.

At first, you don't think much about it and assume you just spawned into a random location.

But, as soon as you reach a certain boundary limit, you begin to understand that you're stuck in this one area and there's no way out of it.
It wasn't your choice, so you've literally got nowhere to go.

Immediately, you think, "yeah, well, I'm outta this session!" but find that all options to change sessions are grayed out.
In fact and out of frustration, you try to shut down but realize you can't! The game just keeps going.
You pull the plug and disconnect the tv/monitor – no luck! The GTAO persists! 

That's when you start to get a little freaked, saying out loud, "what the?"

Then, you hear a voice.

"Hello?"

You are suddenly aware that someone else is with you, online, stuck in the same area as you.

No idea who they are or where they are, you reply, "Hey, what's up? I think I'm stuck here!"

"Yeah, me too!" they answer. "Where are you?"

But, just as soon as you are about to answer, you see in the distance, three other players in a firefight.
One of them kills both players and they turn to see you.  They begin to run toward you, strafing and shuffling and rolling, shooting at you.

The voice calls out, "Dude! RUN!"  So you begin to run!

It's clear that there are five players in this crazy lobby. Five random players, but only one of them is talking.
The other two are ready to fight, but one of them has already been identified by a notice as ,"Going Psycho."

TL;DR
You're stuck in a section of the map with four randoms: one who can talk to you and hear you, two who are ready to fight, and one who is certifiably "psycho."
You can't shut the game off, even when you unplug it.
Your HUD works, but the Mini Map isn't showing player blips. Options to change sessions or quit are not working.
You have all the weapons you had at last login, but whatever you use up is gone and cannot be replenished.
You can call for your vehicle, but can access it only if you spawned near a road, not inside a location like the Construction building.
Passive is grayed out and phone contacts don't answer.
The Easy Way Out is ineffective, as you don't die, but instead just fall on the ground for a few seconds, before getting back up.
The other players were killed and respawned, so clearly you don't die in this scenario.
Cops are strangely in absentia.

STILL TL;DR
So, some questions to ask might be: 
• What is your impression of the scenario?
• Which location would you prefer to be if this happened?
• How would you proceed: stay & play or walk away?
• What about the other players? Would you try to engage them or just go PvP?
• What would  would you do and how long could you do it for?

Something out of a cliche creepypasta, but definitely would be bizarre.

Which location would you prefer to be if this happened?

The cemetery, but this time, it's all dark, no people are to be found, it's raining and all the lights in LS are turned off to make it extra moody.
How would you proceed: stay & play or walk away?

Stay and play to figure out what this is all about.

What about the other players? Would you try to engage them or just go PvP?

I'd hide and try to engage them more carefully rather than just fight them head-on.
What  would you do and how long could you do it for?

Survive, I guess.

 

This is a very interesting topic, but there's some information missing. What happens when you die? Does your character get deleted? Do you die in real life? Is the HUD completely turned off so you're dependent on sound and good sight alone? Are all weapons there with you or just certain guns? There are more things that could be added to this topic to make it extra interesting, maybe interesting enough to make GTAO look like an entire different game when played this way.

It reminds me of an episode of Arby n' the Chief from way-back-when, and it strikes me as similar to when I used to play local 4-way slayer matches in Halo. Sometimes it'd just be goofing around, other times it's WAR!

 

Probably somewhere with a lot of alleys and vertical mobility, like the Vespucci boardwalk, Textile City, or in Rockford Hills' shopping area. Makes for an interesting player/player experience.

 

Well, I'd want to know more. With enough cooperation, the other players could overpower the one Going Psycho, and assuming peace could be struck, it'd be a time to get to socialize with other GTA players.

 

I am the suckiest at PvP, so no PvP for me. Again, I'd just want to see what others think and are doing in our little slice of heaven.

 

I dunno. If it's boring, I'd probably just go watch M*A*S*H or something, but if the other players are engaging, who knows what kinds of conversations could blossom?

 

Keep up the good threads, @fw3! I'd certainly find it interesting to be stuck with you in a city block for a few hours.

Well looks like one of the guys are "friendly" they talk to us, but could also be an enemy, but i have no other choice than to get known that friendly player, but if it turns out to be the psycho that wants to kill me i'm ready,

 

set a rendezvous point with that guy, but rather than show up, i watch from the distance if it turns out to be the psychos, i should call my vehicle get to the nearest road to enter my vehicle (khanjali) and blast them psychos

 

This is a great thread it reminds me of twilight zone episode the one where a man stranded in a ruined city, where he met a woman and dance together i forgot the name but it was great, big fan of twilight zone, the ones with that us marine is switched to japanese army is also great

2. Beach, cuz i've never been to beach with 4 (or even 5????) fellas.
3. I'd watch what will happen next. If fight, then i'll walk away. If love, then i'll join.

Well, I'll stay and try to make the others walk away.

Yes, I'll fight them, randoms are randoms, I don't go out of my way to kill people in Freeroam but if my aim locks on or my bullets can reach someone in my screen, I'll shoot first and never ask questions.

I'll probably be all about my system being on while unplugged but also trying not to get killed by the other people nearby.

If you're inside you probably can't pvp anyway. Probably ask if anyone knows what is going on, and how to fix it.

What is your impression of the scenario?

Interesting; I say this up front, because most of the scenario is more or less everything this game is not about for me

 

it starts out as a no-win scenario, twofold:

- I know I stand no chance against any decisive aggressor, no matter how many people I could talk into cooperation (I doubt I could, by the way), so there are no victory conditions, and as long as we are not talking about some weird Sword Art Online full-immersion scenario, there is nothing I have to lose either. In fact, I have already lost, for the game was evidently ruined.

- I have nothing to gain by this scenario; the only option agreeable to me would be the Psycho getting neutralized, the rest coming around reaching a truce - fat chance for that, considering the state of human nature. But for that minimal hope, I keep hooked for a while.

 

Which location would you prefer to be if this happened?

Either my Yacht, or my Nightclub, so I can spend my last minutes of virtual life either looking at the sea, or dancing.

 

How would you proceed: stay & play or walk away?

Walk away, in whatever way possible. I feel sorry for the one in the comm line, for I'm poor help, obviously. If from that quarter some suggestion comes as to how I can help, can't hurt to give it a try, of course.

 

What about the other players? Would you try to engage them or just go PvP?

Engage, obviously, for there is always a chance and ways to communicate; PvP very last option in this case, since signing off doesn't help.

 

What would  would you do and how long could you do it for?

As mentioned above, I would evaluate possibilities of a peaceful solution, study the behavior of the others for a while until I know their pattern, but otherwise I guess the scenario is a no-winner for me in 15 minutes, tops.

Believe it or not, in over a year of gaming, I have not fired a single bullet or rocket at a random human controlled character. I've been coaxed once into scoring some kills on crew mates by their own bidding, and I couldn't help winning Deadline (so people exploded), but PvP is really not my type of game. So i really would take this scenario as a case study. Interesting at that, but nothing I think i can personally engage in.

First I'd sh*t myself. Just the premise alone would take me out of my comfort zone, lol.

 

I wouldn't piss off 'the voice' they'll come into it later for me, so I'd be 'good KWF'

 

Location would be Grapeseed. I enjoy the area and if I can, I'll just wander/drive about and even hope to race about, PvP would be what I'd expect, but I'd do my best to avoid the initial rush and hope we all run out of ammo quickly.

 

It would bore me to tears and I'd be at huge risk of just throwing the Playstation off the balcony, lol. I ain't wasting the electric, lol. If it's still working after - Bruce Almighty style - Then I'd look in every way to avoid PvP and wait it out. The K/D means nothing to me, lol. So if it means going to sleep IRL to let the others run out of ammo and get bored, so be it. Someone else can win that part.

 

The fun for me comes after that. Hanging out, chatting, goofing, driving, walking the lands, stealing, hitting up cops and hookers, racing, parachuting, bikes, whatever we can find. (Of course, after 5 years much of this has been done so much too that even that would be limited because of the location limits).

 

You know, GTA.

I think the only possible way I could get out of this zone is with Pisswaser, granted I have enough. Thing is, it doesn't kill you (bypassing the respawn) but will make you pass out, automatically teleporting you to the hospital.

I think that this Matrix has no hospital so all you're accomplishing is seeing how friendly that mic'd player is. Wear a belt!

Either EA bought GTA V and releasing parts of the map as DLC or my game is suddenly a fw3 thread: bizarre. I'm going with the latter.

 

Which location would you prefer to be if this happened?

My apartment. I'm definitely not surviving on the street, no way Joseph. Death may not be permanent but it still hurts like hell to get shot. That way I have four players in my apartment and a great opportunity to show them my bedroom.

How would you proceed: stay & play or walk away?

Well it's my place so I'm gonna stay. Why walk away when someone is friendly? That's like one more friendly player than the typical GTA lobby!

What about the other players? Would you try to engage them or just go PvP?

Now they might be all cheerful and forget their fighting when they see Playboy's 1986's Playmate Of The Year right in front of them but my face surgeries didn't work out like intended. Before they can spot me I need to put on a facial cream mask (minus the cucumbers cause they smell after usage) and then greet them. This tactic will ensure a friendly apartment lobby.

What would would you do and how long could you do it for?

After greeting them and offering them green tea and diet biscuits I'd try to sell them Tupperware © . It's my newest get-quick-scheme. Why put your drugs in ziplocs when you can ensure freshness and easy access from a Tupperware © ? Only Tupperware © can keep your meth tasting so fresh or your money back guaranteed! Not only will I have four new friends but I'll also be richer by the time I'm allowed to kick them out. Or stay the night and make them walk funny the next morning, who knows.

If by some miracle they don't want to hear my Tupperware © pitch and want to fight then I'll just say this...
