Probably because it's an asset from RDR2, tweaked for GTAO - from the sounds of things the RDR2 versions will be more-or-less identical (just even more polished, since the game isn't half a decade old... ). The rampage mode is a nice touch and the animations are brutal... I noticed the hatchet even leaves blood marks on the weapon unlike the original hatchet. Also, RE Maude's retirement and timeline comments. (In case they haven't been answered, lol). It's entirely possible in this GTA universe that she intended to retire to the beach or something.
