Clubs wasted potential & How would you improve them?

As many people said before me - this could be the best dlc ever (if it was done right).

I rly liked the idea of clubs but the thing they gave us will be completely forgotten in couple of weeks. Why would anyone visit a club if they all look exactly the same and theres nothing to do inside beside dancing? People are already bored by them... If you seen two of them you basically seen them all.

IMO they should make part 2 and improve them with:

Better customization
I mean srsly only 2-3 themes and different lightning? Thats it? Feels more like another bunker then a club...
- Let us pick different colors for those themes (and add more of them)
- ability to add crew logo on walls (we can already do that in motorcycle clubs)
- let us pick different props and furniture
- customizable dance floor and VIP section
- customizable staff
- ability to name our drinks
- ability to name our club

I get the gimmick, NPCs can say the name now. But I would rather have my own unique name then something generic just so they can say it handful of times. They could easily just give us both options:
You want NPCs to say the generic name? Fine.
BUT if you prefer your own unique name just make them say "go back to <the club>"  instead of "go back to <insert name here>"

Cut content minigames
Pool tables, air hokey, arcade games. Dancing is fun for now but it will get boring rly fast.

Different music genres
no explanation needed.

Missions
After unlocking all DJs there will be nothing else to do other then those popularity missions...
We need something more. Something like new VIP missions / Biker contracts.

Clothing
For me the worst part of this dlc. Couple rly ugly retextures and thats it? Every npc in the club looks better then we do. How could they have nightclubs dlc without:
- New suits and colorful shirts
- New accessories, party masks, glasses, hats, MardiGras necklaces, ties
- New tattoos, glowing body paint, new haircuts
- Lazlows glowing shoes

Weapons
not that impotent for nightclubs but:
- throwable glow sticks
- water balloons and water guns
- paintball guns
- throwable eggs
- pepper spray
- sticky flares
- tshirt cannon
- "My Little Friend" from Scarface

Other random things I would love to see:
- Bring back Bahama Mamas and Comedy Clubs
- New phones with new themes and ringtones
- Mission where you throw a party using Festival Bus. Attract npcs and sell them drugs and alcohol (Similar to those Ice cream missions from older games)
- Go-karts
- More classic cars
- Scarface vibe
- new custom limo (other then patriot)

So my question is simple - How would you improve this dlc?

The Terrorbyte adds new missions from the touchscreen in the back.

You basically become an asshole Superhero/Super Villain doing medium level robberies.

I'm aware of that, but that doesn't rly fit the theme of nightclubs. Feels more like something from DDH.

Piro, you pretty much said everything I'd like to improve.

My highlights:

+ Nightclub themed styles (classic, retro, futuristic, neon, retrofuturistic, post apocalyptic, luxury...)

+ Different music (techno, house, pop, sinthwave...)

+ More light effects

+ More names (I'm fine with the game giving me preset names, as soon as NPCs say them) and choosing fonts for them

+ Better locations and exteriors

+ Helipad and direct entrance to your office/room

+ Clothes and actions

I will admit that a helipad would be great and a lift to and from the roof.

I wish we could summon PV's from the computer like we can with the PA in Offices.

When it comes to club customization, I don't need more - ability to name the property, and choose its interior colors would be enough for me, albeit more options, like mentioned custom floors or crew logos on walls would be very pleasant additions as well. Heck, why not adding some options to garages as well? After all, as of now, they are literally the only reason to buy a night club, and even then, let's face it - office garages look better, and nothing beats view from Lombank's windows.

I literally couldn't care less about NPCs saying the club's name. It's not even a name I'd want, so why would anyone expect me to give two damns about it? There already are different versions of the same cutscenes or dialogues involving the name, so why won't R* just add a shortened version not containing it? Simple.

I'm serious now - until that happens, I'm not buying a club. Plain and simple, and I'm a man of my word.

As for content minigames, I really don't think they have place in a nightclub. In different types of properties, sure, and I think I'd be for that.

Different genres? Yeah, sure, I'd welcome something similar to Radio Mirror Park, don't care about much else, really, since I've lost any hope for proper rock/metal music in the game, and we already have >9000 rap radio stations, so who cares? Or maybe something like the good old Rise FM, or 80's flavoured Flashback FM/Flash FM/Wave 103. I mean stylistically, I don't expect licensed tracks from Michael Jackson or Blondie to be included in GTA Online. Nonetheless, that are types of music that'd fit the clubbing theme perfectly, in my opinion, and ones that'd bring tears to our eyes remembering the good old times.

Missions would be nice, since clubs offer no gameplay whatsoever. I'd also welcome supply missions, as sad as it sounds, to make them somewhat independent from other businesses. And no, this entire freeroam crap added is not enough. not for someone who does business stuff in a solo public session, that is :P

I already said how disappointed I am with clothing in the "regarding female clothing" thread. I don't mind a portion of items being retextures of already existing stuff, I'm open for compromises, and honestly, something like a recolored variant of one of the dresses we've got for years, could possibly satisfy me. We need diversity, we need something else than baggy camo rags. I fully understand we'll never get as much freedom as we have in The Sims 3, but After Hours' clothes were a result of sheer laziness, nothing more. It's sad.

You know what could be cool as well? Some glowing accessories, like glasses or bracelets.

Of course, we absolutely, desperately need some new hairstyles, this is a must.

I'm indifferent about weapons. Yeah, whatever. Glowing sticks could be cool, though. Either way, I'm neither in favour nor against new weapons. I have the militaristic theme of Gunrunning, so I never purchased a bunker, which is just repulsive to me, thus I don't have access to Mk.2 weapons. And honestly, I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

We also should discuss the business element of clubs in depth. I would love to see new delivery trucks being available during selling missions from other businesses, for example - for once they'd be doable solo, and wouldn't be painfully boring and tedious, like Post-Op vans. Someone on the forums proposed giving yachts something to do - once again, I'd be all for that. Let us throw parties on them, or use them to generate more revenue from the club. And speaking of, payouts from After Hours are insultingly bad - they pay less than contact missions, smuggling, forging documents, and unless you own all other businesses so you can get the very generous 50k$/hour, selling cars at LSC every day will get you more money.

I like the idea of passive income, but we should be able to get involved in the process as well, occupy our time with something and speed up the entire process.

Sadly, once R* shoot their wad at a theme/DLC they don't often revisit it for quality of life improvements.

^ Granted, but maybe "Business Consolidation" is meant in a double sense. Maybe this is R* finally wrapping up principal theme development, and the next years will see revisiting the older stuff, and dishing out whatever they have stored in the shelves, all neatly (ok, R*-standard-neatly) snapped onto the new center piece, the Nightclub.

I repeat myself, sorry, but there is HUGE room as to how they can expand the mission selection; said four DJs are maybe a way of setting up how much the player wants to invest in running the "official" side of the club. With Solomun they launched entrance level, which is low payout, low club revenue, low challenge, too, and low time investment (ca. 5-10 minutes the hour to keep popularity high)

Maybe the last DJ, Black Madonna, once installed, offers more missions on par with VIP/Biker ("Cause havoc in Vanilla Unicorn, then poach the dancers!"), popularity decreases more aggressively, but payouts are higher, and the revenue cap is raised, too.

Mini games, clothes, and stuff come with filler DLC, once the DJs are through. Could be as soon as August/September

I'm not too thrilled about the remix adversary  modes. Instead the adversary modes should've been a dance off. 3 couples dance to a rhythm game. The couples dance off  on the dance floor white the crowd is split up on two sides to make room on the dance floor. The most coordinated couple with The highest points wins along with bonus to added to any couple for being the most coordinated. It will be a best out  4 rounds.  Next is marathon dance competition like in those sitcoms where couples dance untill they can't dance no more and the last couple standing wins. Marathon duration would  be for 15-20 minutes of dancing and there would be a stamina meter which depletes if a dancers loose coordination. This mode would have  5 couples. There's no dress codes for these modes players can choose to where dlc outfits or clothes from their personal list including mask.

I was disappointed that there was not a minigame dance like TBOGT.

Only to stand there pushing X or square is really boring.

Surprised we didn’t get IV Turismo and/or Super GT, they would’ve been a great fit. I’d also like more customization and more mini games.. and more clothes+accessories.

This is a classic example of just requesting sh*t because, why not more?  Do you realize they would have had to alter the map including messing with the original code to add helipads to at least some of the club locations (yes there are a few suitable buildings with pads already but not enough)?  And why would a club have a helipad?  The next club I go to that has one will be the first one.  That is to say, clubs don’t typically have them.

Can only reiterate what has been said already.

More interior customisation options.

Helipad and lift to the roof.

PV request option from the check in clerk.

Dance mini game/impromptu dance off challenge.

Option to have Lazlow as DJ with music from the radio station of your choice playing.

Custom club names.

I'm really surprised we can't snort a line of coke in the bathrooms to be honest. Colour me disappointed in that... we can drink booze but we can't do drugs. Crazy.

Rockstar Games are obviously replicating the real world too much (hur hur, and then create something known as the Oppressor Mk.2... f*ck my life).

I tought it too, maybe every DJ will bring more money with the popularity to arrive even at 20k, but 200k gifted every 5 hours would be too good to be true.

Maybe a higher bonus for special orders or faster product growing in the warehouse.

Last thing, I just hope that vehicles such as Ruiner, Futo and so on won't count as "regular" dripfeedes vehicles...

Open clubs, a huge whiff in my opinion.  This was a chance to add more realistic places in the game.  We already have access to tequilala and the lost mc club, cockatoos and bahama mamas shouldve have been opened for a mission.  Hell, they could of thrown us a bone and given just one and people would have been pleased.  Sure there would be the standard complainers but this was almost like if they dont do it here, they will never do it.

R* is never gonna open those clubs.  Shame.

This is a classic example of people not understanding what "messing with the old code" rly means. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about... like always

And why would club need a helipad?
- So you can call helis?
- Cause clubs and Terrorbyte basically replaced ceo office (at least for me)
- Entrance for VIPs.
- So I don't have to land my helis on the street
- Just as you said. Why not?

and btw - learn to edit posts

Excellent thread!

Particularly what you send about adding mini games like pool, table tennis, arcade games, and hell even arm wrestling. Clubs would be the only location in the game where players could play aka battle competitively each other for GTA$ by achieving the highest score in the arcade game. Money directly posted to your bank account. Payouts $1k -say $5k based on level of complexity, difficulty & time it took player to beat the game.

Add more immersive club mini game money making activity. With team tournament games, have 1-2 ppl per team to do pool or table tennis tournament. I swear these props are the WORST addition to the game. They don't do a damned thing and like volley ball court, are virtually indestructible. Allow players to compete solo or in teams of in teams of 2 for real cash flow. Like $50k as an alternative to completing the daily challenge. But add a 24hr  cool down so players can't abuse this by grinding like they always do.

Add more immersive club mini game money making activity. Let players do DJ battles with likes vs. celeb DJs (or more realistically v. other players). Perhaps a new skill like creativity?

Add more immersive club mini game money making activity.  How about Rap Battles v. Other players? Literally your PC would be lip synching to what you have to say. The more your club attracts other players & NPCs, the more money you the player would make in 1-2 game hours max. This would also add to the club popularity success

Add more immersive scenarios. Club mini game missions. Add lap dancing. Why should the strip club be the only joint that has this? But charge NPCs (as players won't pay btw) to use the service. Like at $500 to $1k per lap dance

Add more immersive objects. Add other immersive things like a jacuzzi tub which both NPCs and players could use. But give players added benefit of being able to wash the blood/dirt of clothes since the club lacks a shower facility. Tub holds up to 6? or so players can relax. And get a stripper lap dance while in the tub. This should also restore player health slowly btw 😅

Add more immersive objects. Add other immersive things like a sauna that works similar to hot tub. Restore player health and makes them clean when players sit down inside the sauna. This is also a good way to lose a wanted level at same time BTW. Unless the club you enter (not necessarily yours so you can't see the club rating) is so unpopular that the probability of it being raided by law enforcement is high...........

Add an official Prostitution upgrade to the Clubs. The flipping club is big enough to add a pimping business line which you launder prostitution as a Turkish bath/Spa category. Add more immersive content for DLC like this. Like make club restroom even more interactive.  Allow players to hire & pimp 1-5 HOOKERS from the street. These NPCs can also be male NPCs why limit your clientele income after all? Use them as personal masseurs & high call hookers. Have them use the rest room (better yet a new, upgraded whore house bedroom area in your very BIG club if you can afford to top end scale upgrade). Launder the money they make from their NPC (and Player) Johns as a new Turkish Bath/Spa & Health category on the WH computer. 😁 Make $5k per trick your hookers turn. Charge a base $500 fee per NPC fee to access/use each of your spa, massage, and/or jaccuzi services. Charge $10/hr for time spent using these services

Add more immersive objects. Like FOOD available only from the bar . Food like chicken wings, pretzels, popcorn (cheap club interior & dancer costume), hamburger, onion rings etc (mid scale interior & dancer costume) and $500+ shrimp cocktail or h'or devors (most expensive club house interior & dancer costume). Put some cheaper food around club like popcorn & pretzels for NPCs to animate eating. Every time an NPC does a food eat animation, that's a $1 increase to the club profits.

Add more immersive objects. Like a greater variety of club drinks around the club which your character can interact with. Like at least all the drinks that your PC can drink in their CEO office (health juice, rum, wine gin etc etc.) ADD HEALTH JUICE SHOTS TO THE BAR FFS. Add more drinks like scotch and cold caffeinated drinks like iced Kahlua & vodka, mudslides etc). Add these to the bar and charge NPCs for this. Add existing alcohol drinks in game around the main club dance floor (not including the bar area).  Make all drinking activity animations increase health. Could come in handy if you're running from a wanted level and duck into a players nightclub.

Add more immersive objects. Like more bongs, rolled joints in cigarette trays, cocaine piles, molly pills to discrete corners of the club. Put them near the existing specific parts of your club where alcohol bottles and cigarette trays are located. Give players & NPCs alike ability to get high.

Add more immersive objects. Bathroom mini game activities. Also add the drug content to that health hazard called the club's Water Closet aka the WC aka that ultra funky bathroom of yours.

Add more immersive objects. Bathroom mini game activities. If a NPC fight breaks out in the bathroom over drugs, sex whatever, use the toilets as a water torture device for breaking up club fights. Add a player (or security guard) animation that lets you DUNK the offending NPC head into the toilet. If you hold them there too long, allow it to kill/drown them. At which point, you get a wanted level and/or your club could be invaded by the cops if 1-2 star. And by the FIB if 3-4. And SWAT if 4+ stars. This would cause you to lose income and possibly WH product if SWAT or FIB raid you.

Add more immersive objects. Make club restroom even more interactive. Lets you, NPCs, or other players take NPCs there for quick sex jobs (where screen fades to black when you enter & close a stall). Then after 5 game mins or so, screen returns to normal. And your character is $100+ richer. Maxed stamina/strength stat could give you $500 per NPC with a 1-2 hr club cool down. The more stamina/strength your PC has, the longer the screen blackout, the more statisfied the NPC, and the more $$$$ they'll make. Also DON'T discriminate with NPCs. Why should your PC not be bisexual (translation so they can ho more $$$ from both sexes?) Just saying running the club biz (while away from your other biz) is NOT cheap......

Add more immersive objects. Allow players to stock their inventory with other alcohol beverages they get from the bar besides beer FFS. Like gin, rum, health juice etc. Limit this ability only to the bar keeper and not from around the club. Drinking beer etc. at tables around the club only repairs your health.

Add more immersive objects. Now how is it we get charged for cleaning fees, but the club restroom always looks like a toxic hazard? Are you the cheap type? Love micromanaging your business ventures in the weeds? Or just a conscientious biz owner who wants to save some money on facility cleaning bills? Well you should be able to do so by MOPPING & CLEANING UP THAT NASTY ASS BATHROOM OF YOURS. You know, with the exact same SP animations that Micheal used on one of the heist missions when he posed as a janitor. This should save you the $1k+ cleaning facility bill if you're that strapped and struggling for cash

Add more immersive scenarios. Club mini game missions. Use the worthless club security guards to break up club fights. Put you and/or your body guards to use by letting NPC fights break out in the club on a random chance. Let you and/or your club security be able to grab and throw NPCs out. If you succeed in throwing out the offending NPC brawlers in 2-4 club mins, then you get a free club popularity boost (and/or a small cash award like $100). If you fail, then club popularity drops and/or this could be serious enough to trigger a police response to public disturbance. If police respond, then it WILL turn into a full raid where NPCs get arrested. Player gets knocked out and awakens at police station. Player will have to pay a fine a police station (say $1k to $5k based on seriousness of the bar brawl) to allow their clubs to resume operation.

Add more immersive scenarios. Club mini game missions. BRING BACK THE TAXI DRIVER MISSIONS DAMIT! Add a club service that charges NPCs an Uber/Lyft service to safely transport them back to their homes in LS. After all, they're completely wasted. So WTF shouldn't you the club owner make profit from that? You can either drive them or have them be driven by a NPC employee.

  • If you drive, then as club manager, you need to get a list of NPCs who ordered the service from the employee charging cover at the entry desk. Goto the customer boarding point and enter the bus  to trigger the mini game mission. This is similar to the SP Hollywood tour bus, but this is one of the club vehicles (aka the drip feed Party Bus with skull head). OR, you could upgrade /trade in one of the existing buses and mod this for your night club. Next drive each customer to their destination within a 30 min time. Make $500 per customer say up to 10 customers for $5k profit delivery run. Cool down for that nightclub side mission is once per 8 game hours for 3X per day (to stop players grinding & abusing this feature).
  • If NPC is driving, then you get the NPC list from same employee. But carry this list to the blue activation circle to trigger a cut scene where you watch as your character give your NPC driver the clipboard list. Then scene shows NPC customers boarding the club bus. Does a short cut scene of last customer getting in and bus driving off. End cut scene and return control to player who is free to return doing whatever they want. Cool down same as before.

Add more immersive club mini game money making activity. Actually put that useless entry space with that lazy NPC charging cover to use. Make NPCs store their coats behind the desk in that area and charge them for coat retrieval service. Then give you the owner a random probability of successfully stealing from NPC customers who store their coats there. Say a 5% chance to make $1k to 25% chance to make $100 off NPC customers. But limit the availability of this opportunity to the player's club at 95% or higher in popularity

too much lost opportunity with this DLC IMO

I would have made what I (ANd many others) THOUGHT this was gonna be:

Make 'delivery' from the mc business and bunker have an '2nd option' when selling, stock nightclub. IE: you ship your product to your nightclub, then you sell it there (And sell more/faster depending how 'full' or popular your nc is)

For weapons I would like to see 'car stoppers' type deals (IE electronic weapons that disable most car engines, for a short time) , stun guns, knock out gas, etc more non lethal weaponry that can adjust (and outright change) the way battlefields work.

Where are all the 'Look at me, I'm a rich douchebag' cars? On the street too? I mean we can't sell them anyways, but afaik the only supercars u can see npc's 'owning' are the bullet, the infernous(Sp?) and the weird electric one. Why can't THEY get some of the otehr cars just to see more (No I'm not asking for 90% of the cars to be supers, but I would like to see 5% of them as supers/expensive cars, and would also like to see more of whats actually in game just driving about) And we need more buyable expensive cars. Its a damn NIGHTLIFE/High rollers update, the whole idea is to get celebrity twitter whores who have more cash than sense, to come to our party spots so their followers come too.

I love the nightclubs and the way they are. the npc's the Dj's, Toni.

The downfall is the lack of civilian cars. :/

The Rx7, a Honda nsx, some muscle cars, classics, cool upgrades on some existing vehicles in game like the Gauntlet, Vigero and others would give much more hype to the update

Would’ve loved being able to actually merge the businesses together with the nightclubs. Like instead of just just the bland storage levels you’ll have dedicated ones that act as MC businesses, like one level that processes cocaine, the other creates counterfeit cash, etc. You could launch and store CEO Special Cargo from the Club computer, and you could source vehicles (but you’d have to bring them to your I/E garage)

And all the supplies would be paid through from the money made by the Nightclub, and you could have a dealer or two in the club that moves the drugs, but for petty cash not for millions.

But no, that would make the players wayyy to much money and Rockstar needs to sell those shark cards..

Why are people whining about the music in the clubs? We (or I at least) waited 5 years for decent dance music and loads of people are going: " Urgh. There's not enough 80s or punk rock..." It's a nightclub update, not a student bar update. Most other forms of music have been well-served so far. Now it's the club-heads' turn.

Promotion:

I would make Popularity a little more grindy. Basically require 2 Club missions per hour to keep it topped off, but up the reward to 50k an hour maxing at 350K.

Missions:

Make a vip mission for dancing in any club(yours or someone else's in the game) and have it pay out consistent with other VIP missions. Add in bonuses for other players dancing in your club to that as well. VIP's make clubs better so add in a popularity tick as well.

Business Consolidation:

Let us source I/E Vehicles from the Nightclub Computer and use another floor to transfer over our I/E vehicle warehouse.

Combine CEO/ MC/ and VIP into one thing (no more registering up and retiring) and let us buy supplies/run missions for all businesses on the nightclub computer.

Mini Games:

Drinking Mini game. Beer pong maybe?

Put a pool table/video game section in another area similar to the bars in San Andreas

Vehicles stuff:

Let us transfer our garage space from our offices to the nightclub (trade in) and give us 5-6 more floors than it currently holds.

Put a special bay in the Delivery vehicle workshop to modify Normal/Benny's cars as an upgrade.

Helicopter pad on the roof of every nightclub.

Space to park the MOC in the garage.

Other stuff:

Give us the new club clothes the NPC get.

Give us some new hair styles (AFRO!)

Chose the Genre of music for the Club. Let us choose to instead create a Punk Rock Club, a Metalhead Club, a Hip Hop Club, Country Western Club, etc. They won't require DJ's but maybe have a LS local band be the house entertainment. Love Fist?

1 Actual club management. Deciding what to sell at your club. Setting prices for drinks and the door for npcs. Trying to find and manage a balance for popularity rather than missions alone.

2 Special events. Mini "heists" where you have to go through a small series of missions to try and set up a special event. Maybe trying to get Madd Dogg or somebody to show up and do a set at your club.

3 Deciding on letting in or keeping out local drug dealers and criminals (this could lead to new missions by way of association or new enemies by disallowing them in or siding with one gangs enemies) Drug dealers let in would be a way of generating money for the club as you would take a percentage but it would also attract a more criminal element to the club. Requiring more security and better balancing of your club. Keeping this in check would keep customers in the club. Letting it get out of hand would scare them away.

4 Reputation. Change popularity to club reputation. No bars is a dive bar, 5 bars is a Slammin'. 6 Bars is legendary. The more bars you have the more access you have to better missions, higher class customers and the ability to charge more.
