Who wants to start a petition to After Hours-up the poor, neglected yatch?

I think most would agree that yachts - excuse me, yatches are boring wastelands that cost too much relative to what you can do with them.  The customization options are sweet, but once you've bought it, the complete list of things to do is as follows: 1. Piracy Prevention (admittedly a good perk); 2. spawn point in the ocean; 3. sit in the hot tub; 4. have a drink in the empty bar; 5. uh, lean against a railing.  If you don't play with a bunch of friends who might come hang out on it, it almost immediately feels like a waste of cash.

To me, nightclubs have shown the way yachts could have been.  Here are my thoughts for immediate improvements to the old girls:

A. Add an interaction menu option to put random party NPCs on your yacht. They'd be on deck and in the bar - hanging out, drinking, and dancing if music is playing.  They'd only have to clear out (dive overboard, which would be hilarious) if you start Piracy Prevention or get attacked.  Speaking of which...

B. Let us pay for an upgraded sound system addition that lets you stream the music from your club to play loudly all over the yacht in place of that little boombox.  And add the dance functions to the yacht.  Have NPCs dancing, and let us dance.  Maybe even add a synchronized light array somewhere.

C. Let us pay for a security detail similar to the security and bouncers in the clubs - but better, because you're able to be attacked.  They'd defend against attackers with typical NPC precision, and if you turn on yacht defenses (to disable weapons), then give an interaction menu option to throw off anyone on board that you want to, with an animation similar to the "getting bounced" animation in the club.

D. Add the special drinks the nightclub bar has to the yacht bar.

Most of this could be recycled from work they already did on the nightclubs - so why not?

There's a lot of existing content that could do with some quality of life improvements, but R* doesn't do it.

I have been waiting for 2 years and counting now, to remove the money/clutter from my CEO office. It cannot be that hard, but there is no desire on R*'s part.

I doubt they'll touch the yachts, sadly.

@Pocket Fox - Probably true - the only reason I think they might want to add features to the yacht specifically is that people generally know how boring and underused they are, so they're probably selling less of them these days.  But they're still big ticket items - the kind of thing that drives shark card sales.  So maybe they'd consider dressing them up just to boost how many newer players buy them.  Maybe they'd even sell some to players that ignored them in the first place.

That should be part of it too, I'll add that.  No reason not to have the same array of liquor you have in the club, maybe minus the ridiculous 150K champagne.

I'd love my yacht to become more and more, absolutely.

But I do feel, after R* have shown twice now that they hear complaints. (The reduction of insurance fees and the Jester). I feel a petition to see BS points and insurance bills removed from public sessions on consoles, especially on weaponised/armoured vehicles.

Tempted to go for EWO and passive cooldowns too.

And then there's the phone calls/texts that persist to annoy players if they opt out of buying something.

As much as I believe we should even have lobby choice. I feel the issues I highlighted here are key areas that must be addressed. They hamper all playstyles and can even compromise players playing a legitimate, fair game. Even goes as far as to potentially cost IRL money if a player buys cash only to be fined for defending their business they got with their starter packs.

Must add though, happily support ya here @Nutdusterthough. :)

Some very poor autospelling there, lol.

I just hope R* learns the lessons from GTAO (GTAV) and makes changes in the next GTAO game.

To be honest, just the word "petition" probably turns people off after how much I went on about helicopters in the old days. The idea is sound though, and the points true. Personally I kind of like having the yacht all to myself, though I would like the option to have people thrown off.

Lately they did do a small update to the yacht's defense system - now it can shoot down Deluxos, etc. instead of just aircraft.

Makes me glad I didn't buy a yacht. It would have been nice if they just made these things a part of the club. Putting a discount on them.

Hopefully we can actually drive them in the next game or I'll pass on it again.

It would be a nice little profit to set up shop for a bus that would take the a.i back and forth from the club to the party yacht also. The more to do the better.

Another thing rockstar could have done is actually let players operate the DJ booth on top of the festival bus regardless of if someone else is driving it or if it's sitting still.

Would be funny if the music would make A.I out on the street start dancing when you come by with it blasting.

Could stop and hold a little party in public.

R* have already admitted they wont go back and change old stuff, its too hard with the way that Online is built and leads to too many issues.

Rockstar themselves have not said that.  A leaker who supposedly worked for them (and I admit, probably did) said it.  Anyway, adding these kinds of features to the yacht, which has little to no interactivity with any other game features, would not be a big deal.  I understand why they are loathe to touch things that interact with lots of other game mechanics, e.g. passive mode, but adding features to the yacht is simply a question of whether they actually want to bother or not.

Fair enough but I go back to what I said a few days ago.

How does this sell Shark Cards? Unless you ant to pay for all this?

Mind you, I don't think they're actually going to do this, or that player demand would ever be high enough to make them really consider it.  But it would be a nice quality-of-life improvement for something I paid 7 million or so for, so here we are.

I think this is a great idea. R* could indeed milk the sh*t out of something like this if they wanted to also...

I agree 100%.  If I recall correctly, in MASS Effect 3 you could send out party invites, have a party at your crib and interact with other characters.  They really need to do more with the yacht especially for the amount of money you pay for it.  I think you could tie in the club to the yacht by having a special party or after party from the nightclub to the yacht.  Maybe add a small casino area to it as well.  Add a water slide, a foam machine, lights, fireworks show etc......

But yes, clubify my yacht! 😎 🎉

Yes to everything. I dont like petitions (though I have signed a few) so my angle would be a full nautical/aquatic update that either adds yacht upgrades or an entirely new yacht all together. It would be submersible, party capable, and include a boat/sub customization area. Also, water canons like the rcv that can sink incoming watercraft. Maybe a "party barge" like our party bus.l

If we petition anything, it should be a "no more jackets, we have enough" petition

maybe it is just me, but is not 90% or so of the things released in the game neglected by the majority of the players once the newness has worn off?

They should let us at least resupply our businesses from the yacht laptop. Nope. Yacht is only a safehouse on water that happens to be just a status symbol.

The only reason I suggest a petition is to try to get Rockstar's attention. I don't think they actually cave in based on the number of signatures or anything. It beats throwing a ticket into the black hole that is their support department.

Trouble is, as much as yachts have been neglected, there's other stuff that's still just ...flat-out non-existent.

Considering we're getting slim pickings these days as it is, I'd at least like them to put all their effort into 'filling in the blanks' (like how we don't even have the Lost Slamvan yet, let alone something like a classic Challenger or what-have-you, but ...sure, a second Oppressor makes sense... :sui:).

That, and R*'s track record for going back to older content and f***ing it up in the process is not exactly great... :/

Couldn't agree with you more Nutduster, they wouldn't even have to create new assets just reuse the existing ones!

Hope you're well 😁

Quite a few issues with an otherwise noble concept

1). Rcokstar never revisit content or add to it, the most they will do is tweak it to sort any quick money making glitches. EVERY new DLC Bunkers, Facility, Hangers, Garages, Ceo Buildings and Night Clubs, once the dripfeed is done so is Rcokstar's interest in it.

2). This game has so many issues and problems that Rcokstar should be fixing these long before adding new content, ANY new content in fact but fixing problems is lower on the list than harmonising all the DLC we have had so that it all seems to work as one massive business rather than several separate businesses being run by a single over worked gimp (i.e the player)

3). Do we really need this for the yacht. I get that as a role play local it would be nice and maybe with some tweaks it could be linked to your club to help promote and improve the pathetic income but really it's safe to say the yacht is by far and away the most expensive and biggest mistake of most players GTAO career and serves little if any purposes, I don't even use it as a location for cover from jet griefers any more it is the most pointless addition to GTAO by far. Long before adding Nightclub content to it I would prefer Rcokstar gave us the ability to sell it because mine would be gone within seconds of logging in.

Yup, and that's what gets me to sign them sometimes, awareness.
