So I've heard the guy in the bathroom yell "Kifflom!" and I went back and stood there and tipped him a 100$+ until I heard him yell "Go for it!!" so I went up to the VIP area, waited till it was 4:20 on my phone, took a hit from the joint and went to harass tony a bit, I waited till he said "Go rub off on someone else" 3 times then I went to the bottom bar, talked to the two bartenders but didn't order anything, went to the upstairs bar, went behind the counter, went to serve a drink mode, went back and ordered a McBeth. The screen went black and I woke up outside of my club and I still don't have the damn shirt!

People putting up with something annoying or boring just because they want the dangling carrot is not "tried and true."  Just another example of developers getting away with not thinking of a truly creative and rewarding solution.

Keep trying, guys.  I unlocked it yesterday evening.  I would try for a couple times, and do something else like a HH or nightclub mission.  Then came back to the club, and got it the second try.

Yes it is.  Pretty much every Asian RPG going back to cartridge games used this mechanic and virtually every MMORPG has used it. 

There really isn't much else by way of luck/RNG based rewards in GTAO and this is one of the few things that they don't just offer to anybody who can shell out in-game money/buy cash cards.  I'm OK with it.  The best thing is you don't need it for anything, it gives you no edge in the game; it's just something fun and silly to show off that you're either lucky or persistent, or both. 

 

Mind you I'd probably be singing a different tune if I were over 100 tries into this.

I did 388 throws of the dice on my alt char and I can almost guarantee I spent less time on it than I did hunting for cars in previous GTAs.

I have definitely done this less than I hunted in Oregon Trail, even though I couldn't carry all that buffalo.  Hopalong has died of Cirrhosis.

Most likely just a glitch, and probably not a permanent one.  The logos on most clothes are like decals that get overlaid on the garment, and they've been glitchy since the game first came out.

I got this shirt after about 10-15 tries passing out drinking Macbeth whiskey. Right before the attempt that got me the shirt, I woke up in the bathroom, the attendant said "kifflom", i tipped him a dollar just in case, went upstairs drank whiskey and woke up on top of the kifflom building with the shirt. Not sure if the attendant saying "kifflom" right before or me tipping him had anything to do with it or if it was just coincidental.

I think we've established this is coincidence.   He says kifflom about one in three times you pass by him and there seems to be no pattern in tipping.  It's almost certainly pure random number generation.
