THE AFTER HOURS APPRECIATION THREAD

 

I looked around and couldn't find anything similar so here goes. This a thread where you can praise what the After Hours update has provided. Whether its something minor or considerable, let it out! Remember its an appretiation thread, so keep negativity out (or at least a bare minimum). Someone else is free to do the opposite of this thread if they wish

 

There's really not much else to say, so:

 

I really appreciate the fact that there are loads of dance moves and they allowed Club Promoting in Invite Only sessions

i am pleasantly surprised after my first day of playing with this dlc. while the dripfeed reaches a new high, despite the relatively short list of new cars, the club did indeed meet and surpass expectations. first impressions of the business consolidation is also very good, even tho i had to shell out another few millions on a couple of more biker businesses. i had a great time driving to and from my la mesa club with my windsors, and the immersion felt awesome. driving past the queue back to the service entrance for a quick step into the office, or just plain queuejumping into the club and testing out the entertaining dance mechanics.

 

all in all i've had a good day, and even the setbacks with the dripfeed list didn't pull me down noticeably.

 

a small mention to the three new storage trucks - had a good and proper time modifying them.

 

i must admit i didn't buy the patriot stretch yet, about the only thing i didn't buy and max out yet. looking forward to loafing around with the night club in the future, cos it seems to be both lone wolf friendy and fun. and immersive! a very good 50/50/50 split between the three!

I like the fact that we only use one delivery vehicle for selling missions. 

 

Honestly this is the most passive income DLC ever. The technicians never have to be resupplied, and you can choose which cargo you want to sell. The nightclub management is really easy and it’s fast to regain  popularity.

 

Haven’t seen the Business Battles or w/e it’s called yet, but it sounds doooope.

 

Contrary to how others dislike the drip feeding of DJs, I think it’s a great idea. Really makes you know which DJ is which and not some nameless NPC. And it makes sense too, like I doubt DJs will be lining out the door to play for a club that just opened.

 

all in all, good so far. a little disappointed on how slow it takes to acquire cargo, but at least now I always have a steady source of income without me actually having to do anything

I initially had my doubts, as nightclubs isn't really my thing (more of a secretive, underground, militant-style criminal boss), but I'm really pleased!  

 

Having the nightclub act as a front for all my criminal businesses is great, and for once I do feel like a boss by assigning technicians to do the grind-work, and having the nightclub generate daily cash, actual proper passive income, is a nice bonus!  Plus, the simple promote mission is quick and even pays you $3k which is a nice surprise!

 

Another great thing is that LJT no longer calls me, YES!!!  So worth it!  

 

Love the nightclub and its features.  Bought all 5x levels of the storage rooms straight away for my businesses as that's my focus (didn't bother with extra garage space).  My plan is to assign techies to the businesses, but I'll still buy the bunker resupplies and do the sales seperate to the nightclub.  For once it's great to feel in charge, and I feel like I'm actually making money a bit easier now.  It's early days as I haven't yet done a sale from the nightclubs, but I'm hoping it will all go smoothly!

The most positive thing I can say I guess is they added more garage space.

They changed the Jester Classic to make it look less sub-par.

The Swinger is a pretty fun and decent-looking car.

I appreciate them going back and adding liveries to older cars.

Of course, all of those have negatives too. But that's for another thread.

 

I can imagine this thread staying pretty empty for a while...

That is all. I like the club, too. And I ESPECIALLY like that we finally get a passive income property. It won't be making alot of money, but at least it'll generate some income without your input required.

Well the club is nice, additional garagespace is always welcome, the jester classic has been fixed, we are getting an A10 and the prices are pretty decent.

So far I am happy with what we got.

 

Excluding the sh*ttybike mk2 and the dripfeed of course.

I love my club and its location, definitely gonna enjoy that for a while especially when I just wanna chill and watch some lights and listen to music. They surpassed my exprctations there.

I guess I can appreciate that anything they gave us outside of clubs is better than nothing, and the Rolls really is gorgeous. But...

I uh... I appreciate the fact that I got to buy and use the Jester Classic now, as opposed to having to wait for it for the next 3-10 months. It feels nice.

 

And I suppose the Patriot Stretch, too, being a PV? That's nice too. A purchasable Limo.

I like it!

 

Cons:

-The lack of regular cars, or even bikes added, including the drip feed. (Not counting those cars we can already steal coming of course, got what I want of those long ago. Hey, I'm a thief after all, lol).

-The stupid things I feel are just not for me, lol. (Oppressor II, Drones, yeah, forget that crap. Might get it all one day, but like a Deluxo, just for 5 minutes of fun. All avoidable to me though).

-DJ's being drip fed, the lack of being able to name the club ourselves is poor too. The variety will come, but to wait longer than 'my gaming limits' does suck a bit, lol.

-Hoping to see more positive vibes towards clothing, and tattoos/haircuts etc. Could have been far better, we know they can.

-Public only sales. (But it looks manageable, we'll see here. Can see positive in knowing I'm using one truck/van).

-Insurance fees/BS points still exist. (Didn't anticipate change here though).

-Calls/alerts to tell sessions what I'm up to. (Again, didn't expect anything less, lol).

-(Probably) Persistent calls saying 'Buy it now' (Something I just don't suffer from myself mind, and again, expected).

 

 

The last 4 negative points here I can't knock points off a business DLC I feel as that's the norm. But they could have damn sure added some of course, lol. Shame, but with the pro's in mind below, mostly not an issue for me.

 

Pro's:

-Solo sessions still work. Don't care that some think it's for pussies or boring. I'm enjoying my game, and I love it.

-Good garage spaces made available. This was priority number one really and 10 just wouldn't have been enough, lol. They very much delivered here for me. (More so in that we didn't get flooded with cars. I'll be careful not to over do it again though, lol).

-The Nightclub/interiors. Stunning really, always find this game/businesses looked so good when the game is up and running.

-Can promote our clubs in invite sessions.

-Time progress made in regards to the $10k popularity pay is remembered between sessions. Twice today after finishing a mission, I returned to my invite, and the $10k popped up very shortly after. That's great!

-Can do these battle royale things in invites too. with or against friends or respectful rivals. GG. (Truly was expected this part to be in the 'con's' list, lol).

-Can make more cash from existing businesses I own just because. Meh, had 'em anyway. Sweet.

-Awards, not a lot. But it's something that'll see me get pissed and boogie all week, lol.

-Jester and Swinger are fine additions to my collection. (Believe the Stafford will too).

-Mamba livery, and the Futo/Ruiner, and more older cars getting new liveries and attention. (More of this please!).

-Dancing galore. (Seems very sociable to me).

-Good music. (Not for all, and feel for any metalhead going into this, lol).

-Enjoy the main GTA characters, Lazlow makes me wanna slap him about, lol. Love Tony returning, and English Dave is funny to me.

-San Andreas vibes collecting cash from that safe, lol.

-A new treasure hunt to come. Huge RDR fan here, lol.

-Far cheaper than expected. I know $5m is a lot to many. But for loads of us it really isn't, especially after the recent wave of 2x. I was expecting far more damage to my bank, lol.

-Vans/trucks we can upgrade/tune and deliver with. I've been keen to have a trucking business, lol. Getting there, and I do love trucks to tune etc. Easy win here.

 

-The hype and great conversation here leading up to this too. Regardless of what we got or what didn't come etc. From the fun of the odd numpty throwing in some dynamite into threads, to the talk of music shared here. That's been awesome to read. Forum gold!

 

I think this will compliment my game very much here. All my other businesses are just the same as before, and to have expected these to become available fully in invite sessions etc. is a long shot at best I feel. But this is most definitely an improvement on the usual for me. And of course, all the stuff I can do solo/in peace, folk can still do in public sessions just the same if they want. Sweet.

 

Just feels like I can't lose, even if I got blown up selling. I'm having fun, and form the business side of things, it's all just free/bonus cash. I don't just like this DLC. I think it's the best business for me. (I/E is awesome, and respect to the others making me rich. But they got boring quicker than this will, I'm sure of that).

 

We'll see though, I'll return in a month and see if I still agree with this.

I must say I'm pleasantly surprised with the nightclub, mostly because the missions are able to be done in Friends Only, Invite Only and Solo sessions. thumbs up for that. And letting you do all the businesses from the nightclub PC is something they should make possible at all your businesses too. The extra parking spaces have no value for me, as I only use 1 car and store 3 others. 

it's an easy way to generate some cash too.

i think this is an okay. i like being able to have nightclubs. and i loved the setup missions except the party bus one. but the follow the plane was funny. i love my jester classic. the clothes are pretty nice. its a pretty good dlc.

The best things I can say about this update are that the club interiors are nice, more garage space is always welcome and the passive income is nice too.

Had a buddy invite me over, it wasn't until the 3rd job (My 1st promo job), that I realised I was in an invite, lol. I kept tapping down on D-pad in case other joined what I thought was a peaceful public. I was just like 'well, sh*t! Alright' Been a blissful session since.

 

Just got better when 2 crates in the battle royale popped up. We took one each and actually had to go inside the main entrance of the Kortez Centre too. (If I spelled that right - Had cops/security there too).

I discovered when I was doing my first management mission and noticed the radar blip activated, while I was absolutely sure I was in an Invite Only session. I stopped, checked and double checked and felt good

Tried doing them in Friends Only and Solo too. All worked fine. You only need to be in a Pubic session for your other businesses. The missions are easy and poster locations change, so it won't all feel the same too quick, me thinks. For a lone wolf like me, yeah, this is fun. 

 

I had a bit of trouble finding the wall safe, but after opening the area map I noticed the doillar sign.

I scouted the areas before buying too. I have Maze West and a house at Del Perro and almost bought the Del Perro club, but it is actually very close to the Vespucci Canal one too. That bit of distance didn’t justify the 300k for me xD. Interiors are the same anyway.

I'm eyeing the Downtown Vinewood one & the Vespucci one. Vespucci is very popular (almost 2 in every session I joined) & very close to my White Widow warhorse & Bay Ave apartment. I like the DV one, but it took forever to find one & the dude the enterance set to restricted. I wanna know where the garage door is lol (on the exterior)
