Oppressor v2.0 Appreciation

I have to say, for the time being with it's speed glitch it's my new favourite ride... Killed one Deluxo as he was flying past with the missiles and knocked another passive jumper off theirs with some good old fashioned lock-on with the Combat MG Mk.2.

I also saw this posted in metoxy's discord (hope it's okay to post here) and this is just... priceless.

EDIT - in case anyone's wondering about the missile tracking... they're better than standard Oppressor missiles, but not quite on par with Ruiner 2K style missiles - so they can miss occasionally and won't fly around in circles close to their target just to hit it, but they're better than "the standard".

Arrows to Athens

Perfect for sourcing missions that require you to go to sea.

I'd rather use the Deluxo for those. It can't nose dive into the water. The MkII cost me 10K insurrance for this joke already

Really? I've never had any issues. I just make sure that I don't push forward on the left stick to prevent it from being sunk.

No Use For A Name

After giving it a chance, I like it better than I thought. The flying is much better than the Deluxo, and the boost issue doesn’t really bother me. Glides over terrain pretty well.

What’s the best way to counter them? So far, Lazer cannons seem to work the best.

Yeah I was going to post this discovery, but this dude just took it to another level. Awesome.

The cannon is fun as f*ck, yo! It requires a bit of planning to kill players on foot and what basically amounts to a ramming technique against cars. Happy trolling. I earned a couple orbital strikes with it.

Yeah, lol. First time I tried it out on water. Hovered off of my yacht and went in like I do with my Deluxo. Blub blub blub.....

Just came from a full day a of trying to take this things out and they're extremely difficult to beat. And I tried nearly all methods. Few succeeded and alot failed.

Mk1 Oppressor Missed all day. Try it hit one head on but hit air

Hunter: Hit Air Died a bunch of times

Savage: Died a bunch of times of again but the screwed up hitbox of the Savage gained me a couple of seconds of freedom

Buzzard: BUHAHAHAHA

Lazer or Hydra: Wayyy too small to hit. Got blown up a couple of times.

Pyro: Crashed a bunch of times because of it's intense speed and still got nothin

Starling: Got taken out once. Still hit nuthing

Akula: Suprisingly still nuthing. It seems all mk2 players have to do is slightly tilt and Missile goes right pass

Guns on foot: Took out like three guys who swooped down too low

Stromberg: Got one kill but everyone decided to tuck tail and run everytime they seen my Stromberg icon. And because the Stromberg doesn't have the manuverability as a flying Bike and a piss poor lock on range going otr didn't help

Ruiner Fl2K : Got the most kills by far

Deluxo: kept getting a bunch of give and take. I died he dies which doesn't help much

Terrobyte Missiles: didn't hit one. The tracking on these Missiles are god awful

Thruster: hit nothing

Ex Sniper: Hit nuthing. Too damn fast. Which upsets alot of tryhards because you always run into the guy who swears he can hit anything with an explosive sniper.

Haven't tried the chernobog or AA Trailer with homing battery.

But I'm quite sure they can both hit it but your a sitting target unless you got a team mate.

Seriously? What da f*ck was Rockstar thinking? They wasn't. They wasn't at all. This sh*t is very f*cking Op and JKGam3rs is gonna prove my point. I tried to warn you guys but you didn't want to believe me. Now you suffer the consequences.

I figured out how to descend quik-ish on this thing (sorry if this has already been mentioned elsewhere):

Go down forwards, go down in reverse, go down forwards, go down in reverse... It's a see-saw back and forth action.

Unlocked the trade price, upgraded it and did one Headhunter mission before hopping off for the night.

Disappointed in the amount of boost, but I'm sure it'll be a fun vehicle to mess around with, though.

Lol, anyone elses start to squeak when you put it in a turn, even at altitude, whilst holding the handbrake? May need to be a reversing turn.

Also - for real now - why did Rockstar bind the boost button to something we never had previously, instead of keeping it left stick click?

In my opinion, it should be left stick click = boost, A / X =  fire weapons and LB / L1 and RB / R1 for switching  / cycling targets like planes and helicopters can... in fact that's exactly the same as something like the Lazer except this doesn't have a landing gear to retract with LS, so win win. 🤷‍♂️

Crazy.

Yellow Dog with Cone

I'm the only one who thinks that this and the Deluxo would handle better if they worked in VTOL fashion, like the Hydra/Tula/Avenger?

Are the cannons powerful like a jet, or weak like a Rogue? Are the missiles Ruined 2000 level (genuinely asking anyone who really knows for sure). What is its movement like?

Got to be a weak point somewhere.

And finally? His missiles are like the Ruiner2000/Vigilante/Deluxo or like the other Oppressor ?  And how many, 20 or 30?

I like it so far, the tracking's great. It's nice having it in the Terrorbyte, I've used it as transport and when I got attacked in my Terrorbyte, I just went in the Oppressor MK2 and got the other MK2s with chaff, they can't do sh*t about it since they can't outrun it. I do wonder why the flares are so bad on the thing sometimes, but chaff ftw I guess.

To make sure you will crash when JJT calls you of course.

Divebomb with hydra/lazer. Oops, I thought we were talking about the Terrorbyte, I'm dumb... Sniper, minigun, any gun? People are quite vulnerable in these things.

20 missiles , seems like they are the same MkI missiles ....

like I said , I only had to counter one MkII Opp. so far and I managed to take him down with my stromberg (since then he stopped griefing/taking the whole lobby down and run away from me , then disconnected as I got closer to him ... )

other funny physics : if you take your finger off the "throttle" with the turbine (the back of the oppressor) pointed down while you´re getting closer to the ground , you´ll get an instant , pretty strong boost ! I ll try to make a short video if you didn ´t get what I mean ...

Originally wasn't planning on getting this thing but after reading the stories here, I'm gonna get one as soon as I get home tonight lol! Especially that smoke countermeasure thing. I was planning on putting this on anyway just for fun, but these funny stories seal the deal!

11 hours ago, FrozenDanCicle said:

The smoke trail is the best option I think.  Just a never ending trail behind you.  If you slow and halt it totally obscures you, then you hit the boost and fly out in a unexpected direction.  A friend used the black smoke and turned into this ominous little black storm cloud that he would burst out of and looked like a witch streaking down after his prey.  I'm switching to black smoke tomorrow, just too damn good.

Hahaha too funny! The witch comment makes me lol!

I don't own one, but everything points to Stromberg-style missiles. Almost as good as a Deluxo, will nearly always hit - but it is possible for them to miss, especially on a helicopter with a lowered hitbox like the Savage. Hunter - you really have to rely on not being locked on in the first place, staying above or below them, and using chaff when level. You get 20, I've been told.

Actually Happy, I have to disagree with you there. Not that Im the most experienced guy to talk about this, but I’ve noticed that the missiles seem to miss a lot if fired from the front (like when your enemy is coming towards you). And I noticed that with NPC helicopters. Very different from what you’d expect from Deluxo missiles which even circle the target before hitting them sometimes. I may be wrong of course, but I strongly believe these are regular missiles like the Buzzard’s.

This thing is very hard to counter. At least not by trading kills because the Missiles almost always hit the target. Only Reliable ways of dealing with them is the Stromberg or the FL2K.

Even the Jets are food for this thing because they are so incredibly small to hit

I did Trash Talk with this thing, which I normally do with a Deluxo. The Deluxo has missiles to spare at the end of the mission, because everything hits. Flipper misses a lot of shots, especially when npc's run towards it, even when locked. The missiles feel the same as those from the Buzzard.

With only 20 missiles the chance of running without is fairly certain in missions like these.

Missed a few shots doing Headhunter and ran out of missiles, before killing the final target.

Flipper is a hoot to use as transport, but replacing the Deluxo...., not by a long shot.

Mk.2 missiles are the same as Mk.1 missiles, but with improved tracking. They won't hit their target all the time but can sometimes make crazy changes in the angle just so it does. It's almost as if "there's a chance the missile will be great, there's a chance it'll be crap" sort of thing - a good balance in my book.

I just wish the Turret Station's Multi-Lock Missile Battery had the same sort of tracking. Anything better (like R2K or Chernobog missiles) and I think that would be a bit OP, but the Turret Station could do with a buff.
