Can you spawn something like a Nightshark (give it 100% armor) and test the gun against it?

edit: @GLTh3Pr0 that's kinda difficult in SP, since the AI lazers use cannons and missiles. And the armor is worse when noone is sitting in it, so the results might be different if I shoot an empty plane with missiles.

Crap, I tought that only applied to land vehicles.

The range might help take on other jets. So much of the time they just go straight at you - well, this is gonna hit them before they hit you.

The B-11 kills a 100% Nightshark in like... 1 second of sustained fire.

 

 

Test in SP:

 

Hunter with 100% Armor: 2 homing missiles

B-11 with 100% Armor: 6 homing missiles

Wait, is the Nightshark as durable as an Insurgent? If so, wow. Tanks are going to have something to really worry about.

Edit: also, this makes it the second most durable aircraft (right behind the Avenger), the rest of the fighters/bombers/gunships only take half of that amount of missiles!

Well damn, that's some real potential. Was the Nightshark occupied?

 

 

EDIT: Assuming that the Nightshark has 100% armored + Occupied bonus, some quick calculation with the fire rate you gave us suggests that the cannon does full RPG damage. (As opposed to Lazer/Hydra cannon that does homing missile damage)

 

Ironically, this means the B-11 kills tanks slightly slower than the old jets (since they take the same damage from RPGs and missiles, and the B-11 shoot slower), but will shred an occupied MOC cab in like 4 seconds.

 

 

More difficult, unnecsessary request in the name of SCIENCE!:

Can you uh... mod the B-11 cannon explosion onto a slow-firing weapon and test how many shots it takes to kill the same Nightshark? That will give the definitive answer.

Think this is going to give our Chernobogs a purpose. Which is a great thing, need more aircraft that don't just roll over to the explosive sniper.

neh, wasn't occupied.

 

But from direct testing I can say: it takes about 1/3 of the time it takes for the Lazer/Hydra ->DOUBLE-< cannon to destroy the vehicle.

 

Also more comparison:

Unoccupied, in SP,

Hunter takes 2 missiles

Rogue takes 3 missiles

B-11 takes 6 missiles

 

all with 100% armor

A thing I didn't know I wanted until I saw it.

 

Explosive shells should have been exclusive (among planes at least) to this though.

That would be great, if it did RPG damage it would be able to obliterate Insurgent, Half-Tracks and all the other very heavily armored vehicles.

Rogue: Explodes with 3rd ex sniper round

B-11: Explodes with 5th ex sniper round

5 explosive sniper rounds sounds a little small - but the rest sounds good, and that might change with stuff online enabled, etc.

 

Thanks for uncovering so much by the way, would've known barely anything otherwise.

@SkylineGTRFreak Later could you look into the new oppressors homing missile tracking? I want to know what I'm dealing with, with those. Really hoping they're not at the same level as Deluxo missiles that never miss. Also if that thing has a weak cannon or strong one. Only if you can and have time of course.

You're kidding right? It takes some effort and luck to land two single shots on the Hydra and Lazer, imagine having to hit this 5 times!

 

It will cost 1450 on ammo alone to down it, plus the insurance.

 

This thing will be too OP

not too mention that (imo) this might be harder to hit due to the thin fuselage

 

 

@Happy Hunter yes I will, currently trying to get it working ingame, buuuut I am afraid the handling won't really work on the last patch

Sentinel Driver

A must-buy when it comes out for sure

a beast, but relatively well balanced. Has good weapons and armor but lacks in the speed and agility department

I'm so f*cking mad that they have to dripfeed all the good stuff

Hitting a fighter with a heavy sniper is barely difficult on PC with the mouse free look, but I guess 6 is an OK amount. Leaves you enough time to take cover or lower the altitude and safely leave the area.

So if I'm seeing things right, it has:

 

-Hunter style rocket barrage with the reload speed of akula rocket barrage. 

 

-Homing rockets that have the same limitations as the hydra/lazer. 

 

-Bombs

 

-Cannon with a slower RoF and spin up time, but with greater range and much more damage. 

 

-More armor than any other aircraft except the Avenger. 

 

-Countermeasures 

 

-Slower air speed and not the best handling. 

 

 

All in all a true Close Air Support plane but it will be heavily disadvantaged against other jets.

Huge fan of the A10. Love that bird's looks.. Now being able to 'own' one, oh man...

Feels as good as when we got the P51 Mustang... 

Only issue I have, is the fact that I'll have to make room in my hangar.. Gonna have a real hard time selling one of my birds.. A REAL hard time.. Damn...

So it seems like this and the Stafford are the highlights of this update(I can eat my words about my "probably has the armour of a pop can" comment on the first page, glad to be proven wrong). I can't wait to get my hands on it. The liveries seem really good too, no forced camo in order to get the shark teeth like on the Hunter.
