When Rockstar doesn't screw up the design they screw up the features it seems. Limited normal tracking homing missiles? Well that's a new low for this game. It doesn't matter if it has better handling and barrage rockets, I would say that the Hydra still is far better at the ground attack role simply because it does it better. I'll stick with it and hope for its cannons to never be touched, since that would make the plane beyond obsolete. By the way, what the heck is this update file I had to download? leerocklord Posted August 7, 2018 Share Posted August 7, 2018 Well, I've just had a go in a random lobby and I took out a Laser, Hydra, Buzzard, B-11 and a deluxo. It turns well enough to avoid the deluxo missiles which I was surprised at. Infact it's seems better at air to air combat than ground attacks which as we know is the opposite to the A10. Also, you have to basically nail every bullet from the B-11 at the same place when strafing ground targets which is hard to do. Still not managed to kill a ground random with the cannons though. Overall it's in dire need of a buff but if flown correctly you can at least hold your own. I kind of like it so far. And in one pass! (let's be honest, the explosion is only a cosmetic..) Not a bad pilot but took me at least 2 or 3 pass to take down a chopper with some proper hit. I've just had a short mess around with mine. Cannon is indeed utter sh*t, direct hits on players on foot ragdoll them but don't kill them. The barrage on the other hand is great to divebomb with. You wouldn't be taking out any Nightshark drivers, but players on foot with no cover are f*cked. It's so easy to be accurate with. I'd wait for a discount that is bound to happen soon. The price for this is not worth it. You're better off sticking with the Rogue and Hydra. I only got it for the design. If you're an A-10 fan, it's still worth the money as it is a very nice model with great details. The barrage missiles are great, the homing missiles are ok, and I haven't tried the bombs yet but I assume they're just as dismissible as all the bombs in this game. Too bad the 30 mm gattling gun, which is the signature weapon on this craft is under powered compared to the cannon carried on the Hydra or Laser. The cannon on the Hydra and Laser should be nerfed a bit, and the B-11 gun cranked up to dominate (then all Hydra strafing griefers will have to buy the B-11) Very disappointing. Top speed is a sham, sometimes its good sometimes it isn't (more often isn't, I've found, proving that 165mph theory). Currently might be better serving as an air-to-air option. K then.
