god honestly free roam would be better without all these OTT vehicles infesting the game

I just remember when the most threatening thing you'd come across was a rhino, which was scary due to it's expensive cost and effectiveness, now you've got flying bikes that can rain hell from above that seemingly everyone has.

Yeah this weaponized crap makes you appreciate things like a lazer, rhino or even a hydra much more. I'd rather return to the times where the most dangerous thing was the hydra which i didn't think i would ever want.

Quick question for you guys: does this update still feel like 2 updates combined together?

I loved Gunrunning and Doomsday, but even I felt the Oppressor and the Deluxo were OTT.  This Oppressor MKII takes things even further.  Hell, even the Lazer and Hydra are OP in my opinion.  The problem is with these things there aren't anything proper to counter them.  The police should come down HARD on griefers when they start using these things.  Lazers and Hydras should be shot out of the sky by the military, same for the Deluxo, whilst the Oppressor should be chased by heavily armed cops on motorcycles and helicopters for when the thing takes off.

Same goes for any weaponised vehicle.  The second these things are used by griefers against other innocent gamers, the military should be the responding police force using attack choopers, APCs and in extreme circumstances, Jets and Tanks.

Just my thoughts.

If I excluded nightclubs themselves it would barely feel like one full update... just my person opinion.

With how great the clubs are does it feel like a full update. Yes and no. Yes because the actual theme was focused on and they nailed it. No because we usually get a lot of side content and yet in this case we didn't.

Same. And BTW me asking this question isn't a jab at Yan; I just feel kind of underwhelmed. I still appreciate many of the things we got, but it still feels like things are missing.

Lazers/hydras are countered by pyros, starlings, seabreeze, chernobogs, explosive sniper

Oppressors/deluxos are countered by strombergs, savage, hunter, Lazers/hydras, vigilantes, ruiner, explosive sniper, chernobogs, auto aim Combat mg

You can also use nightsharks as a defensive counter till u find a safe place

Also someone said you can auto aim the explosive shotgun if you are close enough to jet

Lol No. Only the club environment feels like new content and the cars.

It's a shame that these items can be used for PvP. While I am all for player freedom, PvP needs balancing in general with any game. If R* won't add decent counters, the OP item in question needs to be restricted. I love the weaponised vehicles for the practicality usage in contact missions or to get across to another place faster/convenient, no different to an armoured Karuma was more useful for its time. Also it mixes things up a bit from time to time. It's annoying still that we can't use special vehicles in PvE. R* purposely creates these items to create the friction for griefers. For two main reasons:

1 - To get kiddies to buy money.

2 - To be used to attack others and slow them down easier.

Point one is based of a small personal sample of customers that purchase Shark Cards and I ask them what they are using it for. It's a grief vehicle. And typically, younger audience don't see the bigger picture so they buy everything without saving. You will be hard pressed to find very young kids that will save money for a rainy day.

Point two is something we can all relate to in one way or another. R* uses griefers and gives them tools to do the dirty work - stop the people earning GTA$. Red blips, no private lobbies, notifications all prove this.

How would R* fix this without nerfing or ruining items, or making the possible counter a worse option? You create a weaponised passive mode. You cannot injure any player with a weaponised vehicle and vice versa. PvP and griefing is halted with vehicles. You can kill anything else and use that to your advantage. Any missions that require PvP in Freemode, weaponised vehicles get locked. Done. No tweaking of anything, just adding in 2 existing mechanics, applying rules and events to them.

Or 0 insurance. But that still creates the friction.

R* won't do this because they rely on PvP griefing to make the victim go "can't beat him, join him" and also pay up to create a "level playing field".

There's already counters for nearly every weaponized vehicle. The only challenging one is the avenger when it has gunners and a driver at once

However no matter how many oppressors I destroy, the fact that they can keep respawning them with no cooldown is really annoying because the insurance builds up

Regardless, I want the police and military to crack down on griefers.  Second a jet goon starts shooting its noob-cannon on a city street, 3x NPC jets should be scrambled and keep re-spawning on its arse until its shot down.

I've just given up on PvP altogether. Last time I was in an all out freemode war was on 360. When I'm out of solo publics I just stay in passive until I'm in one.

This dlc feels so... incomplete.

Strange. Even SR was interesting in first few weeks, at least you saw that first 3 are best money making things, and collecting all 50 crates. Before you realise its time wasting for earning.

This... It feels like it will take a whole month to just fill up full nightclub or even that 3rd special sell option...

Yes and what about them vehicles? Counters to them? Are they now the OP ones? Why create this friction sparked off K/D warriors to players who don't want to engage but also would like to play the content as passive restricts like everything. Not everyone has these items, nor drives about in a vehicle in case of attack. What if you're not in the correct counter vehicle? It's an event where you have to be lucky you're in the right counter or the attacker is stupid. What about missions where you're restricted to certain vehicles? So I have to drive in a Night Shark because of the possibility of an explosive cannon. How do I know when a specific griefing vehicle is going to be chosen and be prepared with the counter before they are already bee-lining for me?

Either way you lose, either in time or money for the sake of some dick trolling for a laugh. And mainly because they can get away with it, unless they are stupid or you're lucky to have the advantage.

I have no problem with PvP in Freemode but having the ability to resort to ridiculous stuff to gain K/D or LOLz without fair balance needs to be addressed. Weaponised Passive should happen. Make PvP boots on ground. Nothing wrong in using Hydra for taking out NPCs easy though.

No, I think he means it feels incomplete because aside from the night clubs, we didn't get a lot of night club-esque content; just more Battlefield: Hardline-type sh*t.

It also feels incomplete because there's jacksh*t available at launch. 60% of the update is dripfeed.

So one can still sell and buy supplies/product from the actual business while production is also going on at the NightClub?

I think this is where the miscommunication is

Functionality of the nightclub is more than the other properties

HOWEVER

Looking at the datamining the terrorbyte or whatever it's called is a mk2 MOC complete with a mission line and is a gunrunning 2.0 update. Hence the b-11 and the mk2 oppressor.

If you one of those players that have little to no weaponized vehicles then I can understand the frustration. Switching counters haven't been too difficult for me. My radar is usually always on expanded and I do check the lobby every so often for possible troublemakers. If I get ambushed and using wrong vehicle, I ghost organization and grab the right vehicle and deal with the threat

A lot of people don't usually go around in avengers that often due to a few reasons. U need 2 ppl to make it ridiculous and if one person is running it, u need prep time which someone with missiles on a vehicle or cannons will intercepts before he has time to get on the turret. I learn to stay away from floating avengers that are not moving if it's one person in it

At least u can shoot ppl out of oppressors with a combat MG in auto aim lobbies

And even half of  the nightclub is dripfeed.

locking Those other dj's and their respective pick up missions in dripfeed is like rockstar dripfeeding act 2 and 3 of the DDH.

It's almost as if they did not

want to release this update today.

Like where they forced to do so?

Also the entire update feels rushed.

lot's of custom versions of exisiting vehicles, most of the exisiting cars are only getting liveries instead of a full Benny treatment.

most of the cars all sound

so generic, almost no new engine sounds.

clothes are just reskins.

even the oppressor is just a deluxo with jet cannons and other sh*t.

They did not even bother to remove the handling flags.

just a rushed update.

maybe all their budget went to the dj's and music but even that is dripfeed,so wtf?

That's what I wondered too; whether the size of the night clubs were bigger than other properties that were added. And TBH, I heavily consider how big an update is by how many vehicles are added. If they added Benny's versions of the vehicles getting new customization, I probably wouldn't be complaining as much. And I'm no expert on how file sizes work and all that, but I feel like a 5+ GB update would've probably beaten DDH in terms of new vehicles added.

at the end of the day i'm still thankful for the theme of this update

i'm still gonna love jamming out to solomun (f*cking thank you rockstar for making him first!) inside my flashy as sh*t nightclub even if everything else is utter garbage. also appreciative for the jester classic and swinger.

f*ck lazlow with a ten inch pole though.

Also, not every vehicle needs a Benny's version IMO, but until today I thought that was the only way to get new customization for existing vehicles. At least that's what a lot of people kept claiming.

I have all of them as I like to find usage out of them. I mean how would you get any vehicle in time if a OTR/GO player heads your way? Akula? You need to get away from your vehicle or get to specific location. I don't have issues with griefers but it's the principal and inconvenience for myself to deal with for some "lolz"

And you've used money for their lolz. I couldn't do that myself.

As I said, you can go off radar or ghost org to leave the area safely. You can go passive till u get in the desired vehicle if you're that desperate as well or teleport to apartment/facility. To me, the vehicles themselves aren't the problem, its the greifer using it. If u think an oppressor or some normal jet greifer is annoying? Try dealing with a try hard who goes around passive popping ppl and doing so in weaponized vehicles as well, who only decides to ewo spam if u put a bounty on him as soon as he passive pops and if he has a tryhard buddy, enjoy the ghost organization hopping 24/7. All these stupid exploits Rockstar never bother to fix because they waste resources chasing money glitches. Anyways but yea, the dlc is neat, but 70% of it is dripfeed

No. It hardly even feels like one complete update tbh. The club(s) might be cool and well developed, but I really think they should've done more work-related stuff with them. Not just make it a hub for what we already had previously. For that reason it's questionable to even call it one complete update imo.

But to be fair though - does the fault lie with R*? Was it misleading advertizing? I don't really think so. The fans hyped it to high heaven and the "two-in-one" announcement was made by Yan, I believe. Everybody just took his word for it. For good reason though, I suppose.

However, I personally never trust "leakers" and I was skeptical about its supposed proportion. Had I expected it to be double-sized then I'd be even more bummed right now.
