Not technically something original or in-depth, but I'd like to see something like American Truck Simulator but with more crime sh*t.

It's dumb I know but I feel like an open world crime game by SCS Software wouldn't be too bad?

One thing that I thought recently, not exactly a fully fleshed out dream game..;

Cyberpunk 2077 but with

  • non-essential characters.

I just want a game like L.A. Noire set in the 21st century. I couldn't find a single game that's even close to being like that game. It could be a little harder, more like real life detective work. I'm really interested how many people would be interested, since that's the only kind of real detective game.

See my post on the previous page. I would love a mystery/detective game.

Some great ideas here.

Mine would be simple. Give me The Getaway 3, let Guy Richie write the plot/script. Perfect.

Secondly would be a sequel to Mark Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, add in some Assassins Creed style parkour, some VR elements. Jesus, It makes me feel things even thinking about it.

I've been craving a GTA-esque open world game with a bunch of specific weird stuff

  • low poly ps1/ps2 era artstyle
    • obviously with lighting/rendering effects and asset variety that wouldn't have been possible at the time
  • snappy on foot controls & combat
    • it would RULE if you got a big damage bonus from melee combat
    • weapons are all pretty distinct from one another
    • combat goes at a breakneck pace once it gets started
  • a solid variety of fake cars
    • with fairly detailed performance & visual customization, just for messing around
    • a lot of "interchangeable" parts between cars (engine, transmission, turbo, etc
    • this game would be about a lot of things but i think an important focus would be that it's about enjoying cars
  • online optional freeroam mode and & mafia series (except III) style story mode
    • each story mode story is only a few hours long front to back
  • game is set in a japanese urban and/or rural setting
    • maybe with some simon stalenhag esque stuff going on in the background
    • I like the idea of map expansions just. making the game space (an island?) bigger with no explanation

Im asking myself, where there are not more open world games set in 90s.

I mean Mafia kind like, like we experience last golden days of gangsters.

I starting to become tired with games set in modern days, because they always feel same at the end.

And I really want another open world set in WW2, like was the Saboteur albeit make it more polished and not cartoony graphics this time.

Stitch together ArmA, Falcon 4 and Steel Beasts. Done.  Best. Sim. Ever.

GTA V with RDR mechanics and physics, slower acceleration. Basically what GTA VI should be if they take their time with it. Also a little bit of Metro Exodus inventory management.

I feel like most big games that comes out in the last 2 years has been some futuristic stuff. I wish games go back in the days. Watchdogs for example, i loved WD2 idk why they made it cyberpunkish

A little far-fetched, but I've always wanted a dark fantasy game that blends typical RPG/adventure tropes with the crime action genre, with a villain protagonist.

Sort of like Saints Row 2 but set in a Fire Emblem/Game of Thrones-esque open world where you play as a customizable character who starts off as a lowly petty criminal who goes on to become a feared emperor/empress or something like that.

I dont know, writers, developers of these games are probably young and they dont give a f*ck about early history. Look at trilogy definitive edition, they had one job and they made tons of anachronisms because they felt creative...

Watch dogs legion is futuristic nightmare, and Im tired of these visions of not too distant future. Im want some escapisms, so I love when I play discovery tour mode of assasins creed Origins...

Ditto.

I've always wanted to see an open world game set in Russia during the 1990s, either in Moscow or Saint Petersburg.

Hell yes, I wildly remember in early 00s russian crime series name Brigade. It was about small gangster that made it on top. It was very interesting, because of corruption, rotten law, they later drove german luxury cars and contrast with everything else in city was remarkable.. It was probably very easy to fly on top in Russia.Literally Gangster nation...
