Since there are strong indications that gta 6 is going back to the 80's I would like to have something similar to Emotion 98.3. Probably still hosted by Fernando Martinez. This will just be 80's chill out tunes. Imagine cruising Vice City at night with these tunes. (btw sorry I could not link them)

Double - Captain of her heart
The Commodores - Easy
Billy Idol - Eyes without a face
The Cars - Drive
Roxy music - Avalon
Michael Jackson - Human Nature
The Style Council - Long hot summer
Art of Noise - Moments in love
Robert Palmer - I didn't mean to turn you on
Rupert Holmes - Escape (The Piña Colada Song)
Hall and Oates - I can't go for that (No can do)
Glenn Frey - You belong to the city

I'm not sure about the name, but I'd love a Radio station just filled with mostly early 2000's music. By the time GTA 6 releases, these will be old as sh*t (they already are to me), so you could make it a Throwback FM or something.

Usher - Yeah!

Eminem - Lose Yourself

The Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love?

Twista - Overnight Celebrity

Ja Rule ft. Ashanti - Always On Time

Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys - Empire State Of Mind

Alicia Keys - No One

Nelly - Dilemma ft. Kelly Rowland

Natalie Imbruglia - Torn

Colplay - The Scientist

Sean Paul - Like Glue

Avril Lavigne - Sk8er Boi

Cascada - Everytime We Touch

Hey Ya - Outkast

Feel Good Inc - Gorillaz

Shaggy - Wasn't Me

In The End - Linkin Park

Tell me you wouldn't jam out to this sh*t.

So, I'm working on a new Grand Theft Auto concept thread with a decidedly retro-futuristic approach, taking heavy inspiration from a nostalgic version of the 1980's and 1990's that never truly was and the aesthetics of Vaporwave, old-school video gaming, classic anime, and mall culture.

The concept is called Grand Theft Auto: Neon Funeral

This is not the GTA for the "realistic steak" crowd that want another rehash of GTA IV.

No, it is not intended as a canon component of either the HD or 3D settings, but is instead set in the "4D Universe" or alternately, the "VHS Universe"

But the reason I mention this is because I want the concept thread to have at least one radio station dedicated to Vaporwave and Mallsoft music, but these are genres that I am still very new to (yes, I know I am late to the party) and I am hoping someone more familiar can compile a playlist for these stations.

So, any Vaporwave or Mallsoft fans here who can help me out?

I just now was actually thinking about creating an idea for a pirate vaporwave station and posting it here on the forum.

There are some awesome stations in this thread--how about this--you can subscribe to other players' stations/playlists through an integration with Spotify/whatever music service?

Okay so this might not look quite original, since many already had their own take to what a Synthwave radio would be/sound like in a GTA game, but ehm.. I'm gonna share mine anyway! I purposely didn't include any darksynth tracks (even though I love the genre) because I kinda wanted my playlist to be "pop" oriented. Since I don't really have any specific name attached to it, I'll just go with Night Ride FM. ^^ The logo was made by fellow grope_4_that_date.

I've said this before but that doesn't seem like a good idea. It loses the sense of immersion that the radio stations in GTA have. For example, The Classics in GTA IV is a continuous mix of classic hip-hop and it's mixed exactly like an actual classic hip-hop radio show or station like Backspin on Sirius XM or Pete Rock's Future Flavas with Marley Marl on Hot 97, with scratches, beat juggling, etc.. It has to be in that format or else it won't make much sense in the context of the music that's being played. Hell, the DJ is literally a classic DJ that made a bunch of mixtapes and had radio shows in this format. If the station just played songs individually at random, it wouldn't feel much like a classic hip-hop station, especially one with DJ Premier (the DJ of the station). Another thing to add is that radio stations don't just play songs. The ones that aren't one big continuous mix have other stuff in between them, like news reports, idents, commercials, etc.. If you cut that out of stations, the immersion of those stations are completely taken away unless it's a continuous mix or something. Also not everyone is gonna have internet so for those people, they can't listen to the music like anyone else can and the only way for them to be able to do so is if they pay for a router and an internet service. Instead, I think that Rockstar should integrate a feature where players can add their own stations with custom everything. It should also allow radio station mods so that people can download other people's stations so that they don't have to be connected to the internet all the time to play them. They should make both advanced ways and basic ways to program a radio station, so that people can customize their stations to their heart's content. What you're asking for is literally putting spotify in the game. You can just listen to spotify instead of the ingame stations anyways.

Since my mood to continue with posting stations returned, now this is an interesting one, some people may not know its existance, but it was featured in CTW which of course it was ambienced in Liberty City. All the tracks comes from mixtapes and compilations from the next label-centered station (and to be honest, that station might be perfect for cab drivers, like Radio del Mundo in GTA LCS):

"International mixes for Liberty City airwaves, brought to you by the mastermind Nickodemus, no need passport."

Host: Nickodemus

Genre: Worldbeat/middle-eastern music/house/dub/downtempo/breaks/future jazz/tribal/latin jazz

Type: Continuous mix

Tracklist:

Candela All-Stars - Bro Bom Bique (Matthias Heilbron Remix) (2003)
Nappy G - Haba Na Haba (DJ Smash Remix) (2009)
Banda Favela - Samba de Ile (Waiwan Remix) (2004)
The Pleb - Shadow of a Bee (2001)
Nickodemus feat. Carol C - Spoon Song (Lee Davis Remix) (1999)
Zimpala - The Breeze is Black (Bobby Hughes Experience Remix) (2004)
The Spy from Cairo - Oud Funk (2009)
Sabo & Zeb - NYC (2004)
Marzebian - Let It Ride (III Factor & Jean Shepherd Remix) (2006)

UKG

hqdefault.jpg

A collection of early 2000's Garage hits from the UK.

Artful Dodger Feat. Craig David - Re-Rewind (2000)

Oxide & Neutrino Bound 4 Da Reload (2000)

Dj Luck & Mc Neat - With A Little Bit Of Luck (1999)

DJ Pied Piper & The MC's - Do You Really Like It (2001)

Mj Cole - Crazy Love (2000)

My Desire - Amira (1997)

Angel Blue Ft Jaimeson - True (2003)

Monsta Boy - Sorry (2000)

Gotta Get Thru This (D'n'D Remix) - Daniel Bedingfield (2003)

Sweet Female Attitude - Flowers (2000)
So Solid Crew - 21 Seconds (2001)

3 Of A Kind - Babycakes (2004)

If you don't know what Garage is, it was basically a popular genre of electronic music that will ruled much of the early 2000's in the UK. Imagine something like Rise FM but way better and with more variety. I know it'd probably be a station that is underrated.
