Serg14 Posted July 17, 2018 Share Posted July 17, 2018 i read (in gta wikia) that there is seagulls in gta 3 (which make it first animals ever in gta)- they are flying in the sky. I actually seen a few though on my original v1. gta 3 (PS2) not too sure about other ports like Xbox or PC. Jago Posted July 18, 2018 Share Posted July 18, 2018 (edited) They're in III but they're just sprites/particle effects, and the seagull sound in the game is from the ambient noise when the player is near the ocean. I think by default they're a flat 2D effect that's always a set distance from the player but there's an unused version of them where they fly around in the world. Carbonox Posted July 19, 2018 Share Posted July 19, 2018 Well, GTA_Loco mentioned in his good old LCS underworld exploration thread that some birds are seen flying around behind the Cedar Grove mountains. Considering III and LCS use the same map and the same engine, and the area behind the mountains is basically the beginning of the skybox, I assume that means birds do exist in III too, but only as a non-interactive part of the atmosphere. I haven't done any personal exploration into this thing really, but that theory at least makes sense to me.
