terrannce
Okay, the title is a little exaggerated, but whatever. I am a big San Andreas fan. LCS is from 2006, so it is a post San Andreas game. Why then does it remind me more of gta 3 graphics and handling wise, etc (not setting wise of course) than of San Andreas the best GTA title definitely around that time (and in my opinion of all time)? San Andreas was a huge milestone, and a revolutionary game. LCS goes backwards and brings back the old and less advanced game engine and style. What annoys me the most is that that unlike the radio stations in San Andreas, the radio stations in this game totally suck! All of the stations play classical ,pop.and rap music which I am not into - no great stations like K-DST or RADIO X or even K-ROSE! I went and googled the radio stations, and none of the songs are by artists I have ever heard of, not one. It's set in 1998 so what about Alanis Morrisette, Marilyn Manson, Spice Girls, Sheryl Crow, Hole, heck even earlier 90's like Nirvana, or Sound Garden, and this is just to name a few. I am bewildered as to why right after such a milestone game like San Andreas, they would release such a crap game, and a game that is for sure a step backwards? mde2
It's almost like it's a smaller game and many features from GTA:SA were compromised because it was originally a PSP game Jago, Crossbones, universetwisters and 2 others
Igor Bogdanoff
as said. It's small game based on VC's engine, with little budget for portable system. Try playing VCS, it got extra crap such as swimming, bikes, radios full of expensive songs etc etc. mde2, Lennart -, Shred N Slash and 1 other

As that being said, for the music, R* still needed to prove themselves before SA even though III and VC are amazing games, that's probably they made everything impeccable to put their names one step away. Sure, it might also cost them much and cause the actors and labels request more. I believe, that's why they changed their strategy in terms of voice actors and songs. However, in my opinion, the songs are still great in the game. So many different tastes. @George Costanza As for VCS, yes it has more stuff since its engine is San Andreas's, but I would still put it in the same category as it was too originally released for PSP. Plus, for the story, VC's story is more accurate than III's. Edited July 18, 2018 by Antonio"Toni"Hernandez

Ofc, it's less powerful than PS2 and it was smaller platform (in terms of users), so it was much riskier for R* to develop game for it 13 minutes ago, Antonio"Toni"Hernandez said: its engine is San Andreas's it's not
Nico
The Stories games were like some sort of "experiment" I guess. Back then, GTA releases were almost yearly, and with the PS3 and Xbox 360 being released soon they started to work on IV, which would still take a couple of years to complete, so they needed to release something in the meantime. With the PSP being released around that time as well, they wanted to capitalize on its release, a success that would never arrive. The UMD discs capacity was nowhere near the capacity of PS2's DVD's, and the handheld itself was also technically behind the domestic console. They couldn't just bring their newest game into that relatively new, untested platorm. Even less considering that SA already made extensive use of the PS2 capabilities. LCS and VCS were made largely using reused assets from III and VC because of the little time and resources they had to work on them. VCS was a bit more polished and had more content, but its sales were tarnished by the relative unpopularity of LCS. That and the music licensing problems could explain why it was never released for mobiles. Big_Smiley, El Penguin Bobo and Igor Bogdanoff 3 Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder... ...why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky? El Penguin Bobo
The reason why the game wasn't like San Andreas is due to PSP limitations. Also, did you buy the game recently after all of these years? If you did, then you should have known by now that it wasn't going to be like what you expected. Helegad
OP is part of the problem where games these days are more about looking good than playing good. Oh yeah and tl:dr > no Spice Girls > crap game Edited August 5, 2018 by Helegad
